In this third and final book of the Prince Charlie’s Angels series, we follow the story of Fiona MacBean and Brogan Grant. It is a tense, exciting, gripping tale of the lives of the Scots during the battle at Culloden and just following it. Prince Charles is in the country and actually participated in the battle of Culloden – but none of those promised French troops and weapons were there. After soundly defeating the Scots at Culloden, the Duke of Cumberland, known as The Butcher, has his redcoat army all over Scotland with orders to kill any and every Scot who even remotely appears to be a Jacobite. To the Duke and his Redcoats – they ALL appear to be Jacobites so they are pillaging, raping, torturing, and finally killing any Scot they can find. It is the tensest of times, one Scot doesn’t know if the other is trustworthy or not. Some Scots are siding with the English King George and others are on the side of Prince Charles, but no Scot is truly safe.

Fiona MacBean is Prince Charles’s official messenger and she’s also known as the Phantom because of her ability to appear out of nowhere. She’s spent her entire life eluding the nasty English redcoats. She can move without sound, totally disguise herself so nobody would recognize her – not even her family, and she is totally fearless. She can protect herself if she has to, but she avoids having to do so unless it is dire circumstances indeed. Fiona and her two friends, Lady Jenny MacIntosh (The Rebel Wears Plaid) and Annie Macpherson (Truly Madly Plaid) vowed to do whatever it took to see that Prince Charles assumed the Scottish throne. They’ve done an admirable job so far, but the task has become more difficult – and now, since Culloden, it has become almost impossible. With Prince Charles on the run and the people of Scotland losing hope, they are going to have to work even harder to rally the Scots again.

Brogan Grant is a totally loyal, ferociously gifted warrior in support of Prince Charles. Brogan is the illegitimate son of the Laird of Clan Grant, but he has no loyalties to his father because the Laird has come out in support of the English and has created a schism among the members of Clan Grant. Brogan doesn’t see himself as a strong and capable leader, but whenever someone is needed to step up and lead, it seems everyone always turns to Brogan. Sadly, Brogan is totally closed off emotionally – especially with women. Anyone who should ever have protected him, loved him, or cared for him, has left him. Love, a wife, a family, well, they just aren’t in his future.

Brogan and Fiona first meet just hours prior to the battle at Culloden when Fiona delivers a message from Prince Charlie. Brogan takes some convincing that the message is from Charles and the exchange is tense. Then, they meet again just after the battle when Brogan is trying to get to Prince Charles to assure he is protected. He finds the headquarters abandoned and Fiona being attacked. Fiona and Brogan continue their battle of wits from that point forward. Brogan insists upon being chivalrous and protecting Fiona – and Fiona wants no part of it. She’s much safer and quicker on her own. Each was as strong-willed and forceful as the other and it was fun to watch the two fight a battle with each other as well as the redcoats. I’m sure it highly entertained the six other warriors who were traveling with them.

I can definitely recommend this series and this book. It is well researched, well written, and delightfully entertaining. To me, though, I was just a tad disappointed in Fiona and her total unbending personality. It was ALL about her – her mission, her way, nothing else was acceptable. The scene at the end (I’ll not tell you what) was just the final straw for me – I just couldn’t convince myself to totally like her. She came back and rescued a bit of that, but not totally. I figure if she did it once, she’ll do it again. Anyway, other than my personal disappointment in Fiona, I loved the book – and that disappointment is why the book is 4-stars rather than 5.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You've Got Plaid is the third book in Eliza Knight's glorious Prince Charlie's Angels series. This book stands alone perfectly well, so no worries if you haven't read the previous ones. One of the fascinating things about this series is that the heroines are partly based on real-life daughters of Scotland such as Flora Macdonald, Barbara Strachan and Anne Leith, who bravely did their part in the attempt to put Bonnie Prince Charlie on the throne as the rightful King of Scotland. This exciting installment concerns a brave lass, known as the Phantom, who delivers messages to the rebels throughout the Highlands.

Brogan Grant is a Jacobite warrior and the bastard son of the Chief of Clan Grant; he barely escaped the brutal Battle of Culloden with his life. While he and some other surviving soldiers plan their next move, they meet a young lass disguised as a lad, and Brogan believes she is a spy. On their next encounter, he discovers that she is actually a daughter of his clan's enemy, Lady Fiona MacBean. Though impressed by her bravery, he knows what can happen to a young lady during wartime, and he insists that he escort her safely to her home. Fiona refuses, as she must deliver messages to the rebels who are attempting to put Prince Charlie on the Scottish throne. They come to an agreement: he will join her mission and afterwards will escort her home. However, their growing feelings for each other may be in as much danger as their lives...

