I'm a big fan of Kerrigan Byrne and have read multiple books of hers!

That being said...it was not my favourite book in the trilogy.

Francesca is a countess by day and stalks her prey—those responsible for the death of her family—by night.
They call him the Devil of Dorset. He stands alone, a man of undeniable power. Moving in and out of shadows, back alleys and ballrooms, he is unstoppable and one of the Crown’s most dangerous weapons.

This love story involves hidden identities, murder, and a lot of intrigue.

The love story was enjoyable but Mr. Man was a bit of a dick upon discovering Francesca was really Pippa.
I mean I get it but alsoooo
Yeah.

Enjoyable. Still worth about 3.5/5 stars but I probably would not reread this.

Yes, like a broken record, I can only say "Wow!" Kerrigan Byrne delivers what she does best... dark secrets, three dimensional characters who put on several faces and seem to play many roles, suspense and surprises around every corner... and a journey to light and love.

Fast paced with scenes of murder, villains, lies and everything imaginable bring Chandler and Francesca full circle to keep you on the edge of your seat! Not to be missed!

The Devil in Her Bed is the third book in the series about the Red Rogues, 3 BBFs since they were the "misfits" in the girls school they were sent to. This is Francesca's story.

While Serana, her mentor, her friends and even their "other halves" know her true identity, everyone else believes that she is Countess of Mont Claire, Francesca Cavendish, temptress extraordinaire. Chapter One reveals that she is actually Pippa Hargrave, daughter of the butler and the lone survivor of the Mont Claire Massacre. Through the years, Serana has been her mother, teacher and friend, guiding her to become Francesca so she could seek revenge on those that killed her family and friends.

She believes that the Crimson Council was behind the massacre, so she drugs her lovers to learn their secrets and is helping Lord Chief Justice, Cassius Ramsey, Celia's fiancee find the triad who lead the Crimson Council. However, enters the spy, The Devil of Dorset, who thinks she is a fraud. She knew him as Declan Chandler, one of her playmates, who she had loved from the first time she saw him. He saved her life once. She convinces him that she really is Francesca. Can she trust him to tell the truth? He has his own secrets.

Wonderful characters, intrigue, danger are all found on the pages of this book.

I read an ARC that I received from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

The Devil in Her Bed is book 3 of the Devil You Know series. I really enjoyed this series. I loved the strong female leads and the men who love them for who they are. Kerrigan Byrne is one of my favorite historical authors, mainly because I love how she writes her characters. Francesca and Chandler were written perfectly and I enjoyed their chemistry! Overall a great conclusion to one of my favorite series.

I loved Francesca and Chandler! They grew up together. She was Pippa before, but she took on her friend's name after her death to get revenge on those who killed her friend, Francesca, and both her parents. Chandler is supposed to be dead too. He has heard of Francesca and has found her to disprove that she is the actual Francesca. He too is seeking revenge and believes the fake Francesca holds the key to finding those who killed his adoptive family. Get ready for a lot of twists and turns! This last book will tie up all the loose ends! 5 stars

I know a lot of readers love Kerrigan Byrne's novels. I honestly did my best to do too but no...just no. Too much over the top drama, murder and mayhem that do not seem to have any point other than conveying a certain amount of darkness. Ok, I get that what happened in the prologue is supposed to explain why the heroine is pretty much a maniac but we did not need that level of description. A couple of sentences would have done the trick of conveying what happened . I think I've read actual battle accounts that sounded as less of a carnage. Sheesh!. I found this book completely predictable, sexy times were fine but I could not feel the connection between the H&h. I kept imagining Francesca as a feminine Liam Neeson. I'm giving up on this author, not my cup of tea at all.

Wonderful story! I loved the characters and the storyline, it was so well written. I didn't want to put this book down once I started reading it. Very sad to see this series end.

This author is becoming one of my absolute favorites!! Her books are everything! Getting the chance to read Fancesca’s story was a dream! Francesca is strong, independent, and stubborn…but she’s also smart and cunning! I love these features in historical romance characters bc they push…everything! She’s a force and ready for the revenge she’s been planning for year! Devlin is dark and goes by many names…he’s a spy. I loved the dynamic between these two as they are both trying to find out the Crimson Counsel. However Devlin doesn’t know the true identity of our heroine for most of the book. That doesn’t lesson the chemistry between them, which is hot! I really enjoy every page of this book but I do recommend reading the first two in this series before this one so it will make sense in the end. This book had a lot going on but that’s what kept you on your toes! I absolutely loved this book & series! Im sad to see it come to an end! I can’t wait to see what this author does next!

“Is it possible we can love each other enough to trust?” — Kerrigan Byrne, The Devil in Her Bed
Kerrigan Byrne has me hooked with her latest release, The Devil in Her Bed. The third book in The Devil You Know series, The Devil in Her Bed is the perfect combination of romantic chemistry, and dangerous intrigue. Francesca and Chandler could give Mr. & Mrs. Smith a run for their money.

