Really wonderful and helpful guide to this first time mum. A lot of information provided without overwhelming the reader.
Helpful for gaining insights into becoming a mother and preparing for pregnancy and all the highs and lows that come with it.

As someone that is just entering the second trimester of my first pregnancy and feeling overwhelmed, this book was such a useful tool to read.

The advice is practical and user-friendly and I enjoyed reading a chapter at a time to really absorb the information. I look forward to re-reading this in the future and will be recommending it to my pregnant friends in the future!!

Thanks so much to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to review!

This book helps shed light on 21st century pregnancy concerns, alongside offering valuable information on the process of pregnancy. Without invoking overly holistic terminology, this book offers an objective view of environmental and chemical concerns that can affect a fetus.

This is a very informative and helpful book. I'm currently TTC so I'm using this book to learn more about each week and I use it as a companion. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

While I've never been pregnant, I reached for this book because I want to educate myself on what to expect in the future. There are also women in my life who are pregnant right now, so Susan Fisher's book came to at at the perfect time when I could ask questions to actual mommas-to-be.

Taking Charge of Your Pregnancy is helpful guide on pregnancy and birth from the perspective of an experienced gynecology professor. It's full of up-to-date scientific advice, defying sometimes harmful stereotypes or recommendations. It is helpfully divided into chapters in a chronological order of the pregnancy: from the first eight weeks, through understanding the placenta, prenatal testing options, protecting the baby from environmental toxins, to what you should do if the pregnancy gets complicated - and how pregnancy affects the health of a future adult.

I really loved it! Fisher's writing is compassionate and authentic, yet at the same time highly informational. I admit I knew close to none of the content before I picked up this book. Now I feel more ready to start thinking about a baby in the future.
