This was more or less a DNF/skim read. I was hoping for more stories of readings etc with clients, but it was mostly an overview on many spiritual/wellness topics, which didn’t interest me (this ain’t my first rodeo) - and when he did touch on more personal stories, he didn’t really go into depth. I’m sure a lot of people who read this get a lot from it but I wasn’t really the audience.

In Here & Hereafter, Tyler Henry looked at what he has learned from people who have passed and what they would have done differently. He is a medium and he shared quite a few examples of his readings. He begins the book by sharing how he had a premonition of his grandmother’s death when he was ten years old. This led him to do readings and he started connecting with the universe. He explained how death will inevitably happen to us all at some point. We instead need to be more concern with the time we have left and enjoy the quality of life. He shared how he discovered life tools from the people who have departed and how they would do their own lives differently if they could. He looked at how he had to have faith in himself and the realm. In the book, he explored how to refine our intuition, recognize your ego, and healing.


In the book, he also shared his battle with his health and how he received a calling warning him. He had to have an emergency brain surgery in 2014 after the doctors discovered a mass near his brainstem. He had hydrocephalus, “water on the brain”. He later in 2020 faced a collapsed lung and was so sick, he was in the hospital for three weeks. This taught him a lesson in intuition and coincidence. We can learn to trust the meaning in our experiences even if at the time we don’t understand the reason why.



I would recommend this book to anyone is curious about readings or mediums. I liked how he was very real about his personal story of a trigger involving a murderous old lady. His own mother never realized until years later how evil her fake mother really was. She forged her birth certificate and was kidnapped. This story was mind blowing and was horrible to read about how his fake mother was so evil. It was interesting to read about his dad didn’t at first approve of his new ability but he later come around. I also liked the story he shared of Heather and her reading and how she was instructed to make the most the time that she had left. She was dying from cancer and was still upbeat about it. I liked how he encouraged readers to learn to be more present in life and enjoy the time you have with people.

I knew I loved Tyler Henry and his show, but his mind is much deeper than even I imagined. This book has some great insight into the hereafter and how it can teach us lessons in our here and now. He has a lot of great knowledge, and I think expressing some of his points through readings he had privately really brought home his thoughts on a certain subject. I also appreciated having some insight into his personal story which connects him as a medium. I'm hopeful I'll get to see him on TV again soon.

I have been a fan of tyler henry ever since watching his original show and netflix documentary series. So I was very excited to read this book. Full of interesting stories. He is the real deal.

An enjoyable autobiographical book from medium Tyler Henry. Extremely fluent in his subject, Henry’s well thought out book contains interesting anecdotes, and I was pleased to find a fellow lover of both Casper the Friendly Ghost and Halloween! This book could be listed as required reading for an and-of-life course.

I love Tyler Henry. He's a special person and I love hearing and reading anything he has to say.

This book started off a little tough for me. It felt like a lot of scientific talk and I was lost. However, once he started talking about other people's stories, I got hooked. I liked the synchronicity talk and trusting your intuition.

This was a DNF for me. I love Tyler Henry on Hollywood Medium and I think Tyler is an amzing person but I just couldn't get into this book. It was probably the head space I was in and I will try reading this book again someday because the concept is interesting.

Having read Tyler's previous book and being a fan of the show I was so excited to get the opportunity to read this one as well. Unfortunately I have struggled for months to fight my way through this one. I don't know what it is but the book was incredibly boring and kind of soulless in a way that I didn't expect from Tyler. The last two chapters plus the Q&A are the exception to this rule but for some reason I just couldn't connect with this one. Sad.

I recently binged Tyler’s new show on Netflix and I fell in love with him as a person (and his mom and boyfriend!) and found his readings fascinating. At the risk of being overly dramatic, I found this book to be life changing. There are so many insights on living your best life and how that impacts you in the after life. I also take great comfort knowing our loved ones are ok and watching over us.

That said, to read this you have to be open to different viewpoints than those out religion might have us subscribe to.

My only critique would be that it was a little dry in parts and could maybe have been peppered with more of his great stories.

I’ve been a fan of Tyler Henry since I first watched him on Hollywood Medium. Having followed other celebrity mediums over the years, I couldn’t believe how well this younger man carried himself. I imagine that having such a gift must have been difficult for him throughout his young life.

I was so excited to read Here & Hereafter, as I’ve been going through a difficult time in my life and I thought maybe Tyler’s wisdom could help me. This book did not disappoint. Tyler offers often candid wisdom far beyond his years, along with personal stories, and experiences peppered throughout.

This is not your average self-help book, but that’s what makes it so special. Even if you’re skeptical of mediums, I urge you to give it a try! I truly enjoyed this book and can see myself going to back to it many times in the future.

If you like Tyler Henry, the topic of mediumship/ afterlife, or even if you have more questions than answers about what may happen after the physical form passes away, this is the book for you. The voice of this book is clearly Henry’s with a welcome air of self-assurance and confidence in his knowledge of spirit life. This book would not work for someone who can’t at least entertain the concept of mediumship or afterlife but for the rest of us, it was wonderful.

Great book. Interesting to read about the other side. Tyler explains everything in an easy to understand way.

I enjoyed this book! I love Tyler Henry and his show and this was a great book to understanding the afterlife and what he does.

I really wanted to enjoy this book but I felt it was bogged down with snippets of information and felt more like a new age book.

I secretly love Tyler Henry. He’s such a sweetheart on Hollywood Medium. I’m still not sure what I think about the idea of communicating with people who have passed, but I sure do love the process of watching him do it—whatever “it” is.

This book is kind of a memoir that gives life advice—which, considering how young he is, should be deeply annoying. But it’s not. Henry is genuine and honest. He talks about what gets him through his own struggles (and my goodness he’s had to deal with a lot of health setbacks). He also shares some of the readings he’s done and what he learned from them. Truthfully, there was a lot more depth here than I was expecting.

My only minor complaint is that the writing could get repetitive at times. There was a bit too much stream-of-consciousness happening here. Sometimes I’d forget what the original point of the chapter was about halfway through. Still, he always found a way to bring it all together in the end, and I really enjoyed reading what he had to say.

I had never heard of Tyler Henry and knew nothing about him prior to reading this book. I was intrigued by the title, and upon reflection think that the title is a bit misleading.

The author
- shares stories about his readings,
- advises readers to pay more attention to our spiritual side and the current moment,
- to leave our egos at the door (good advice!) so that we are open to new things,
- to pay attention to our intuition, and
- to align our lives with our authentic selves for our happiest life.

Whether these lessons actually came from the hereafter or not, this book seems to be an attempt to validate his gift to others and comes across as more of a self-help book than a book about the hereafter.

One thing I absolutely loved about the book was the letter he asked his mother to write about what it was like to raise a child (Tyler) who was "different". Mothers worry about their children, and even more so when they don't seem to fit into the world around them. As the mother of a child who is both gay and a medium, she spoke about her love for him, fears for him, pride of him very poignantly and from the heart. Every child should have such an advocate in his life!