This was quite an exciting story, as well as being an excellent romance! The fighting is fierce, as are the brawny Highland warriors. I was on the edge of my seat as our hero and heroine and their allies fought with and escaped from the dragoons whom the Duke of Cumberland ordered to execute and imprison Jacobite supporters (which orders earned Cumberland the nickname "Butcher"). In this series, the women are as fierce of heart as the men. Fiona was an outstanding heroine; she put her life in danger every time she had to deliver messages, but she swore to do her part to put a Stuart back on the Scottish throne. She was the perfect foil for Brogan; he was tough and protective but also appreciated her bravery, stubbornness and humor. They decided to pretend to be married since Fiona was traveling with a group of men; however, it also forced close proximity when they shared a room at inns. Since they were pretending, they understood they could not actually consummate their "marriage", but they figured ways around that roadblock! The steam wafted off the pages; it was extremely sensual but also meaningful. Supporting characters were wonderful as well, particularly Fin the Irish soldier, Jacobite fighter Sorley and most especially adorable Milla the hound. We also revisited characters from the previous two books. I don't know if there are any more books planned for this series, but I know wherever Eliza Knight takes us next I'll be sure to follow!

I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.

A wonderful well written story. It’s full of suspense, betrayal and a great romance. We get to look into the lives of some of the people who are loyal to prince Charles and how they try to help him get back his Scotland.

You’ve Got Plaid is another excellently written Prince Charlie’s Angel’s book that shares with us the struggle Scotland had as it sought independence. The historical aspect is fantastically woven into a romance that shares with us how difficult it might have been during that time period.

Brogan and Fiona are both such strong people in their allegiance to the fight for Scottish independence, that neither are sure of being able to completely trust the other as they travel across Scotland to do their part. Even as their romance dips back and forth between them, they try to make sense of a connection that may not have the opportunity to grow. Yet, in their travels, their little band of soldiers and messenger become a family.

Brogan, as a leader, engenders all that is Scottish, braw and brave. Fiona is lovely, and thoroughly dedicated to the bonny prince. Much as these two are growing together as a couple, emotionally and physically, they keep denying what is between them, laughably at times. I love how Ms. Knight writes about the people of Scotland so we get to learn of the history and get a lovely, romantic story.

3.5 stars rounded up.

Brogan Grant, highly trained Jacobite soldier and illegitimate son of a clan chief, is a ferocious fighter but only narrowly escaped Culloden with his life. Now he’s on the run along with a few other fellow Jacobites and his encounter with a lovely lass in disguise leads him to suspect she may be spying for the English, especially given that she comes from an enemy clan. He admires her bravery, but fears for her safety traveling alone in an increasingly treacherous Scotland.

Lady Fiona MacBean serves as messenger for Prince Charles Stuart, using many disguises in her travels to transmit information across the Highlands. She has no intention of abandoning her mission, so Brogan joins her to ensure her safety. Now the two find themselves working together to see the Prince to safety, risking their own lives and hearts as well.

This book had quite a lot going on and was well-written. The action scenes and tension of the main characters being on the run sometimes held my attention but felt tedious at others. There was a lot of time spent on the logistics of travel and that slowed the pacing quite a bit. The main characters took a while to meet and even longer to wind up together, but even after they did, there were so many separations and so much emphasis on their relationship only being temporary that it got really old for me. This was rather too much of a slow burn with too many false starts for these two. Brogan was too high-handed in his behavior toward Fiona at first but did at least show great growth as he came to know her and her capabilities better and treat her as an equal. Fiona did grow a bit but not enough to make me really like her. Brogan’s vulnerability was endearing, especially given how everyone in his life had ultimately left him behind, but I never felt like Fiona really reciprocated that vulnerability or the depth of feeling he had for her and the romance suffered for it. The plot line with the childhood friend/lover Fiona received orders from also struck me as slightly odd and felt rough and unfinished by the end, their scene taking away from developments with Brogan. Some of the plot line with regards to intrigue and such also felt like they were never really resolved, and I couldn’t really tell how those points were advancing the story. Overall, I enjoyed the forced proximity and banter between the main characters, but I wanted more romance, less separation, and a bit less of a slow burn.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

May 1746
This book is Fiona MacBean’s story, she is the messenger and spy for Bonnie Prince Charles Stuart she is known as the phantom. She delivers coded messages in secret disguises all over Scotland. Her best friends are Jenny Mackintosh and Annie MacPherson, as they all promise that they would see to their Jacobite cause through and would do everything in their power to put the rightful heir on the throne. Annie is the healer, Jenny the warrior and Fiona the messenger, as all three are also known as Prince Charlie’s Angels.