While easily read as a standalone, The Devil in Her Bed follows the third lady of the Red Rogues. Who doesn’t love a girl gang? These ladies are headstrong, smart, know exactly what they want and will stop at nothing to get it. For Francesca, her mission is to avenge her family and friends who died in the Mont Clare Massacre. Just she and the boy she pledged her love to escaped death. Her backstory is honestly one of the most tragic that I’ve ever encountered, and I’m convinced Kerrigan Byrne has made it her mission to make her readers cry within the first chapter, but with all that being said, the awe-inspiring determination that Francesca holds is something that is as commendable as it is formidable.

Chandler has been tasked to take down the Crimson Council, and Francesca is both a distraction and nuisance to him. He has just as many secrets as she does, yet he is determined to uncover hers. I adored that even though Chandler is a spy with the same mission as Francesca, the more time he spends with her the more he falls for her…especially when she shows him how adept she is at taking care of herself. I’m trying to keep my spoilers to myself, but one of things I love about Kerrigan Byrne is how even though her male characters are always smart and the best at what they do, they become completely idiotic over the women in their lives.

If you’re already a Kerrigan Byrne fan, then I don’t have to tell you how grand the stories are that she writes, and that The Devil in Her Bed is another fantastic read of hers. If you’re new to Kerrigan Byrne, don’t fret, but don’t wait to read her any of her wonderful stories! The Devil in Her Bed is full of spicy romance, humor, intrigue, and all the feelings associated with a fabulous book!

This most certainly isn't the usual, light-weight, frivolous HR. The entire trilogy is darker and grittier from what one would expect, so it comes as no surprise that the last book would be the most complex and the toughest to digest and evaluate.

Starting with the most complex, most intriguing woman of the three friends, Francesca. A woman who took on the identity of her murdered best friend to avenge her death and that of her family and all those dear to her. The woman who went to war for the memory of the boy she loved (that sentence gave me chills!). She's secretive, dangerous, skilled, seemingly fearless and strong, yet all her edges soften in the arms of the man she loves. The arms of the man she's lying to, the arms of the man in love with a ghost.
The man had so many names, identities, secrets and burdens, but unlike her (despite her having a secret identity), he was the one who had no idea who he really was. Francesca was his perfect other half, more than able to stand up to him, willing to take his hand and guide him into the light if he only accepted it...They had the same goal, they both lived for revenge...They made a perfect couple if it wasn't for his pesky blindness or unwillingness to realize who she really was (because the clues were there!) and his stubborn clinging to a memory, a ghost of a little girl he thought he loved twenty years prior.

I don't like it when my heroes love ghosts. Ghosts are hard to compete with and this particular ghost almost ruined it all. Or more precisely, the idiot man almost ruined it all, because he couldn't face the facts, the truth, or himself and his true feelings.
Was the resolution to the romance a bit rushed and slightly contrived with the sudden "memory" of who truly accepted him first? Yes. I wished Francesca would've made him grovel more, but what can we do?

Though the romance, thanks to the characters and their pasts and motivations, was dark, the suspense part was darker still. Darker, grittier, sicker...Stranger, since the reasoning and motive for and of the Crimson Council has seemingly flown over me. I didn't get the "business model". And if your throw in the depravity, the orgies and the occult, it made even less sense, unless you simply accept the adage that power corrupts.

Despite these little holes in the fabric, the story was solid and intriguing, the characters complex and layered, realistic in their motivations and interactions, the romance wasn't "easy" and the suspense rather creepy. A nice conclusion to the trilogy.

I am always looking for another quality historical romance novelist to binge. Kerrigan Byrne is not new on the scene, but she is new for me and I love her writing style. I quite enjoyed this novel and will be tacking her backlist ASAP.

Another great book from Kerrigan Byrne. I’ve read other books by this author this one was just as good as those. I really enjoyed the story and the characters were well thought out.

This Author is great at giving her readers suspense filled , historical , sexy romances with strong female characters and this book fulfils the brief .

Frances Cavendish , Countess of Mont Clair , has only one focus in life ......... to find and destroy those responsible for the deaths of every member of her family .
When her path crosses that of the so called "Devil of Dorset" , the Earl of Devlin she feels the first stirrings of passion since her first love was killed at the same time as her family .
Devil is the Crown's most dangerous and effective agent but when he crosses paths with Frances he finds himself determined to discover her secrets .
Upon realising that their targets are one and the same the they resolve to work together to bring down the evil Society - who have caused such pain and death .

This is an enjoyable historical romance with twists and turns aplenty - with a strong female character able to hold her own against a strong man , whilst finding her HEA

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This whole series has had strong, sassy, smart women that made me just love it. Also the friendship is just perfect but now I love how much the added husbands so far are also part of the group and support their wives but other women! Francesca is trying to not only find out who killed her family and friends and get sweet revenge, her whole life has been forced on this. There is a lot of the mystery/suspense in this one as they are trying to find and figure out the Council but also who is the Devil of Dorset. Sad to see this series go away! .

