#thishasbeenabsoluletylovely,  yes and this book is truly lovely. It's an emotional roller-coaster reading this book, it's funny, witty, yet it made me irritated, annoyed. It describes lots of complications and dramas within a family. Annie is a divorcee with three grown-up children, Simon, Naomi, and Molly. Her family is not a normal family, with her ex-husband turns out gay, and still living in a circle of her family. When Annie's father passed away, she inherited the house and she knows this is her time to embark her delayed dream. However, a mother's job never ends - her children no matter how grown up they are, never ceased to need her helps. When will be enough is enough?
It's not just internal family affair, Jessica surprised us too with the neighbourly affair.

Everyone’s family has its complications and secrets, and none more than Annie’s family. In ‘This Has Been Absolutely Lovely’, Dettmann explores the choices we make - and those that are made for us - with such clever wit.

The story is told from the point of view of Annie, a middle aged only child and mother of three who gave up musical stardom to be a mother, and Molly, Annie’s youngest child, who is about to become a mother herself. Annie has come to the realisation that perhaps life shouldn’t just be about being a mother, and Molly is contemplating what life as a mother will look like - but of course, Annie will be helping out with the baby.

I absolutely loved this book. I was so invested in the characters - even if, for most of the book, I couldn’t stand how self absorbed Molly is! It has so many funny moments, especially with Annie. It’s a book others should definitely read, as I want to discuss it!
