I'll start of by saying I adore Kerrigan Byrnes writing but this book missed the mark for me. Normally I'm enthralled and can't wait to read her books, this one I had to make myself finish because I felt no connection whatsoever between the main characters.

The heroines back story was so intriguing and that's what ultimately kept me reading where other things lacked. Was she going to get the answers that she desperately searched for and the ultimate revenge. Well I know and you could too if you're looking for a book that has a rich backstory.

I received a free copy of this book via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I requested The Devil in Her Bed because I read its predecessor and I really enjoyed Kerrigan Byrne’s writing and I loved the female friendships. The Devil in her Bed is a historical romance about the Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish.
The book kicks off with Francesca conducting her usual night time activities: drugging disgusting men and extracting information crucial to her revenge; finding out the truth about the massacre of her whole family and friends when she was 9 years old.
Then it moves on to introduce Chandler, AKA the devil of Dorset, AKA homeless dude, AKA some random duke name he uses to seduce her, AKA the very same boy who saved her from the fire two-decades ago. This man is… I love him but sheesh. Identity crisis much?
Whilst they’re working on the same cause, they find themselves exchanging barbs. Whenever Chandler isn’t salivating over Francesca, that is. And trying to reveal her true identity because he just knows that is not the Francesca of his childhood. And yeah, he is very horny for her, too. Which is a delight. I adore, above all, a hero so driven insane by lust that he’s mad at himself. I love that for him, for the heroine, for myself. It’s what we all deserve when we pick up a historical romance about two vengeful assholes. Hey, they’re my assholes, however, and I loved them to bits.
There were the kisses on the balcony which curled my toes, the non-stop bickering and fighting (at one point, Francesca nearly shot his ear off…love her so much), and of course, their undying loyalty. The writing is fantastic, a mixture of gothic and flowery.
I thought the plot was on just the right side of exciting and swoon worthy. There was the romance and the revenge, and really, what more can a girl ask for? I was engaged from beginning to end. I would recommend The Devil in her Bed to historical romance readers who want a heroine who kicks ass (literally), a hero who HATES himself to remarkable extremes, and a cast that’s just the right side of meddlesome and loving. Oh, and a murder-solving pair that’s trying to protect one another at every opportunity even when they’re kissing.

I loved this book so much. Another suspenseful, sexy and captivating romance by Kerrigan Byrne!! As always with her books, this one had an emotional punch to it and I felt so relieved that this book Francesca and Chandler had their happy ending. It truly felt EARNED. I do wish the ending wasn’t as rushed, my heart was pounding waiting for Chandler to find out about Francesca and it made me anxious to read hahaha even though I did love how it all tied together!! So many secrets and plot twists in this one my head was spinning!! I really did have fun with this installment though even though I wished Francesca told him a little earlier on. It was a great conclusion to this series and I’m very excited for what Kerrigan Byrne does next!

If you have not read this series what are you waiting for. It has it all. Adventure, steamy romance , banter, humor adventures and romance . This was emotionally charged and I did enjoy the ending . It may take a bit to get into it but you will get pulled in.

This is book 3 of the Devil You Know Series. When the Earl of Devlin sets his sights on Francesca Cavendish, he doesn't know that he has sets his sights on someone who has her own agenda. They each have their secrets, but will those secrets pull them apart or make them come together?

I loved the beginning of this book. It tells the origin story of Francesca and Chandler. However, it went down hill after that. I just couldn't connect with Francesca. She was head strong, didn't listen to her friends and took to many dangerous risks.

I did not connect with the characters. The writing was excellent as always and the plot and relationships were well developed but I never felt invested in the romance.

I love series with strong friendships, whether female or male and this series has both. I would encourage reading the previous books in this series first to get to know all of the characters better. The other bright spot of this series and this book is the strong heroines. No weeping, prissy misses and instead you get determined and fierce.

Francesca is definitely the best piece of this story and I promise you will love her. Our hero, The Earl of Devlin is good but not great. Their chemistry is off the charts but he's just not my favorite. Luckily there were so many other positives, I still found the book highly enjoyable. There are twists and turns, danger and as always, a satisfying HEA.

Kerrigan is a must read author for me and I can't see that changing!

The banter in this book was the best part of the story. The tension was on par with the rest of the series, so I’m quite happy.

While I love a strong woman, I wish Francesca could’ve been just a wee bit less pushy. Chandler didn’t stand a chance. I’m glad he could hold his own with her but she definitely wasn’t my favorite heroine. While she has a devastating backstory, I did try and cut her some slack, but it was difficult at times.

I have enjoyed this series quite a bit. These girls have come a long way from when they first met in school. From the beginning of the first book these girls are determined to keep each other’s secrets and give their lives in order to protect each other. That’s friendship to the extreme and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

The Devil in Her Bed was a mysterious, enjoyable historical romance, but it just didn't click all the way for me. It took me longer than normal to get through because I just never really felt that itch to pick it up like I do with other books I love as I read them. I'm a sucker for dark and mysterious books, and this one definitely provided that atmosphere with all the action that took place. I just felt that the second half of the romance was rushed, and I didn't always feel the chemistry between Chandler and Francesca; they were both very hot-headed and passionate, and a lot of frustration came from that. However, I was surprised by how everything came together and was happy to see the main characters get their happily ever after. I own several Kerrigan Byrne books that I am very excited to read; this just wasn't my favorite historical romance ever!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and St. Martin's for the ARC of The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne!

