Another hilarious edition to the Class Mom series. These books always make me laugh out loud. Jen Dixon is a very real and refreshing character. I hope Laurie Gelman will continue writing this character even though she can no longer be class mom! Thanks to Goodreads and NetGalley for the ARC!

I requested this book to read early on NetGalley, and didn't realize that it was part of the "Class Mom" series. So I ended up listening to the first two books before reading this one. This is such a fun/easy/quick read, but I would read Class Mom and You've Been Volunteered first to really understand all of the characters in the book and how they have grown/changed. I have a 2 year old, so I can't relate to the class mom stuff, but I am now fully prepared for what my future holds once my daughter goes to kindergarten!
Thank you NetGalley and Henry Holt & Company for the digital ARC! The publish date for Yoga Pant Nation is July 13, 2021.

Jen Dixon is back at it again as class mom in Yoga Pant Nation by Laurie Gelman. Fans of the Class Mom series won’t be disappointed with the latest book. Jen has a lot going on her life with being a class mom, grandmother, training to be a spin instructor and heading up the biggest school fundraiser of the year.
If you are looking for a fun series to dive into this summer pick up all three books in the Class Mom series.

This is the second book I’ve read in the series of three books and it didn’t disappoint. We’re tagging along through another year of Class Mom duties, relayed with a sense of humor as only this author can give, but this time we are also invited a bit more into life outside of school.
One aspect I love about this series is that you don’t have to have read the previous books to understand what’s happening in this one. There’s plenty of “judgy” background information to follow along. I also enjoyed that this book introduced the issue of aging parents, including the guilty feeling that accompanies wishing you could do more and how to help people who are determined to not want to be a burden. There are a number of real family issues at play in this book, yet the author manages to navigate them with her sometimes predictable humor to keep some levity.
This was an enjoyable read and I thank NetGalley and Henry Holt & Company for allowing me to read this ARC.

I received a complimentary Kindle book from Henry Holt & Company through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to Laurie Gelman, Henry Holt & Company, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
What a fun and quirky finish to the Class Mom Trilogy. As always, Laurie has a great sense of humor and really captures the essence of the Room Parent that I would dream to be. Jen Dixon (the protagonist) says, writes, and thinks all the things that I wanted to do as a Room Parent! She nails what EVERY. SINGLE. PARENT who gets suckered into being a Room Parent! It is the MOST thankless job, but it is so worth it for our kids.
Please read Book 1 and 2 before reading this final book in the trilogy. It is so worth your time - easy to read and so funny!!
RECOMMEND!

I really love these Class Mom books. Jen is all of us. Moms who are balancing kids, partner, aging parents, friends, job, and a major school fundraiser.
My favorite part of these books are always the emails. They are direct and to the point and what every parent who sends a mass email is thinking. I feel like this year there were fewer emails, which was definitely a loss.
I really like that as Jen has aged so has her family and her family's problems. The books Laurie Gelman writes are entertaining realistic fiction; which was exactly what I needed at the time I read it.

Awesome awesome awesome. These books never fail to make me laugh and Yoga Pant Nation was no exception. I’m going to miss Jen Dixon, that is for sure!

Another laugh out loud read from Laurie Gelman! Ever since reading Class Mom I have been fully invested in Jen Dixon and her antics, and I love being able to continue on the journey with her family! The book is able to tackle deep topics such as custody disputes and aging parents with a lightness and humor that makes it enjoyable to read. With max aging out of the need for a “class mom” i hope that doesn’t mean the end of the class mom series!

This is such a pleasurable read! It's so easy to relate to the issues that Jen and her family go through during the book. I caught myself laughing numerous times through the story. It was such a fast read and was hard to put down. I'm hoping for another book in this series!

As someone who has been an eager school volunteer but reluctant to accept an “authoritative” position in our school’s PTO, I absolutely loved Gelman’s first two books in the series-Class Mom & You’ve Been Volunteered.
Not only is Jen Dixon STILL a class mom during her youngest child’s 5th grade year, she’s also been volunteered to run a PTA campaign to raise $10K for some new tech. Jen is also a GG now--to 2-year-old Maude, who she babysits a couple days a week. There’s some custody drama between her daughter and Maude’s dad and other grandma, a strange situation with her parents’ health that she can’t quite figure out, and her own struggles to find footing as a new spin instructor.
Despite the vast range of situations happening in Jen’s life, the one constant is that you can bet she’ll show up in her trusty yoga pants.
This is a quick, light read. There are several moments in Yoga Pants Nation that had me cackling. Laurie Gelman’s wit and snark is matched by few writers. I mostly love the snark-- the tone of a few scenarios were a miss for me (I live in a state where 50 percent of kids in some counties live with “caregivers” instead of parents--close family included-- so that didn’t really warrant any chuckles here), but I do appreciate the irreverence it’s meant to convey overall.
I definitely recommend it for moms of school-age kids who are missing out on “volunteering” this past year. Thanks so much to Henry Holt & Co. for a digital review copy. 3.5 stars rounded up.

