I absolutely loved this book. She powered through some challenges that combined would have crippled most. Her authentic self shines through and shows us that we can persevere with kindness and love.
She offers hope to everyone to every girl/woman that has compared herself to the models featured in magazines and actors onscreen. We are all beautiful and need not compare ourselves. We are all ENOUGH.

I haven’t finished this book yet. I would say I am about half way through but I will say as someone who has enjoyed personal development for almost five years now this book is one of the books I know I will come back to again and again. Jamie is wise in her words and speaks from her heart. She is a warrior in making sure all woman see their beauty within. Loving this book and grateful for the opportunity to read it before it is released to the world

(Note: Received a Net Galley Digital copy -- but also bought my own personal copy and pre-ordered it for a bunch of friends! That's how much I loved this book! )

When I picked up this book, I thought it would be a nice story about the founder of IT Cosmetics, a brand that I have worn for years. What I didn't know is that I would stay up reading, crying, and cheering along the author, Jamie Kern Lima. Her story is one you won't soon forget -- I won't give any spoilers but there were times when I gasped out loud and my husband asked if I was ok... This book was so a pleasure to read -- like hanging out in your comfy sweats and swapping sad and funny stories with your best friend over a nice frothy beverage. I didn't want it to end! Part memoir and part empowering manifesto, it's an invaluable read for anyone who has ever doubted themselves. I also think it should be required reading for any young woman ages 15 and up. Love love loved this book!

The story is inspiring. However, as I read the story the author circles back, or adds extraneous comments that made the book a bit jittery for me. I love that the author has such a positive message in days such as these.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. Before reading Believe IT, I had not heard of Jamie Kern Lima. Now I feel like I personally know Jamie and want to be invited to her house to wear comfy seats as well as eat homemade chocolate chip cookies and cookie dough. Jamie may be the first female CEO of a brand in L'Oreal's history and on the Forbes richest self-made women list, but the success didn't happen overnight. She heard no many times before finally receiving a yes. In Believe IT she takes us on a journey through all the low points to the eventual highs.
I had many key takeaways from the book, but here is a small sampling:
1. "Knowing when to let go of a dream is as important as knowing when to follow one."
2. "Wherever you may be stuck right now, that doesn't indicate where you're going in the future."
3. "Rejection, failures, and even the times our gut turns out to be wrong, are all gifts along life's journey."
4. "Your intuition is more powerful than anyone else's advice."
Those are from just the first chapter. This book is very inspiring.

I laughed, cried and cheered all the way through the book. I’ve admired Jamie from the beginning of her career when I first saw the infomercial on IT. The bravery and vulnerability of herself and others who shared their stories. This book takes you through the lows and highs of her life. The stories of her Woolf Pack are amazing. This is a MUST read book.

Jamie Kern Lima's book is truly a gem! What makes her book stand out extraordinarily is the authenticity and raw and real emotions she shared with the readers. Her willingness to be so vulnerable and so truthful with her stories truly touched me deeply. She also inspires us to look deeply into ourselves and embrace our own story to transform our weak moments into our triumphs. Some excerpt that I really like include "Where you come from matters less than what you're made of. Pay attention to your struggles, as they can become your superpower. They're often the parts of our story that we want to erase or forget because they're painful but when you consider them as moments you've been strong enough to experience and endure and triumphantly emerge from, they can also become part of your highest expression of what you have to give to other while you are here".

Her title is truly resonated throughout the book. This book will bless so many lives. It lifts everyone from any low points in their life to a much higher perspective with hope, resilience, and faith in our own self. So many beautiful stories that I will need to re-read again to truly absorb the meaning of each.

Some other favorite quotes from her book that I especially like
"Sometimes these no's are actually serendipitous grace, wrapped in a package labeled painful rejection"

"We all have a microphone that we control in our lives. And we got to choose the people we hand that microphone to"

I have never read a book from start to finish on my iPhone until now.

I just finished reading the entire book!!! I kept telling myself, it’s getting late I should go to bed. I couldn’t put the book down. It took me seven hours to read it. I laughed. I cried. I soaked it all in. Thank you Jamie for being so real and vulnerable. I connected with your book on so many levels. I can’t wait to read it again and use a highlighter to highlight all of my favorite quotes. Too many to count.

You wrote in a way that I felt like I was watching a movie inside my head. What a beautiful story of perseverance, grit and most of all love. This is a story that needed to be written. The world needs this book right now.

Thank you!!!

Wow! Just wow! This book had me crying one minute, laughing the next, and cheering her on the next. I haven’t cried so much reading a nonfiction book in years. So much of this book hits home and in a good way. This took me longer than normal to read because there was so much good advice that I had to go back and reread it, give it time to process, move on then go back and read it again. This is a book all women of all ages should read. But don’t just read it to yourself, share what you are learning with the people in your lives too. I read excerpts of this to my sons because there are so many things that guys need to hear as well. Little by little Jamie is changing the world and this book is another avenue. I am so glad I read this book! This book made me feel seen, heard and understood!

Thank you to Gallery Books, NetGalley and the author for a DARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. WHAT a book! It's not just business, inspiration, partial memoir...it's all of that. I have so many highlighted passages, and I've already ordered a hard copy to receive when it's published. I know that will be a book that I gift to women in my life, as well as my daughters. We forget how powerful we are, and we let others try to bring us down. Jamie Kern Lima shows us that sometimes hard work, being nice and finding your own place in the world wins. It's only January, but I suspect this will be one of my top 5 this year.

This is one of the most thoughtful, encouraging, uplifting, and empowering books I’ve ever read. From the first page, I found myself rooting for Jamie to succeed. Her vulnerability is refreshing, She shares not just the glamorous side of her life, but also the uphill fight to get to where she is now. Her drive and grit are incomparable, and she remains humble, acknowledging all the people who helped her along the way. I will be encouraging all the women in my life to read this book.

Jamie is such a blast of light!! The way she weaves her story was like being with Miss Frizzle on the magic school bus. Having Jamie take us back in time to highlight how a past encounter was shaping a current action reiterated over and over that we are all so unique because of how we were individually shaped.

Some of the quotes that I loved the most were in chapters 1 and 13. In chapter 1, she writes, "knowing when to let go of a dream is as important as knowing when to follow one." YES!! Then chapter 13 the nugget that was born out of her Meg Whitman encounter was, "No matter what, somethings got to give." And at my house, that would be cleaning.

The importance of believing in your inner knowing is weaved well into the book, as Jamie writes about the power greater than ourselves guiding us with deep knowing.

I just finished this amazing book, it came to me at a perfect time in my life.

I am in the process of growing my coaching business to transition out of a corporate job that is no longer feeding my soul. Your encouragement to follow my gut and to not listen to the haters is what I needed to hear today.

Thank you for empowering women to follow their dreams, stand up for themselves and acknowledge how awesome we are!!
