It was so much fun coming back to this world. Meant to be immortal is the perfect escape - steamy actiony goodness, wraped up in well written dialogue and just the right amount of intrigue and secrets. Lynsay Sands sure knows how to confort write, which is what we all need right now, Recommned!

I can’t say enough good about this book. There was just so much to it. First, and I believe this is important, the level of drama between the two wasn’t overwhelming. Yes, they both have issues. She’s guarded for the right reasons. He wants her, again for the right reasons. They get together. And talk things out. And then move forward. There’s no freak outs. There’s no crazy moments between them. Now, that doesn’t mean the story is lacking. The story has a lot going on but for once it doesn’t seem to involve him being immortal. It doesn’t involve some crazy stuff that happened a hundred years ago. It’s simple normal stuff and that’s so refreshing. Really enjoyed the book and believe it’s a good addition to the series!

This is my first Lynsay Sands book. While I didn't necessarily feel lost coming in at book 32 in a series (it was really easy to jump into the world), I don't think I would have finished this book had I not received an ARC (it took me over a month to read it, with a couple of breaks for other books). The plot felt very dated to me. I actually checked a few times to see if it was a rerelease from the early 2000's or 90's. There was also way too much minutiae. So many descriptions of things like walking into a house or getting something out of a desk.
2 stars because there is a lot of sex, which I did appreciate.
This book wasn't for me, but if you've read 31 books before this one, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

This was a pretty entertaining book to read. The hero and his family are all immortals. When Mac finds his life mate, he and his family had to find a way to be around her and still keep hidden what they are. Then you throw in the way CJ kept trying to shake him off, and that is what made this fun to read.

CJ is a pretty closed off heroine and that can make it difficult to enjoy a dance like this. What was fortunate is the way Mac and his family navigated around her isolation to embed them into her life. Mac is more laid back, and went with the flow. I wouldn't call this guy an Alpha but I still liked him.

I am a bit late to the Argeneau series party, but I like that you don't have to read these books in order to enjoy one of them. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, but I can guarantee you will get a kick out of some of the side characters enough that you will want to check out more in this series.

Okay, so first off, I don’t usually do reviews on books that I felt like completely tanked in my opinion, but here we are. This book, is apparently number 32 in a whole series. And no, I have never read the rest of the series and after just a few pages of this particular one, it’s safe to say I never will. It is extremely rare for me to DNF a book before even the first chapter, but again, here we are. Cover art is unimpressive to me. It appears to be what I assume is a male vampire in the shower? And in my opinion, if he’s a vampire, shouldn’t he be doing something far more exciting and relevant than being in the shower? On the cover? Was this trying for sex appeal, because I found it completely unattractive and not sexy. I did actually LOL out loud when some of the first words of the Prologue stated that yes, while vampires are immortal, they can still be burnt to a crisp. And the fact that the said vampire in the Prologue is cowering in a bathtub waiting for mortals to save him from said fire, yeah. Not sexy. Complete turnoff. I never do the whole let’s judge a book before the first chapter thing, but this one. Apparently it’s special. 3/5 stars. It’s a no go for me

*I received an arc from Netgalley & Harper Collins Publishers for an honest review* Lynsay Sands does it again with another amazing book in the Argeneau series!! This is Macon “Mac” Argeneau & CJ Cummings story & what wonderful characters they are. Mac realizes pretty quickly that CJ is his lifemate & has to work on gaining her trust while getting to know her due to circumstances of her past. Lynsay’s books always have humor & funny moments in them & this one was no exception. It was also great to see Bricker, Decker, Marguerite, Julian & Dani in the book. Bricker is always entertaining (“Casper the Friendly Ghost of vampires” & still always hungry) and Marguerite adds her usual charm to the book as well. Love, love this book, author & series!!