The hero of this story is Brogan Grant. Brogan had been told his entire life that Clan MacBean is their biggest enemy for some unknown reason, since it started so many eons ago! Now he watches a MacBean fights like a beast on the battlefield under his Colonial Jenny’s orders. He just cuts one redcoat after another and Brogan can’t help but join in plus Jenny is a leader he has so much respect for! He quickly changes his mind realizing it is his father who is the enemy not the MacBeans! As he and his sire were fighting on opposite sides, this split the clan because of his loyalty to Scotland and the royal, bonny Prince, Yet most followed their Laird, most likely because of his power and fear as the clan leader. Yet a ragtag team of seven burly men he met on the battlefield did follow him and due to his position in the clan made him their leader. Especially since the current military leader pretty much disappeared once he saw Brogan. Due to him also being a fighter on the battlefield yet his powerful strength, and an honest and intelligent soldier he run his sword easily through any dragoon’s evil heart, his men truly respected him.

Brogan is the illegitimate son of Laird Grant. A man who barely acknowledges him except for financial obligations. So his wife and family despise him, plus Brogan has no trust of women. Well number one-his mother abandoned him as an infant leaving on the front steps of his fathers keep at Urquhart castle. Well he guessed she could have drowned him in Loch Ness or left him for the Loch Ness Monster to gobble him up! So it could have been a lot worse, but it still left him with no love in his heart for the fairer sex. However this left the women of Clan Grant who knew his real name and who his father was - as they only used him for his wealth and title. Brogan felt his was truly ridiculous since he was not a legitimate heir, so they tried to deceive him by attempting to get pregnant by him. Well he would never bring a child into this unwanting world, unless he had a true marriage he desired and be blessed by a priest! However he didn’t trust any woman as they were just using him and he was doing the same. He was only using their bodies to release his lust, but he also was no fool and would never release his seed into any woman’s body-no matter how aroused he was! Brogan would not want any bairn to feel unwanted or unloved, two feelings he felt his entire life! So soon Brogan met women outside his clan and gave them all false names, as it was much better then the deceitful Grant women trying to trap him! He had no respect for women, but the man he truly hated was his father, a man who was not even interested in saving Scotland and putting the rightful King on the throne!

The battle had ended and it did not look good for Scotland, but Brogan knew he had to find The Bonny Prince as he was not giving up hope. Now with their small group they had to often run and hide though it had to be pretty much the same for all the Jacobite rebels all over Scotland . It was so unfair to hide and run in your own country! As the butcher and his Dragoon’s were looking to murder all the Scot’s and anyone helping them no matter if they were women, elderly or children! It did not matter to the heartless sassenachs! They were definitely the devil’s helpers in disguise.

This is how Brogan meets the most beautiful woman alive who he thinks should be protected at first , until he starts to realize she is the Prince’s messenger and spy known as the Phantom. Fiona MacBride will do anything to help Scotland, her Prince, and anyone she cares about, which includes a stray dog she named Milla. They met Milla on the road and it was love at first sight for both Brogan and Fiona for the dog and each other! As Fiona loves with her full heart another trait Brogan admired . Yet never cross this Lass, as she was very deadly with weapons hidden on her body to those who wronged her or those she cares for! Fiona has no problem killing any of the butchers men with her lethal hair accessories! As this is how Brogan Grant meets her while fatally stabbing a dragoon in the neck! She also carries a specially designed belt that holds weapons, a belt Brogan is definitely jealous of and repeats humorously, “he has to get himself one of them”. In Fiona’s line of work she holds weapons all over her body in hidden places, as she sends coded messages all over Scotland to save lives. The ones she cares most are Jenny and Annie and all of their families and now Brogan and his ragtag troop of men with their dog Milla and their horses too. She can disguise herself as a healer, a boy or whatever the occasion calls for-Fiona can also change her voice as well from Scottish to Irish and so on.

Brogan finds this wee pint size lassie so fascinating and mesmerizing on so many different levels as a human being besides being the most beautiful creature he ever laid his eyes on! Besides being so beautiful this woman and is the one woman who finally opens and warms up Brogan Grant’s cold heart. Fiona had once opened her heart which ended up shattered. Now she has opened it again, yet it was in the middle of the war, plus her duty is to the Royal, Bonny Prince, above all else. As it had been for many years, will she leave the one man she loves for duty? Can Brogan give Fiona the freedom she needs without suffocating or restraining her? Will he allow. her to become an equal partner? Brogan feels this perfect phantom with the amethyst eyes is way too good for the likes of him! How can he possibly ask her to pick him over her Royal duties? Yet can he go on and live without her? As she has destroyed him to even glance at another woman!

