Francesca has been after the people that killed her family for years. Now that she is back in London, nothing will stop her from finding the answers. When she runs into an old friend who seems to want the same things he does, they partner up to find answers.

Chandler works for the government, but is working on his own to find out what happened to his family just as Francesca is. When he learns that she survived the fire from their childhood, he is elated! The only problem is that Francesca isn't who she says she is...

Can these two find the person behind the fire that killed their family? What happens when Chandler learns the truth about Francesca's identity?

I really enjoyed Francesca and Chandler's story. The mystery of the fire has been talked about since book 1 and I'm so glad to finally have it solved. I really enjoyed watching these two together. This was a great conclusion to this series and I can't wait to see what Byrne has in store for us next!

I'm seriously a sucker for when it comes to Kerrigan Byrne's books! I know exactly what I'm getting when it comes to her books - steam and dark elements in a historical. Now, this one I felt was different among her others - and I think that's what is making it stand out among the others I've read by her. I've read almost all of her books (some of her self-published ones I've yet to read). Kerrigan is hands down one of my favorite historical authors and will always recommend her books!

Great addition to the series! I particularly liked that the heroine, Francesca, was a serious bad-ass who kicked the hero's butt. She is totally different than most other heroines. She is not afraid of dangerous situations in pursuit of her revenge. I appreciated that she was smart about it. I hate it when heroines act recklessly and put themselves in needless danger, setting up a totally predictable ending. That's not Francesca. She's deliberate with everything she does. I can't even think of a comparable character. Like this author's earlier works, I was sucked into the intense early experiences that Francesca and Chandler had that shaped them into the people they became. Fans of The Highwayman will love this book!

Overall I enjoyed this book but also admit to feeling a bit dissatisfied with it. What did really work for me? I loved Francesca!! She was unapologetically fierce and formidable. Another big plus for this series was the wonderful friendship between the heroines. What didn't work for me? The hero. The Devil of Dorset was such an enigma that I felt zero connection to him. I wanted to bond with and like him but it never happened. Did I feel for him? Yes, but in a remote, removed kind of way. The sheer convolution of secrets and lies going on here made it impossible for me to invest in this pair as a romantic couple. And last but far from least was the way the suspenseful part of this series wrapped up. For me it was just a big let-down.

I really enjoyed the 3rd and final book in this series. I loved the first two but I think this one is my favorite. Francesca has such a free-spiritedness about her. I love her boldness.

This was a good end to the series, if, you know, it's a trilogy :D

I liked Francesca from the start, she was so passionate and interesting and she was an amazing friend. I wanted to know more about her background and wow, Ms Byrne really tortured her characters in this series.

We've see Chandler since the 1st book, we didn't now it was Chandler, but he was interesting. He's really obstinate and makes stupid decisions, but he's lovable.

This whole series is a tribute to women and I enjoyed seeing them empowered. I would have liked it more if they weren't all traumatized, but you can't have everything. I loved seeing heroines who were archaeologists, math geniuses, and kick ass women(literally).

My only criticism of this book is that it didn't have an epilogue. I wanted to see all 3 of our heroines happy, together, sometime in the future :)

This book was incredibly well written, but I just don't think it was for me. I've read one other book in this particular series and just couldn't really connect with the characters. But that very well may just be me. The suspense is very well done and the subplots are entertaining. I couldn't put it, but it just didn't leave me feeling really satisfied. I love this author and have read several of her other books and while this one wasn't my favorite, I look forward to what she comes up with next.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne is the third book in her The Devil You Know Series. I think you should read the books in order to get the most enjoyment out of the series. Francesca Cavendish, Countess of Mont Claire is finally close to finding out who massacred her family changing her life forever. Declan Chandler, master of disguise too is seeking the same answers, although he doesn’t believe that Francesca is who she says she is and she’s not sure how this stranger knows things that no one left alive should know. Dark and passionate this story brings an explosive end to the series. Dark heroes, bold heroines, very nasty villains, massive amounts of angst and lots of steam are hallmarks of Kerrigan Byrne’s books and this one delivers in spades. Steam Level: Medium High. Publishing Date: March 9, 2021. #TheDevilInHerBed #KerriganByrne #StMartinsPress #StMartinsPaperbacks #Historical Romance #bookstagram #bookstagrammer

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you.

The Devil in Her Bed is the third and final book in The Devil You Know series by Kerrigan Byrne. It can be read as a standalone but personally, I would recommend that you read the other books in the series first. You will have a better understanding of the Crimson Council and how evil they are.

This book ticked all the boxes for me, it was exciting, there were twists and turns, angst and calm. There were sensuous moments, passionate ones, exhilarating ones, and upsetting ones. I really did run the gamut of emotions and I loved every minute of it.

I especially loved Francessca's discovery, but I am not giving spoilers so will leave it at that. Suffice to say that it was one of the best moments of the story.

This book was a perfect ending to the series but I would have loved for there to have been an epilogue so that we could see all of the couples in the series lives in their futures.

