This colorful children's nonfiction is a wonderful resource for everything about the weather!

Weather is all around us, all over the world, and even on different planets! You can learn all about our planet's weather, its patterns, and our relationship with it, or how it affects us, all in this fun, fact-filled book!

There's plenty of art and photography to fill this 72 page book and the text is bold and easy to read with kid-friendly header text. Every page is full of color and facts to keep the reader busy learning!

Glossary and index included.

This is a really thorough book on all kinds of science related to weather. It's very colorfully illustrated and fun to engage in. I thought it would be a quick read for my kids but it's surprisingly long and complete, but fun enough that kids will like flipping through it and learning. Recommended for elementary to middle school age, especially visual learners.

I read a temporary digital Advanced Readers Copy of this book via Net Galley.

"What's the Weather?" is hands down one of the best earth science resources I have seen in many years. 32 two-page spreads, each focusing on one aspect related to weather, make up the bulk of this easily accessible nonfiction book. Weather basics are included and discussed like the water cycle, clouds, storms, and various kinds of extreme weather. Most children's books about weather stop there, but not this one. Some of the most interesting additional topics include Weather Power, City Microclimates, Volcanic Weather, Weird Weather, and Weatherproof Animals, The book concludes with both a glossary and an index, which round out the scope of narrative information. Another stand-out feature of this book is the use of color, graphics, photographs, and text placement. The design of this book is exceptional. Each spread is self-contained, delivering a visually appealing and easy-to-read understanding of that page's topic. Colors are bright and bold and used to segment charts, diagrams, drawings, and many other small bits of information. Young readers will be able to engage with this book in many ways. It would be a wonderful new addition to libraries, classrooms, or any child's bookshelf.
The publisher and NetGalley provided me with an advanced reader's copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

"What's the Weather?" is a well illustrated and informative book. It's a great read for 8+ readers that interested in learning more about weather and climate change. There isn't a lot of content about combatting climate change and more emphasis could have been placed on the national and global level changes necessary to deal with our changing climate.

A wonderful primer on weather for kids. Has eye-catching graphics/illustrations that are very educational and easy to follow. This book covers seasons, and clouds, and predicting weather as well as events that effect the weather, plus much more. I think there is something in this book for all the little curious minds.
