Stacy Reid does not disappoint! Her Wicked Marquess is a deliciously romantic and captivatingly witty hard to put down book. It is the story of Nicolas St. Ives, the Marquess of Rothbury, who devotes his life to seeing justice is served for harm done to his friend. He comes across Miss MaryAnn Fitzwilliam, a wallflower, that is chatty, opinionated, and looking to be ruined. What do you get when you mix an extremely handsome lord with an understated beauty? It is pure dynamite! I would definitely recommend this book!

I was given this book by Netgalley for an honest review. They in no way influenced my opinions.

5 huge glowing stars

In Her Wicked Marquess a yummy, kind-hearted, loyal and dangerous alpha male marquess meets a daring, bookish, loyal and courageous heroine. Their relationship is a case of opposites attract, but what they find it that they actually have a lot in common.

This historical romance is chock full of ferocity, intrigue, scandal, delicious sexy times and all around goodness. I loved EVERYTHING about it. So much so that I’m about to read it again, from the beginning- truth!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Maryann is absolutely an amazing girl who is smart, brave, completely sorted and is a gem of a person. It did feel like she goes a bit overboard to stop her family from forcing her into marriage with the groom of their choice, but it was fun to read her crazy schemes and thoughts. Nicholas is the standard hero but on a revenge path dealing off one person at a time with his plans. While he is avenging for someone who he loved when young, he crosses path with Maryann and their chemistry kicks off right away.

Their witty conversations are really fun to read. There is a good amount of steam for those who are looking for it. Their whole courtship is very enjoyable and I liked that there is a teeny-tiny bit of suspense with the way things change at the end. There was a twist causing readers to think there might not be a happy ending but it was an interesting ending. It was a quick fun read!

Wonderful story, interesting intrigue and lots of sensually charged moments. The underlying danger and the suspense of figuring out who the guilty parties are adds to the intrigue.

This book is stunning. Maryann is a wallflower whose parents have promised her to a duke that is not only her father's age but also cruel. She needs a way out of this upcoming engagement and quick so decides to begin rumors about herself and Nicholas...a marquess and notorious rake. Surprisingly, he goes along with it for the most part and the two begin to get to know one another.

I loved this couple so much. One of my favorite things in this book is the friendship they form. While the chemistry is definitely there, the additional scenes of them becoming friends only makes it that much more delicious. They have an easy camaraderie and a way with words that had me thinking I could just read about them talking all day. I loved that the majority of their "courting" took place in secret in her bedroom. The tension between the two and the desperation each felt had me sucked in and really cheering for their HEA. The love each had for their siblings (and vice versa) was heartwarming. It made me like them all that much more. I really liked that Maryann was strong and independent and yet wasn't afraid to own to her love for embroidery and wanting a home and family. Plus, there is just a little bit of adventure that often adds to a good historical romance.

Stacy Reid seems to get better with each book. Her Wicked Marquess is a solid 5-stars and should be on everyone's must-read list.

Nicolas St. Ives, the Marquess of Rothbury, is on a revenge mission, and Maryann Fitzwilliam wants to escape an odious betrothal. When gossip reports that Nicolas was seen climbing out of a window, Maryann starts a rumor that it was hers. Nicholas can't shake his growing interest for the surprisingly spunky Maryann. But, with his investigation and vengeance on the line, what will be more important: the vendetta or the vixen?

This is the second book in the Sinful Wallflowers series. There are brief mentions of the heroine from book one, and a set up for book three's couple, but this book can stand alone.

There is a lot of set up going on at the beginning of this story, and I had to focus perhaps a bit more than I wanted to in order to keep the details straight. However, once Nicholas and Maryann continued to circle each other, I was hooked by their romance. I love that Nicholas is somewhat of a dark, powerful figure, and he's unexpectedly undone by a strong-willed wallflower. Maryann is different than other woman he has encountered, and I liked how their chance pairing became friendship and then love. The author's steamy scenes are always a treat, too!

I also really appreciated that there were some twists in Nicholas's investigation. I wasn't expecting the outcome, and I always respect when an author can surprise me! 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

Before I start this review, I would like to thank Stacy Reid for writing such wonderful books to keep my mind off reality. Thank you for giving me a chance to escape through the pages. It's always much needed.