Any book by Kerrigan Byrne is a winner and The Devil in Her Bed is a testament to that. Packed with amazingly good characters, tons of chemistry and plenty of emotion and sizzle, this story will keep any historical romance addict entertained! Definitely recommend.

I am just a little bit devastated I didn’t love this one. I had such high hopes for Francesca ever since she was introduced in book 1, and I loved the setup for her romance in book 2. You can probably guess who the mysterious “Devil of Dorset” is from the ending of All Scot and Bothered. I have one main reason why I was disappointed by this (which I’ll get into below), but I will say that even though it’s my least favorite of the series, I was still hooked onto the pages. Kerrigan Byrne always writes sexy, exciting, almost suspenseful historical romances with fantastic heroines and antiheroes, and The Devil In Her Bed hit the spot regarding that.

Francesca is the last of the 3 Red Rogues to get her story and she’s always been the most mysterious one. She lives her life as a Countess, but it turns out her true goal in life is to get revenge against the people who killed her family and the people her family worked for. Francesca has a secret past full of murder and deceit, and she’s so much more than she seems. She’s a fierce, strong, intelligent heroine I loved pretty much from the start. And one of my favorite parts about this series is the wonderful female friendship between Francesca, Cecelia, and Alexandra, so I was happy to get even more of that brilliant friendship in this book.

Our hero goes by so many names that I don’t even know what to call him without slightly spoiling things, lol. His identity isn’t that much of a secret if you’ve kept up with the series, and the prologue gives you a good sense of who he is anyway. He’s still an intriguing character – he’s dark, tortured by his past, and works as a spy for the government. All of those things should’ve made me love him, but the main reason I couldn’t get into the romance as much as I wanted to was that this hero thinks Francesca is someone else for almost the entire book. So it was hard for me to buy that he loved Francesca for her, rather than for someone else. I don’t blame him for thinking she’s someone else because of her hidden identity, but he kept going on and on about being in love with this person from his past that I just wasn’t sold enough on him loving the real Francesca.

I’m sad the ending to this series didn’t quite live up to my expectations, but I’ll still be reading anything Kerrigan Byrne writes. I love her storytelling and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Very much enjoyed this newest entry from a fabulous author. This one was dark, I'm not gonna lie. I mean, the author's books are always dark, but a book premised on a family massacre took it to new levels. I loved the plot twists, shifting identities, strong, fierce, and very flawed heroine (a little too competent? probably, but I like it), strong female friendships, and characteristically excellent writing. I do wish the relationship had had more time to develop once the H finally learned the h's real identity, or that they had had better communication (ha), but overall this was a solid entry in the Red Rogues series, and probably my favorite one.

My thanks to the publisher for providing an ARC via netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

It has been such a long time since I read a Kerrigan Byrne book, so with her latest release, THE DEVIL IN HER BED, the third book in the Devil You Know series, I thought that I would make a return to her books.

This book has a lot more action than I expected, especially in the beginning. I have some mixed feelings about this because while I think it creates a lot of drama and conflict, it also seemed out of place in some scenes. As a result, I felt the beginning of the book stumbled a bit, but then it finally found its footing toward the end.

I think a lot of people would like Bryne’s writing style because it infuses a lot of dramatic elements into it. So if you’re a fan of authors who focus more on plot rather than characterization, then I think you’ll enjoy this. But since I prefer a focus on the characters, I wasn’t such a big fan of this book as I was expecting to be.

Nevertheless, THE DEVIL IN HER BED does hold a lot of intriguing elements as well as action and suspense, so I would recommend it if you prefer a faster tone to your books.

The Devil in Her Bed
The Devil You Know, Book 3
Kerrigan Byrne, author

Passion, passion and more passion! That's what this novel seemed to be about. Look beyond though, as there is a deep seeded mystery to be solved. Please join Lady Francesca Cavendish (aka. Pippa) and Chandler (aka. Declan) as they work together to solve the mystery of who massacred the Cavendish family and burnt the Mont Claire estate to the ground twenty years prior.

As the two are pulled together, the dynamics between them begins to unfold. And what a web of deceit is unearthed.

This was my first novel by this author. I quite enjoyed it, however I was taken by surprise with all the steamy sexual scenes. One graphic scene after another. Not to mention the very violent scene in the first chapter.

The characters definitely had charisma, chemistry and seemed to fit together nicely.

I was gifted an advanced reader copy from Netgalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lots of action and intrigue. I haven't read the previous two books in the series and there was enough mention of previous events and characters that I wish I had, but I could still easily follow along with this story. I was a little disappointed in how the ending resolved the character's name. Overall, enjoyable and attention-keeping.

The spy angle intrigued me and I was not disappointed. The chemistry is strong with Francesca's physicality and Chandler's passion. I enjoyed the character development of both characters and felt they were equally matched. The HEA was on point.

The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne was an interested read and by far the most intriguing of the series. This book dug deeper and was a bit more sinister with vivid detailing that transported me into each scene. And that's where I like to be...front row seat! Great job on this series Byrne and I can't wait to read more from you. Yes, yes and yes I recommend this book to lovers of romance and even mystery!

Layers upon layers of secrets and excitement comprise this story. Pippa was tone of two survivors of the massacre at the Mont Clair mansion, which was burned to the ground with all inhabitants inside; most of them were already dead. She was saved by another of the inhabitants, Declan, a young man she had a secret crush on for years. Jump ahead twenty years, and Pippa -- now known as Countess Francesca Cavendish, the daughter of the Mont Clair family, and Declan -- now called the Devil of Dorset, end up joining forces to solve the reason for the massacre and punish the people behind it. As they continue, they rediscover the passion between them.