Mac is an immortal and a hematologist. The only way to kill an immortal, is to cut their head off or by fire. So when his house is set on fire and he’s trapped inside, he is parboiled. CJ has came to town to investigate a cop in the police department. She was a cop but now works as a SIU, which is the civilian organization that investigates cops. When she arrives to question the cop, he’s out at the scene of a fire. She’s then roped in to going out and collecting evidence. After when Mac shows back up on the scene, CJ then becomes his bodyguard. As soon as Mac meets her, he knows she’s his life mate. But CJ has been married and divorced and is not looking for a man. So when someone tries to run them over, Mac will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
Good story. An immortal and a human. Some sex and action. I really don’t know what else to say without giving anything away.

I always enjoy dipping back into the Argeneau world... I would say it's probably my favorite version of a paranormal vampire romance series I've read. That said, I do think at this point, it's quite hard for new readers to jump in with the series, as it is so self-referential. I appreciated that this entry put a lot of emphasis on the relationship with CJ & Macon, which was a welcome change from the last few, and I thought that making the suspense portion of the plot center around police brutality was a timely theme to include. Overall, not the best in the series, but if you are a lover of the Argeneaus, this will give you a lot of the vibes that I've come to know & enjoy from these books
CW: police brutality on page; marital abuse & infidelity; chronic illness

Fast paced, deals with taboo subjects & just really sweet. Didnʻt want book to end. Book explores the dangers of falling into under cover police work, drug abuse & exposing their families to consequences of their job. The Argeneau’s especially Marguerite play their part in this thoroughly enjoyable romp.

This book starts out HOT! Literally. It starts with a fire. Mac Argeneau is going to be burned in his new rental if he doesn't get help. The fire department is outside, but will they reach him in time?

CJ Cummings is in town to investigate a bad cop. She is tired of the police chief putting her off, via the phone. The day she arrives, she is told they are short handed and she is needed to help at the house fire. She grudgingly accept, since it may help her finally meet to interview the alleged bad cop.

When Mac meets CJ he knows immediately that she is his lifemate. Now he just has to figure out how to woo and win her. Enter the rest of the Ageneau clan. They just can't stay away and figure that Mac needs all the help he can get.

With the usual snark, one comes to expect with these books, and interesting case and quite a bit of steam, you've got a delightful, winning combination.

Thank you to Lynsay Sands for the advanced copy.

Wow. This book is totally different from the rest. I definitely didn't see the plot twist coming. Nice ending. It was a refreshing change to read this book. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

MEANT TO BE IMMORTAL is the thirty-second book in the Argeneau series. Each story does stand on its own, but there is heavy involvement from cross-over characters.

Starting with flames, it only gets hotter. Hot doesn’t begin to describe the swoon-worthy dedication of Mac when it comes to protecting CJ.

Many old friends are included and Bricker explaining Immortals as Casper the Friendly Vampires was TOOOOOO funny. In fact, the whole story was charming and endearing.

If you only read one book from this series, choose this one. Me, personally, I started reading the series before I had a blog and before I started writing reviews. I read them because I love these stories.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via NetGalley, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've read the entire Argeneau series and I'd say this was another good addition to the series. It hooked me right away with the action of Mac's house catching on fire. There was a lot happening in the story that kept me engaged and the book moving at a good pace. We saw some of the characters from earlier on in the series, a few of my favorites, which I always like as I feel like it ties the series together better.

I've read a few reviews of people who hadn't read this series before, and I do agree that if you haven't read any of the previous books you may be a little confused for a while. It didn't get into what being an Immortal meant until later on the in the book, so you may be kind of confused about what types of abilities the Immortals have until that point.

I'd definitely recommend this book. You can read this book individually, but like most series, you may miss some references to previous books and relationships if you don't read the full series.

For the thirty-second installment in the Argeneau Series Sands brings us an fated mate match amid a police investigation. CJ is an investigator in town to find out whether police harassment is happening in town. Max has just moved to town only to have his house burned down around him. When Max realizes that CJ is his mate he calls on friends and family to help him get the girl.

Although the plot was good and kept me interested in finding out the truth, the lack of backstory made it frustrating to read. Understanding that this is a long running series, most readers probably already know the backstory of the immortals and their powers. But as a newbie to the series, I was constantly lost as to how Max’s powers worked, what sunlight did to him, how there were nanos thousands of years ago. Most of this was not explained until chapter 19.

