This was weird and I’m not sure I would’ve picked this one up myself. It was cute but it didn’t do much for me I would pass

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free read in exchange for an honest review. This is an Amish Fiction novel and this is the 3rd book in the Amish Marketplace series. I have not read the two earlier books but I feel you can easily enjoy this as a stand alone book. This book is very well written and I look forward to reading more from this author!

This audiobook was an enjoyable listen. I liked the narrator and my interest in the Amish community and need for escapism meant I was invested in this sweet story.

The Coffee Corner was an nice addition to the Amish Marketplace series. Bethany and Micah's story is the third in the series featuring a group of female cousins. This book features Bethany who owns the Coffee Corner. Bethany has a great personality but can get down on herself when it comes to relationships. She doesn't think anyone will care enough about her for marriage. When she meets Micah, she tries very hard to be a good friend to him. She is not aware of the personal baggage that he brings with him. He has a very troubled past and came to live with his grandparents when his relationship with his father deteriorated after the loss of his fiancée. When both his grandparents die within a year of each other, he has to face up to past hurts and find a way to move forward. Will he and Bethany be able to have a relationship?

This story is an Amish Romance but goes a bit deeper into the Amish traditions and lifestyle. I think the characters are more dimensional because of their flaws and insecurities. The main character Bethany operates her own successful coffee business but has the same doubts about finding her path in her community as many of her friends marry and start their own lives. Micah seems to be interested in her but he has his own problems to come to terms with before he can move into a deeper friendship. The emphasis on the amish community and its' belief that God always uses our challenges for growth and positive outcomes shines through.

THE COFFEE CORNER was sent to me by Net Galley, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
Zondervan Publishing, one of my favorite publishing houses, published this Christian fiction novel, written for women. It was written by one of my favorite authors, Amy Clipston. I chose to listen to this novel as an audiobook. It was narrated by the very talented Lauren Berst. It is the third book in the AMISH MARKETPLACE SERIES.
In this sweet novel, we meet Bethany Gingerich. She runs a very successful booth in her Amish marketplace (seems like a farmer’s market). She has cafe tables and chairs set up where her customers can sit and chat over her delicious donuts and unusual flavored coffees…even banana nut bread coffee. Her customers love to see what her flavor of the day is. Two of her favorite customers are Enos and Micah Zook. Micah is her secret crush. The two of them came to her booth every Saturday to drink coffee, eat donuts, and chat. Bethany even made it a point to find out Micah’s favorite coffee, peppermint mocha (also my favorite coffee :)) and make a special pot for him to have when he came to visit on the weekend.
One Saturday they didn’t show up and Bethany became worried. Come to find out, Micah had suffered a tragedy that sent him into a tailspin. He withdrew from everyone – even his church. When Bethany found out she did anything and everything she could to try to help Micah out of his funk.
Does Micah finally open up and tell her what’s going on? Does Micah secretly have a crush on Bethany, as well? Is there a love connection made? Does Enos intervene to help his grandson? Does the church intervene? Do things work out for Micah in the end? You have to read or listen to this book to find out!
Amy Clipston has written a lot of books. I have reviewed several, and enjoyed all. This one did not disappoint! I really enjoyed it!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone from high school up. I would also recommend reading the other books in this series.

This was the first by the authlr that I read and trust me it didn't disappoint me at all. I really liked the story and thought it was a cute one.
Thank You to the netgalley and the author for allowing me to read and review this wonderfully written book.
Narration was quite easy and will keep your attention. Loved it.

I enjoyed the sweet, faith-filled aspects of this story. Is is nice to have books to read in which no foul language is used and characters happily live God-fearing lives. What I did not enjoy was the predictability of the story. I would have liked more excitement or a plot twist to liven it up and make it less predictable. I found the main character to be frustrating to follow. She had such strong self-doubt. I was hungry for her doughnuts and coffee, but wanted her to be as sure of herself in life as she was in her coffee business.

I did like both Micah and Bethany, but it didn't mean that I didn't want to give them both a shake every now and then. They are both sweet and loving characters that need to realize that they have a lot to offer to someone else. Fortunately Bethany has a strong family to fall back on and they help her to make some good decisions and the ability to help others. The issues that both Bethany and Micah deal with are realistic and could happen to anyone, which is one thing I like about this series. They had an uphill struggle toward love throughout most of the story, due to the amount of heartache and hurt the Micah carried from the past and he wasn’t sure he could love again. I enjoy reading about the market and the many flavors of coffee that Bethany introduced were interesting. The secondary characters didn't play as large a role as in previous books, but they add just enough interest to remind us that they are all important in the lives of those who live and work in the area. The Amish Marketplace books are all enjoyable and I recommend them all to lovers of Amish Fiction. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Lauren Berst. I was pleased with the narration and enjoyed the use of subtle voice changes when reading the various characters. Her expression and tone were just right for this story.

A very well written Amish romance. Great plot and character dynamics. I highly recommend. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review review.

This was the first Amish book that I’ve read and I would definitely like to read more. The cover of this book drew me in! I loved the messages of faith, family and relationships that this book conveyed. I did not care for the narrator of this audiobook, however, and while this story was good, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it myself instead of listening to the narrator of this particular audiobook.