I was enthralled with this book, that is was so hard for me to set it down when I had to be a responsible adult lol. This book contains laughter, emotional stress, love, tension, sexual tension and the cutest banter. One of lines that made laugh through out the book was "racoons do that".

My Wicked Marquess is about Nicolas, and Maryann. Nicolas holds the reputation of being the most scandalous wicked rake. Behind that facade he's actually just a really sweet guy but can be dangerous. He's one you should never mess with. He's a great friend, but can also be the worst enemy. Maryann is a witty bookish book nerd. She's also sweet and very kind to those she cares about.

Nicolas seeks revenge for those who took his first love. One by one he takes them down. Maryann is trying to thwart and escape her parents plan of a arranged marriage to man her father's age. She seeks wickedness, scandal, & ruination... because of that she uses Nicolas name in vain. Spreading false rumors about herself in hopes to stop the unwanted marriage plans. But little does she know by linking their names together, his friends are now hers. His enemies are definitely now hers too. That's when their worlds starts to collide together.

The met once when he aides her in a scheme. Pretending to be her masked brother they acted out the plot, and he thought she was the cutest, and bravest little thing. The entire time she thinks that he is her brother, until he speaks, and she hears his deep masculine voice. There were sparks flying everywhere...but she never found out his identity. So they were already attracted to eachother to begin with. With those fake rumors he saw it as a invitation. She owed him a kiss and she was to be warned. He sneaks into her room, waits for her and that's how their love story begins..

I wholeheartedly recommend this book! It has just the right amont of everything and makes a perfect combination. Great character and relationship build up, hot sexual tension, emotional rise, and lastly two individuals that truly belong together.

I loved this story. Both Maryann and Nicolas were great main characters; interesting and with great depth. Their emotions clearly shown through even though there were times when Nicolas showed a poked face. As time goes on, it becomes clear at least to Maryann that Nicolas has two faces. Both the dandy and the dangerous man that he can be. She begins to see even more than that though. Nicolas has a thirst for revenge that has driven him for ten years. Five men committed a heinous crime and because of their family has a high position in society, no justice has been served. Nicolas tried every avenue of the law that he could without any success. So now it has been his life's mission to mete it out himself. And he has been hugely successful on it. He was still looking for The Wolf and the Black Dahlia. We follow his efforts as the story goes on. That alone provided quite a few twists and turns all on its own. Maryann was an unrecognized gem and she was a whole lot of fun with her sharp wit, her sense of humor, and her clever mind and mouth. She was also clever in her efforts to get rid the man that her family is trying to force her into marrying. But no one is listening to her wishes so the rebel in her rises up and leads her into some interesting situations. It kept me involved all the way though.
I liked that the story and the friendship between Maryann and Nicolas was also well developed before anything HOT happened between them. And it does get steamy much further in the book.
The story has a savage twist towards the ending of the book with a huge surprise following. It also leads up to a more dangerous confrontation that was like a 1,2,3 punch.
There is a H.E.A. which I enjoyed along with a sweet Epilogue that tied up some loose ends when it came to a couple other people as well.
When this book is open to reviews on Amazon, I am giving it 5+ Stars.

This one was just meh. It was literally bland and middling. You could do better on here.

Miss Maryann Fitzwilliam is too witty and bookish for her own good. No gentleman of the ton will marry her, so her parents arrange for her to wed a man old enough to be her father.
When the scandal sheet reports a sighting of Nicolas St. Ives, the Marquess of Rothbury, climbing out the chamber windows of a house party, Maryann does the unthinkable. She anonymously claims that the bedchamber belonged to none other than Miss Fitzwilliam.
When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Stacy Reid is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.

A marquess who is more than he seems and appears. A lady who hides her intellect and appearance by being a wallflower. Their worlds unexpectedly collide when Nicolas is seeking someone for revenge and Maryann is trying to escape an unwanted betrothal. Both are curious about the other and neither can stay away from the other. Maryann intrigues Nicolas, for she is different than any woman he has encountered and he is labeled a rake by the ton. Maryann sees there is more to Nicolas than his current desire for revenge, for he is kind and protective. Sparks begin to fly and neither can deny the desire they have. But with a marriage proposal on the table and vengeance schemes in play, will they be able to have the life they both desire or will past mistakes threaten their future? An enjoyable read in the series!