Kerrigan Byrne writes amazing women and this series made me want to go back to her other series. I just love her writing and is one of my favorite HR writes I have read so far!

Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC copy of this book!

As always, I loved Kerrigan Byrne's style of writing -- and she is one of my go-to authors in this genre.

Let me start by saying I loved Francesca as a character... she was fierce and took things into her own hands. Plus, the chemistry between her and the so-called Devil of Dorset was through the roof.

This was the perfect book to end the series, and I'm looking forward to more from this author (as always, her books are amazing).

As far as bodice rippers go this one hit two ends of the reading spectrum for me. The beginning was pure evil as children were ghastly killed to Francesca with the hawt devil in her bed. A book built on revenge but enthralling until the end.

What did I like? The cover was certainly fun but the blurb sucked me in. I wish I had read the first two books in this series before reading this one. I could see the ending before it prevailed but it made it no less eventful. Revenge in this book was definitely served cold! Four stars!

Would I recommend or buy? Yes I’d love to read the whole series and recommend you do. I really enjoyed it. I’d recommend to people who love regency romance and revenge books that eradicate evil! I’d read from this author again!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? Kerrigan Byrne is a fantastic storyteller and Devil in Her Bed is a prime example of her talent. The book blends romance with the darker side of human nature to create an emotionally gripping, tale of murder, mystery, revenge, and passion.

Francesca is everything I ever wanted in a historical romance heroine. She truly is self sufficient, fierce, intelligent, bold, and canny. She doesn't pretend to be strong, she is the definition of strength. Born from a heartbreaking trauma and motivated by revenge, Francesca is a true heroine of the story. She is loyal, dedicated, and loving with her small circle of friends but she also has a very dark, very flawed side to her that didn't back away from dealing out cold, harsh acts of revenge that she knew was tainting the little bit of good she had left in her. I found that side of her refreshing. So many times female characters are written with the ridiculous idea that they should only be soft, sweet, weak, and in need of saving in one way or another. But not Francesca, she had more to her than just the stereotypical "feminine" attributes. She reminded me a little of Edmond Dantès, the hero of Alexander Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo.

And for someone like Francesca an ordinary partner wouldn't do. She carries around so much pain and darkness that only someone with a similar lived experience would understand. Declan is complicated, and he's not always a good man and that allows him to in a way be more effective at his job. He's flawed, just like Francesca and neither one judges the other for that. I liked that he wasn't always trying to "save" Francesca, that he wasn't always lecturing her about being a "lady" or making her feel guilty about pursuing revenge. I did notice that Declan is shrouded in secrets and mystery and that shroud is never really pulled back. Declan is the character that you feel you didn't learn as much about as you would have liked to. But I am okay with that, the way he was written and the character that he is by the end of the book needs to keep some of his secrets, a person with his backstory doesn't magically become what the world deems as "normal" just because he falls in love.

Francesca and Declan's hard won ending was a bittersweet one filled with the ghosts of the past that didn't need to be buried so much as let go of. To me Francesca and Declan's story showed that no matter the tragedy, love is still possible and still worth fighting for, whether it's romantic love or the love of a friend. The Devil in Her Bed was realistic in its ending, these two characters will never be able to live like their pasts never happened. They were broken down and re-forged in blood and fire to make something new. I couldn't think of a better way to end this book than the way the author did.

The Devil in Her Bed took me on a wild ride that broke my heart, brought me to tears, and made me fall in love. With everything. Of the three books in this series, this one is easily the best and reminiscent of her Victorian Rebels series.

I have rekindled my love for historical romance. This book was a fabulous addition to it.

That first chapter it really gets you. It pulls you in it takes you for a ride and then it just throws you. You don’t see it coming it was quite shocking.

I loved everything about the book I love the main characters I loved the conflict I love the romance I loved the resolution. There wasn’t one thing about this that I didn’t love. .

This was a great addition to Byrne's Devil You Know series, featuring the last of the three Red Rogues and perhaps the most independent! Francesca was a wonderful heroine, but I wasn't super in love with her hero, the Devil of Dorset. If readers have read the first two, they will enjoy this one, as well!

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Devil in Her Bed is the story of two people separated following an unspeakable tragedy. They both assume new identities in hopes of ultimately unmasking those responsible for their tragic loss.

The opening chapter of this book grabs you from the very first pages. Opening chapters to Kerrigan Byrne's books are often gut wrenching but so very well written you're compelled to continue forward. It makes me quickly invest in the characters.

The storyline in this book was overly complicated by the different identities of the main characters. What kept me reading was seeing how the many conflicts would be resolved. The ultimate resolution was realistic but also made me a little melancholy, which I was okay with.

I would recommend this book for fans of Kerrigan Byrne's work.