A great story that is full of surprises, danger and romance. A fire destroys an estate and takes so many lives that there are only two survivors who do not meet again for about twenty years. Both are out for revenge to take down the Crimson Council and see that those who are guilty of the devastating fire are punished. Secret identities are exposed and not who I expected to learn. The H and the h are both exceptionally strong characters which causes them to butt heads quite often. There is a happy ending but a lot happens first which makes this a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it.

Once again Kerrigan Byrne delivers her story lead characters with intrigue, mystery, and romance, in a intertwining relationship. This is the last book in the Devil You Know series and the last women of the Red Rogue to fall in love. Francesca (Frank) very skilled in master of arts, and physical strong is on the track of finding who killed her family. During the day she takes on the roll of Countess of Mont Claire, her childhood friend, but at night she is busy looking for the killer or killers.
Chandler, the Devil of Dorset, master of disguises, is on a mission for the crown. but upon learning that his friend from his childhood, Countess of Mont Claire, who was supposedly killed in a fire, is not dead. He must see her. Only this beautiful woman doesn’t fit the memory of the sweet, fragile, girl he once knew. She is bold, opinionated, stubborn, and doesn’t easily give up on things that mean a lot to her. Despite the mutual attraction, can they find love.

The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne is the last book in the Devil You Know trilogy! This is the long awaited book of Francesa Mont Claire and the most fierce and serious of the Red Rogues.

What a way to begin a story! The first chapter of this novel will hit you with a punch so very full of emotion. Finally, we get all the grim details of what happened to Francesa all those years ago. Now, her sole mission is to seek revenge for the slaying of her family.

The Devil of Dorset, also known as Chandler is a man with many secrets and identities. He's lured and captivated by Lady Francesa and as the story unfolds we soon discover that Chandler is someone important from Francesa's past.

The final book was different from the two previous ones. There was a lot of conflicting moments between Francesa and Chandler that I wish were resolved earlier on. I was also hoping for more of an epic ending to the illusive Crimson Council so that I could see what the future held for these ladies.

The Devil in Her Bed was filled with twists, turns, and some shocking moments. So much chemistry between the main characters kept this book utterly steamy. The stories regarding these fierce women have embedded themselves in my heart. A great historical romance suspense series you do not want to miss!!

Nothing is as it seems in Kerrigan Byrne's The Devil in Her Bed. Lady Francesca Cavendish appears to be little more than a trollop to the world at large. Every man she's "slept" with tells a fantastical tale about her exploits with them. That she is still untouched would never be believed, but she is good at keeping her secrets. Each man was but a stepping stone to the information she needs to convict the men who massacred the entire household she lived in, including the servants. She watched as her best friend had her throat slit, and as her brother was trampled beneath the soldiers' horses. She herself was saved when the boy the family took in as a servant hid with her in the chimney, then escaped the burning mansion, only to take a bullet for her. She wants nothing more than revenge for the loss of all of her loved ones.

Declan Chandler is a ghost. Employed in His Majesty's Secret Service, he, too, has been on the trail of those responsible for the Cavendish massacre. Everyone believes he died, but he has instead worked to take down the secret society responsible for his greatest loss. A master of disguise, he sets his sights on "Lady Francesca". He's sure she died that day, so who is this woman, really?

This is my first Kerrigan Byrne historical, and I've already placed holds on the other two books in this series. This one was THAT good! There are a couple of pretty creepy scenes, but they just emphasize the evil that Chandler and Francesca are combatting. The chemistry between the protagonists is off-the-charts, and I don't think I've ever seen a stronger female in a historical than in this one.

If you enjoy historical romance with some heavy-duty suspense, and just enough heat, you need to pick this one up. Since I haven't read the other two books in the series, I can't say to start at the beginning to work up to this one, but I have to think this one might have been even better if I had!

Wow. This book would make an excellent action/adventure movie!
It was a quick moving story, set in 1892. The heroine is the child of a butler and housekeeper on a country estate. The children of the noble man's family are being raised there when a boy a little older shows up. The family takes him in and he works for his keep, as a young footmen. The 4 children get along. On a beautiful day, a group of riders approach the house. The noble man's son goes to greet them and is stampeded and killed. What happens next is a nightmare of blood, gore and fire. Roll forward to 1892, and our heroine has been working for over 20 years, trying to find out why her entire life had been wiped out based on revenge. She took on the name if the noble man's daughter. She attends balls and has a fast reputation, but she is always ferreting out secrets and spying.
Normally, I like a traditional historical romance. This author takes a lot if creative license and this story has many contemporary ideas: the heroine is close to 30, she is single and known for her many bed partners, she is extremely well traveled and doesn't lose in a close combat fight. She definitely is not a woman from 1892. But I felt drawn to this story.
It was very well written. The story tells itself and I was not bored and did not have to look ahead to keep my interest. There were no spelling or grammatical errors. But the author did use "per se". My pet peeve: don't use that phrase because it is unnecessary.
I think that if you would like a departure from normal, traditional historical romances, this would be an excellent choice. The sex scenes were graphic, so I slid my eyes over them instead of reading every word. I think I just like the dynamic of this book. It was a page turner from the start. I recommend reading this book with 4.5 stars.