A good, simple read. I had often wondered what were Amish Romances and Amish fiction in general all about. This was my first experience for this research ;) and I’d say it was a good one. I’m still not sure why there is an all genre of books for them but I think I need to read some more to find out.
Anyway, this was a good listen. I really liked the family connection between the cousins and the small insights into Amish life (which as always interested me for being so different than my own).
The audiobook narrator wasn’t bad but she sometimes made the main character sound very childish.

This was a sweet Amish romance, perfect for a relaxing listen. It is part of a series that I hadn't come across but this did not matter, it's well written (and narrated).

This was my first introduction to an Amish story, and I can say with confidence it will not be my last. I received an audio-book copy, and the narrator captivated me from the start.
Even though this was the 3rd book in the Marketplace series, it was easy to get to know the characters and where they slot in. This book can stand on its own, however, I am intrigued by the characters I have met and will most definitely get my hands on the first book in the series.
I chose the book based on the title, as I LOVE my coffee and I enjoyed hearing about the different flavors in Bethany’s Coffee Corner – wonder where I will get me some of that?
It is a subtle story of heartache, doubt, and much later in the book, finally some love thrown in the mix to tie it all into a neat package of Amy Clipston’s third installment in her series. The build-up is gentle, but at times I felt that there was too much repetition on Bethany running herself down.
This book makes for easy reading and I am sure that it can be read in a single sitting. If you are looking for an easy to follow, easy to get involved in story, this book is for you.
Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC.

I received an ARC of this audiobook through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Bethany Gingerich runs a coffee and donut stand at her local Amish marketplace. Micah Zook and his grandfather come to the shop every Saturday morning. Bethany has a crush on Micah but thinks nothing will ever come from it. Bethany determines to be Micah's friend, however, even if she can't have more. A friend is just what Micah needs in his life, but with God, maybe they can find more.

This is the third book in a series about the Amish marketplace where Bethany has her stand. However, it can easily be read as a standalone book. On the audiobook, the narrator has a perky voice that 100% fits with Bethany's personality. If you like Amish romance books, you will enjoy this one. There was nothing that stood out in this book that will make me remember it above others I have read, but it is a good read for those who enjoy this type of book!

The Coffee Corner
by Amy Clipston
Book 3 in the Amish Marketplace series
Rating: 4/5

I was lucky enough to receive a free ARC of the audiobook of this story and it did not disappoint! I am a fan of Amy Clipston and she is very good at writing sweet, yet authentic, stories of romance set in the Amish community. This story can be read standalone since I have not read the other books in this series but now I need to. LOL.

Bethany Gingerich has a thriving business as the coffee and donut stand at the Amish market. She and her cousins have successful booths but everything is changing since her cousins are getting married one by one. Bethany feels overlooked as a potential mate but finds her eye drawn to the new-in-town, Micah Zook, who is helping with his grandfather's custom furniture shop. Micah has his own sad past, but he's determined to do what he loves and that's helping his grandfather continue his business. He finds a sense of peace when he grabs his Saturday morning coffee and donut from Bethany's booth and can't wait to try her newest flavored coffee. Antics and miscommunications ensue on this couple's journey to love.

I thought this story was very sweet but the only problem I had may have been caused by the narrator of the audiobook than the actual heroine as written. I found Bethany's character to be so confusing and frustrating at times. She'd go from competent businesswoman to insecure teenager to naive friend and back again. I'm not sure if that was more because of the narrator's interpretation, but I found Bethany's character very unlikeable. (This is incredibly strange for me as a reader since I almost always give the MC the benefit of the doubt). I tried really hard to sympathize with her character and her internal struggles but she came out more annoying than anything else. As a single woman, I definitely share some of her struggles and insecurities, but I felt her immaturity was a little over the top. However, the story itself was great and I really liked Micah's character. I really loved all the interesting coffee flavors Bethany came up with - they sounded great (even to a non-coffee drinker). The family aspects of this story were very strong, and the faith aspect was also woven throughout the story in a meaningful way.

Audiobook: The narrator was okay. She was good but I didn't think her German pronunciation was very good. Her interpretation of Bethany seemed whiny to me, which is frustrating when I'm trying to root for the MC. The production was well done and flowed well.

Highly recommend if you enjoy Amish romances with some humor and spunk.

My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

This was a very sweet, wholesome story that I enjoyed very much. It has been years since I read an Amish fiction. The narrator was very good, the story was good... I really liked listening to this audiobook. Bethany and Micah are each looking for love but so afraid to take that scary step of putting themselves out there for each other. I think you'll enjoy reading this book.

Sweet romance, though felt it dragged on longer than needed several times. The characters are both too stubborn to actually talk to each other, though it's obvious to everyone around them that they are perfect for each other. Will their stubbornness win, or will they end up together in the end? Would have liked to see a little more development on the relationship with Micah and his father, or hint of why Enos handled his business the way he did, but the main story line was resolved well in the end.

Narrator did a wonderful job, helped keep my interest in finishing it, particularly appreciated the changing voice for the various characters.

This book manages to capture your attention and interest right from the beginning. Although their lives are different than what we are used to it was a sweet listen and very enjoyable.
