Such a fun and cute graphic novel. This is an excellent series for any child interested in Minecraft. I love to use these graphic novels as a way to get reluctant readers into reading. They are fun and easy to follow along. I especially like that it's part of a series so that I can keep my students reading. The illustrations are great and the kids find them super fun and engaging.

I personally never played that much Minecraft, but I can see the fun in it. My son is a huge fan and if his English either gets good enough or the book gets translated, I'm sure he would love to read it. The story is good to follow and fun to read.

This graphic novel is a Minecraft-based adventure featuring a zombie and a villager becoming friends and wanting to go to the End. The graphic novel contained very nice art, not exactly as the minecraft game, but similair enough to recognize the game and still seperate enough to feel like seperate art.

I would recommend the series of this (which I've not all read, but just this one) to younger Minecraft fans, who want something outside of the game as well. It would be a lovely birthday or special occasion gift. It doesn't mean older fans won't enjoy it, but for older fans it would either be more of a collectible item or something you would borrow in the library - I don't think I would go out of my way of buying it. I did like all the references made to the game, which made me smile as an older minecraft player.

I wish this comic had an ending though. It ended abruptly in a cliffhanger, and I think it was meant to as a way for you to get another comic, but I wish the comic would just finish one story alltogether. I don't think a story like this should be dragged over multiple graphic novels. I like that it's a series, but found the abrupt ending a bit... abrupt.

Runt is a Minecraft villager who would rather be a warrior than farm carrots. Blunt is a Zombie who would rather be a human. Together, they set off to reach the final level and prove that their fate does not depend on their programming.

Although I have seen this series on the library shelf, I have never read the books. When I found this graphic novel, I thought for sure my children, who are big graphic novel fans, would enjoy it.

Not being a fan of Minecraft or the original book series (or a member of the target audience), I was a little confused by some of the elements in the world. However, by the end of the first few pages, I was definitely invested in these characters and wanted to know more about them. I found the story engaging and liked watching Runt and Blunt grow.

I look forward to reading more of these graphic novels.

Just finished reading this with my Minecraft loving 7 year old and he LOVED it. He's read the novels and he really enjoyed this adaptation of it.

My 11 year old is a huge fan of the original Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior chapter book series, so I was excited to the new graphic novel version available on NetGalley. And I was so happy to find out from my son how much he enjoyed this version of the story the same as the original series. He liked to see the story played out more in pictures this time and was already asking when the next one will be available. Five stars!

ARC Copy...feels different from what I recalled the first book to be and feels similar to other minecraft comics out there but fans of the original, unofficial series and mine craft might like this.

This was such a fun quick read for me, I thought it was a very charming story and was a nice easy read. I loved having our characters from two different worlds and seeing them grow a bond together while slightly judging each other on how they live a “normal life”. I thought the story was very nicely paced never felt slow or a forced read. The adventure was nice and fun and I’m excited to see what’s next for them. I thought the illustrations were also amazing and really fit the vibe of Minecraft in every single way. Over all this book for me would be a 4.5 stars rounded down.

I received a copy of this book from #netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The best person I could think of to review this book was my son. He loves the books and he was blown away by a graphic novel version. He loved seeing the characters illustrated so well and enjoyed having a "comic book" of his favorite books. He can't wait to get a copy that he can hold in his hands.

I had the help of an 8 year old and 6 year old with this review. They both are big Minecraft fans, and were fighting over getting to read this book first! They thought the illustrations were engaging, and the story was funny and one of them read it one sitting!
If you have a Minecraft fan in your life, this would make a great gift!

My 10 yr old son read this and here is his review, "I think this book was good, it had some potential but needed more story". Translation: he liked the characters but wished there was more plot and they did more during the story. He really liked the illustrations of the graphic novel and he would read another book if there is going to be more.

This is a pretty cute graphic novel, especially if you have younger kids obsessed with Minecraft. It also has a nice lesson buried in it about judging people by who they are, and not how they look. It clocks in a under 100 pages, so perfect for the younger set. I really liked it, and I don't even Minecraft! The artwork is very well done, as well.
The only problem I had with this book was it abruptly ends in the middle of a storyline. I get that this is part of a series, but even taking that into account...it was a bit jarring.

My kids loved this. They can't get enough minecraft! I'll allow it, they are READING!!

The Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior graphic novel edition follows two characters in the Minecraft Universe. They are Runt and Blurp, a villager and a zombie. The would be enemies team up to travel to the end to defeat the Ender Dragon. Along the way they befriend a wolf and have many adventures.

My 7 year old nanny kid read this book himself. He loves graphic novels and he is addicted to Minecraft. He thinks the book is awesome! His favorite part was when they went into the Nether. He would recommend this book to all Minecraft lovers.

The illustrations were fantastic and reading the book was like playing Minecraft. We have not read the original 8-Bit Warrior series yet but we definitely will!

What an excellent way to take an interest of so many young and middle grade readers (Minecraft) and combine it with another favorite of that age range! (graphic novels) My kids have been big fan of the Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior novel series, and were thrilled to hear that the stories would be translated into a new format. (they are big graphic novel fans) Having read the books before this, my only complaint is that this seemed shorter than the novel, even taking into consideration the time taken to study the pictures. Still, I am excited to see how the graphic novel series continues, as anything Minecraft is a big winner in this house.