This is an intense, intriguing book, full of twists and turns to build the suspense for a grand finish. Francesca is a strong heroine, probably the strongest heroine in any book I’ve read. She is determined to stand on her own, and do everything by herself. Of course this sometimes works against her, but that’s a story for a different day. Chandler is the enigmatic hero, literally and figuratively. He’s spent years as a spy for the crown, now in search of the same bad guys Francesca is searching to avenge her childhood losses. They cross paths many times as adversaries, only to discover there might be possibilities of working together. Then they discover their shared past.
This story is so much on so many levels. The backstory of each character is richly built, and although we knew much of Frankie’s story from the previous Red Rogues books, this book gives us much more detail and understanding of her deep motivation into her revenge. It also outlines the dark elements to this book that are woven in and out of the story, adding to the building suspense.
The romance is a bit hit and miss with these two, largely because they have each taken on their alternate personalities, and don’t know how to interact with other as a result; and yet the chemistry is clearly there.
It’s a complicated and complex plot with many layers, making for an intense and intriguing read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. This is my freely given, honest review.

The devil in her bed by @kerriganbyrne is probably my favourite historical romance book from the last few years. I love this book so much and Francesca is my favourite heroine ever. Her strength but also sensible side, had me crying for her at times but also wanting to hug her and cheer her out loud.
The chemistry, the banter and all the emotions and suspense in this story kept me up all night and I never wanted to let them go.
If you are going to read a historical romance story this year, choose this one and you won’t be disappointed.

When I received an advance copy of The Devil in Her Bed by Kerrigan Byrne I was happy and sad at the same time. Happy – thrilled, actually – because book #3 in The Devil You Know series was finally here, but sad - because book #3 in The Devil You Know series was finally here. Oh, how I wish there were more Red Rogues besides Alexandra, Cecelia, and Francesca; maybe one for each letter of the alphabet, so the series could go on and on. Because it’s that good.

The Devil in Her Bed is Francesca’s story. Her entire family was murdered when she was just a child, and she’s been searching for those responsible ever since. She’s grown into a fine woman with a place in society. But the hole in her heart has never healed. The Earl of Devlin is called the Devil of Dorset. He’s powerful, ruthless, always behind the scenes and in the shadows. It’s not obvious what draws them together, but it’s strong. And romantic. And sexy. And dangerous, by the way.

This story is full of secrets All of the Red Rogues had secrets, and so did Alexandra and Cecilia’s husbands Piers and Ramsay. But the secrets Francesca and the Earl are hiding make the secrets of the others pale in comparison. What could be a more horrible event in Francesca’s life than losing her family? What could such a secret be? And who is this Earl, this Devil? His reputation isn’t positive, but in spite of that he feels comfortable, not really familiar to Frank, but there is something there. It was great fun learning these secrets bit by enticing bit.

I felt pretty smug when I thought I had figured things out. And I had. But not all of it. Not even close. This is a wonderful story full of romance and heat and sorrow and longing – and fierce determination. To say much more would give too much away, and I want you to enjoy the experience for yourself, of learning about the past and the present and what kind of future there might be. It’s a thoroughly captivating journey.

Thanks to St. Martin’s Press for providing an advance copy of The Devil in Her Bed via NetGalley for my reading pleasure and honest review. I loved it, love this series, love this author! Recommend without hesitation.

I loved this spellbinding, dark story of revenge and true love combining witty dialogue and emotionally charged scenes. The suspense was breathtaking with some plot twists that I didn't see coming. I got swept up in the emotions of the characters. These two very different characters complete each other perfectly and are the best allies in the face of danger. The balance of dark and light between Francesca and Declan is brilliantly woven. They are both wounded heroes and their story broke my heart. Their emotions are bound by their common tragic past that weighs heavily on them. In their own way, they have set out to destroy the Crimson Council, a secretive occult society using the power of its members for evil purposes. Francesca and Declan want for nothing else but truth and justice.

Francesca’s life is consumed by one mission: destroy those responsible for the death of her family and friends. In her search for answers, Francesca is flirting with danger. She has infiltrated the Crimson Council and seduced its leader. She is brazen, independent and resolved, even though she isn’t sure she’ll survive her quest for vengeance. She has got an inner strength that I found admirable. Declan is a man with dubious contacts and uncommon skills. He will do anything in his power to keep Francesca safe. He’s the perfect combination of damaged, enigmatic and compassionate. He has a seriously twisted past.

What follows is the fascinating, exciting story of how Francesca and Declan deal with what happened in their past, how their relationship develops. Their romance is intertwined with a struggle to defeat dangers. There's a healthy dose of angst throughout the entirety of this story. I was as invested in Francesca’s mission to avenge her family as I was in her romance with Declan. And though the ending of the story felt a bit rushed, the author wrapped up both plotlines in a satisfying way. This book is the third and final book in the Devil You Know trilogy, but it can be read as a standalone.

What a great ending to this series.

I loved reading about each member of this red headed friend group!

There is a major plait twist in this one I didn’t see coming but it worked really well with the ending.

I think I will love every book Kerrigan writes!

Thank you St. Martins Press for an advanced copy of this book for my sassy thoughts!
