I am not a dog owner. That being said, I want to commend the author on doing such a beautiful job so that even a non-dog owner was touched by this book. The wording is simple but relatable. The illustrations are beautifully done.

Along with buying it for yourself, consider this as one of those special gifts for which a dog owner will love and thank you.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley but the thoughts expressed are my own.

as a converted dog person, this book touched my heart - I used to be scared of dogs (no reason, just that I never had a dog growing up and neither did any family members) - so there was no way I could connect and understand them.

What a beautiful book!! It follows a dog from puppyhood to old age. This would be a perfect gift for anyone who has loved and lost a furbaby. Thank you Hunt Haven Press via NetGalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

A sweet and slightly heartbreaking book. A little hard to read on kindle, but I can see it being much more effective as a physical book. Would be a good gift for someone who has just lost their dog.

A touchingly sweet reminder of the special joy animals bring and the deep loss experienced when they are gone. I really appreciated how the love animals express in their eyes and expressions is so clearly illustrated in this book. It is a short, but movingly powerful reminder of the bond between people and beloved pets. Thanks to the author for sharing her heart in this story. I received a complimentary copy from the author and NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.

I received an ARC from Hunt Haven Press through NetGalley for an honest review. This book is small and sometimes the nicest gifts come in the smallest packages. This book is for any dog lover, the illustrations and the verses are a reminder of how precious life can be and how much of an impact your dog can have on you. Being a dog lover, we do listen to our dogs, and the book reminds us there is a time for everything. Short but oh so powerful.

An amazing book done on a tough topic! It reminds me of a dog version of “I’ll Love You Forever”.
All aspects of the dog that were conferred ring incredibly true. Angela Hunt covers all topics in a tactful, heart felt manner.
Even as I type this review now, I have my son’s little dog in my lap with those big, trusting eyes.

This is a very short book, but very meaningful to anyone who has owned a much loved dog. The illustrations are delightful, following the lifespan of a much loved pet. Although small it has a huge impact and is very moving. Would make a lovely Christmas gift for a dog lover.

As a pet parent who has loved and lost beloved pets, I had to take a look at this book. I realize the author is writing about a beloved dog, I lost a beloved cat a bit over a year ago and it still reaks my hear to think of him. Reading this book and its poem, just broke my heart again. Warning: do not read in public! I made the mistake of beginning the book on a bus trip home from work. I was fortunate to have my stop come up quickly and exited with tears streaming down my face.... This book is a labor of love and tho' a difficult read, well worth reading.

I defy any dog lover to resist examining this book after viewing this cover! There were early hints that this short volume would be a tribute to love and loss and to the canine-human connection. The spare writing was incredibly moving. The ink drawings complemented the text well. While the book is unabashedly sad, still it pulls the reader with its universal subject.

I don't know if I read this brief book at the best time or the worst, but I know I was sobbing by the last page. In spare, elegant prose, author Angela Hunt tells of the journey of a dog's life, from "let's play" all the time to the painful goodbye. I lost my dog 2 weeks ago and this book was a sweet but painful reminder of the irreplaceable bond we share between our species. The line drawing illustrations by Mursaliev Asker perfectly accompany the text. Beautifully done on all counts!

What a great little book! Dog lovers will like this. Very expressive illustrations to go along with a heartfelt story about the nature of our lives with our canine pets. Families with aging fur babies would find this book comforting for younger family members as difficult decisions need to be made.

Sit. Stay. Forever. will set your tail wagging!

This is probably the shortest book I've ever read, but yet it truly had such a profound impact on me. The illustrations were beautiful and sweet; the words were incredibly affecting.

I teared up reading the last few pages. The author managed to get her message across clearly in so few words. That is the hallmark of a good writer: when they can say so much with so few words.

I loved the section at the beginning of the book where you can add your dog's picture, so essentially it becomes a story about your own dog and their life story, and your life with them. We are lucky to have dogs. Sometimes I don't even know if we deserve them, but I'm grateful for them just the same.

Anyone who loves dogs will love this influential little book.

5 out of 5 stars. Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this book for free
