this was a great start to a series, it had what I was looking for in this type of book. It wasn't overly preachy and I enjoyed getting to know all the characters. The story was well done and it left me wanting more in the universe.

Overall this is a great debut novel which has a very interesting plot and group of characters. The storyline isn't like anything I've ever read and has a lot of different elements that there is always something new and exciting to learn about either a character or a plot point.

There is however A LOT of characters to keep track of so I don't think it's a book that can be skim read or read quickly as I'm still a bit confused myself of who's who and who's connected to who and how and I took my time getting through it.

I'm very excited to see where this series is going to go and I'll definitely be preordering the next instalment.

This is a great debut and I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for more things from this author.

If you like slow, character driven stories with mythology, and religious themes, give this book a try. If you don't like having a large cast of characters, maybe give it a pass.

I only have two criticisms about this book. Number one would be that the characters weren't developed enough for my liking. I don't think there was enough page time to do it properly. It is a pretty short book. Number two, some of the long descriptions of things that didn't add much to the characters or plot could have been either compressed or cut out completely.

Keep in mind that both of those criticisms are personal preferences. I'm a character driven reader and have certain preferences as to how I like the characters to be written.

Thank you to Girl Friday Productions for an advanced copy.

Loved this book from beginning to end, took my time reading it and enjoyed the characters. The way the story developed, how each myth and story was revealed , it was delectable. Enjoyed the writing and felt like a grown up reading a grown book. I look forward to reading more from this author and the books that will follow this series. Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley, I appreciated my copy thoroughly.

Charles L.M. Lartigue brings lots of ideas to the page in The Theft of the Ayn Noor. As a fantasy and science fiction reader, I enjoyed this story. As a believer and someone who is spiritually-driven in their daily life, I appreciated the approach. Well worth the read and journey to a new world.

The Ayn Noor is many things too many people.– a magnificent diamond, a myth, the key to the gate way between worlds, something to be possessed, something to be returned. Lartigue has created fantasy fantasy of complex world building peppered with descriptions that touch the senses. There were too many characters and not enough action to keep the plot moving forward in such away that’s the names didn’t mix themselves up and were hard to keep straight.