I am not sure if it was just the novelty of the work on what, but none of the sequels can compare to the original "Class Mom". While cute and still full of humor from Gelman's charming writing style-- this was just no where near as good as the previous books in the series. Still, it was a great look into the lives of the characters and it was awesome to "catch up" with them. If you liked the originals, i would definitely read this to help get some closure.

I'm a little late to the "Class Mom" party, in that "Yoga Pant Nation" is my first Laurie Gelman book. Having said that, it took me a few minutes to get connected with this new novel, set to launch in July, 2021. Once I was fully engaged, though, I found Jen Dixon, her family and her friends to be extremely down-to-earth and enjoyable. I totally related to many of Jen's dilemmas (balancing a career, aging parents, empty nesting/while still a young one at home) and truly enjoyed her foray as a new and crazy-in-love grandmother. I know fans of Ms. Gelman will totally enjoy this book, and those unfamiliar with her work will enjoy it as a stand-alone of a woman in the prime of her life, enjoying every moment. Thank you NetGalley and Henry Holt & Company for this advanced eBook. Now off to read Class Mom and You've Been Volunteered.

I absolutely loved this book. This whole series has been so much fun to read and this one didn't disappoint. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that Max was in 5th grade and does that mean the end of this series? I'll be so upset.
The characters picked up like I was getting back together with friends I hadn't seen in awhile and I still felt for and laughed with and at Jen for the situations she got herself it.
HIGHLY recommend this book not only to my mom friends but all my friends because it is just such a great series.

Cute book with a solid story. It is an very entertaining book about life and family. You follow them on the ups and downs of life. A great book for a beach or weekend read.

My favorite book of this series yet!! Yoga Pant Nation has all the humor of the first two novels in the Class Mom series while also having a bit of gravitas that makes the characters even more enjoyable. This book is perfect for fans of Laurie Gelman, or anyone who has (or has had, or might one day have) school-aged kids.
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

I loved the other books in this series and Yoga Pant Nation didn't disappoint. It was great to catch up with Jen and her family, get to know Maude, and her now older kids. I loved the humor and snarkiness - it was all still there and I didn't want to put it down. A light, fast read that keep me laughing!
I received a copy from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love this author! I've listened to her first two books on audio and could hear her reading this one as well. Jen is so lovable and all of the characters feel like family. I thought this one went a little deeper into Jen's life with some heavy topics, but it was kept light-hearted with Jen's usual humor. I really hope she continues to write this series and I can't wait to go back and listen to this on audio when it comes out!

Oh man I hope this isn't the last of these novels! I've loved all of the Class Mom novels but I think this one was my favorite. It's actually inspiring me to hop back on my abandoned Peloton and get my spin on! OMG the thing no spoikers) with the ex-wife, I literally screamed. I like that you could technically read this book and enjoy it without having read the first two in the series. There was a bit more emphasis on family I think, which I enjoyed very much. I must say, Jen's life makes me tired. She's always running around doing something! Anywho, I would definitely read this again and recommend it to a friend (as I've recommended the other Class Mom books).

I really enjoyed this one.
I think the second book in the Class Mom series went off the rails a bit, but this one brought the voice back to Jen Dixon that we all know and love.
This one had about the same pacing as the first one, but all of the balls Jen is juggling keeps you interested until the very end.
What I love about this series is that it is relatable even if you are not a mom yourself.
I expect this to be the last Class Mom book in the series as Max is now old enough to age out of needing a "class mom" at all, so I will definitely miss Jen and the whole gang.

I love this book so much. Jen Dixon is one of my favorite characters - she's like the cool mom you want to be friends with who actually tells it like it is and doesn't hide her mistakes. The book was light, fast paced and highly entertaining. It also contained many real life situations and problems that we all deal with as our kids grow up and get older. In this way it was also thought provoking (while still being extremely entertaining). I will definitely read anything Laurie Gelman writes next!