So if you follow the series you’ll love it. If you are new to the series you may want to start at the beginning.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series is one of my go to guilty pleasure to read. With 32 books in the series, you would think the author would have run out of ideas, but Meant to Be Immortal is a good addition to the series and brings in a little twist to the series that makes the continuing storyline of the Argeneau's more compelling to read. While there are a few cliché romance tropes woven into the storyline, I still enjoyed Meant to Be Immortal and cannot wait until the next book in the series.

Wow! I really enjoyed this and I'm kicking myself for not having read any other books by Lynsay before now!

This one kind of had a Jeaniene Frost vibe to it, which I LOVE. I really enjoyed that despite there being about 30 other books in the series, I didn't feel like I was missing anything from the story by jumping in here, which I really appreciate.

The characters were well written and interesting, and the romance was great!

I'll definitely be going back and reading the rest of the series!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

One of my favorite things about this series is that even though this is number 32 in the series, you can jump in at any point. Yes, the series builds off one another, but you can still follow everything if this is your first book. That said, I have read most of this series and thoroughly enjoyed them. In this latest installment, Mac narrowly escapes death when his house catches fire. But soon realizes that tragic event may lead to finding the mate he has been waiting for thousands of years. This paranormal romance is a great addition to the long running series and hopefully will attract to new readers to go back to the earlier installments. Overall an enjoyable romance with great characters and definite potential for future books in the series.

Time to turn up the heat
And just like that another Argeneau hottie has found their lifemate. The author really brought her A game with this book! Right from the beginning she hooked me with an impossible situation and then kept the story moving with danger and laughter right until the very end. I fell in love with CJ and the hardships she has had to overcome and Mac is her perfect partner. I enjoyed getting to see some of my favorite characters and could that be a future story in the making, only time will tell. This book is a fantastic addition to the series and I am already looking forward to reading the next installment.

I am not sure how this is possibly my first Argeneau book. Like there were 31 books before this. So - possibly not the best time to start the series? But - I will say I didn't feel like I had missed anything. The world is so well defined and created that you almost don't need any introduction to it. I really liked the concept of vampires who weren't stereotypical vampires.

Mac (Macon Argeneau) is really really old. He is also a scientist who specializes in hematology. He's moved to a new town after many years in New York City - and on his first night in his new house someone burns it down. This is a big problem, because Mac is still inside and apparently immortals are very flammable.

CJ Cummings is a detective who works with a civilian agency that investigates police misconduct in Canada. She is in town investigating misconduct by an officer and gets roped in to helping investigate Mac's fire. She has a complicated history and absolutely no idea about what Mac and his family are.

When they meet - Mac immediately knows that CJ is his life mate - but with CJs history he needs to tread carefully. I really liked Mac and CJ and it was really sweet to see Mac woo CJ. I will say that I didn't feel a whole lot of depth though. CJs personal history is very tragic and involves a rare good foster care experience - but does involve a lot of personal loss. But for whatever reason, I didn't get a strong emotional connection to her. I also didn't feel like we got a lot of depth to Mac or background from him. Perhaps that happened in other books?

Overall - this was a good read in the paranormal romance area. I think I would have probably loved it more had I read the previous 32 books though!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

In book #32 of the Argeneau Vampire series we are following Mac Ageneau who after just moving in to his new house gets caught in a fire and almost dies. While dealing with the aftermath of the fire he meets CJ Cummings who is in town to investigate one of the town's police officers and gets roped into helping out at the fire. Mac is a vampire and CJ is his potential life mate so now he has to try and convince her to be with him without scaring her off. I always love these stories because they are always a good time. You have a love story going on but you almost always have a ton of action that helps the story move forward. One of things I really love about this series is that you can really jump on at any point, the author always gives enough background so new readers can jump in and old readers get a little refresh. If you are looking for a fun paranormal romance series, I highly recommend these and I think that this one is great for new readers to jump in with. Thank you to Avon Books, Harper Voyager and Netgalley for my gifted copy in exchange for my honest review!