Fiona MacBean is the first woman to show him how to believe in trust and love, yet also conveys how to believe in himself too! She is the first woman who has completed him and without her he thinks he will fall apart. Love, a word he never thought truly existed, as no one had ever loved him in his whole entire life! Can he step aside and allow her to leave with her Bonny Prince, yet if he forces her to stay she would hate him forever! So what decision will these hidden star crossed lovers on the run choose? A book I definitely recommend to read to find the answers of these questions and so many more!

Again, Eliza Knight blows me away with her brilliant mind, phenomenal research and vivid imagination! I am no first time reader, as I have been reading her books since her debut as an author for the past eleven years. I have loved every book she has written to be honest, but I must say this entire series is her best work in my honest opinion. I love how both the hero and heroine are so fierce and independent but first and foremost their loyalty is for their Prince and country. Fiona and Brogan will do anything they can to help heal their country and its people plus hoping freedom can be achieved.

On a personal note I have been to Culloden Battlefield and museum and I could feel all the ghosts and couldn’t walk through without shedding a lot of tears. So of course again this book called to my Jacobite heart! My clan’s stone says “Mixed Clans” at Culloden, as it was too small of a clan and fighting under another clans flag. Yet you couldn’t help but feel so much emotion. So this entire series meant a lot to me and absolutely touched my heart!

So I personally thank this wonderful author for kkkKwriting this book which was so powerful with pure brilliance!Anyone who loves Scottish history like me definitely does not want to miss it. It is filled with a lot of true history, but has a beautiful fictional romance that is unforgettable too. I will definitely be reread these these three epic books again! Again I absolutely loved this book from start to finish! Now if you haven’t read the two prior books you can read this book as a stand alone book too. Yet I definitely recommend to all three novels! For me it was pure heaven! Thank you Eliza Knight!

Eliza Knight is one of my favorite Scottish historical authors and definitely my GO-TO-AUTHOR for me. I was honored with an advanced readers copy from her Sourcebooks publisher, but it will be released on May 25, 2021. The prior two books are available now, just a warning book #2 is highly emotional which only means how fabulous it is!

“You’ve Got Plaid” (Prince Charlie’s Angels #3) by Eliza Knight is a first time everything to this reader. Having met her at a writer’s event, I’ve never experienced reading any of her novels and I am hating to admit that I should have done so prior to now.

This story is about Lady Fiona MacBean aka the “Phantom” who is a Jacobite spy determined to do her part in ensuring that Prince Charles is rightfully placed back on the throne. She takes her role seriously in delivering messages for the Prince and very few in her circle knows who she really is and what she does for the country. While on one of her missions, she comes face to face with Brogan Grant, an enemy of her clan and bastard son of the Laird of Clan Grant. It is not until later after warring with the “red coats” that he and a band of misfits in search of the Prince, encounter Fiona again. Brogan is considered a ruthless warrior and is loyal to the Jacobite cause, thus when meeting Fiona his suspicions grow even deeper.
Despite his qualms, he eventually decides to assist her. In the process, he uncovers her true identity when sending them on a wild good chase knowing they are there to the Prince.

Not having delve into the history background of the Jacobite, this was a learning experience for this reader and those who fought on both sides to retain or regain their cause. Unfortunately, I thought the relationship between the two characters was too slow and could have been brought out a bit earlier. The “slow build” of their romance was way too slow for me. In addition, I thought the pace dragged too much for me and at times I was becoming bored with the story everything was unveiled early on. Brogan having to aid of Fiona numerous times was frustrating. As with most historical romances, I do look for that bit of steamy intimacy that isn’t over the top and those scenes in the story…I can say were written very well. There is a combination of espionage, suspense, mystery, fake marriage, banter between the M/Cs, and some humor that brings a smile here and there during the story.

Not having read the first two books in this series, I enjoyed the strong personalities of both characters, their convictions to their cause despite being enemies and finding love in the process. Although this was a enjoyable read, not sure if I want to continue the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Book: You’ve Got Plaid (Eliza Knight)
Rating: 4.5⭐️
Genre: Historical/Scottish romance
Smut: 🔥

Summary: Lady Fiona is Prince Charles’s Phantom, a messenger delivering coded correspondence among the rebels in a war torn Scotland. Brogan Grant is an enemy of Fiona’s clan but a soldier fighting amongst the Scottish ranks nonetheless. And when their paths cross the English redcoats begin to fall, but even that might not be enough to save the struggling Prince from the danger pushing in from all sides.

Favourite character: Lady Fiona

To whom: To fans of fierce women, adventure, and Scottish romance.

Additional notes:
I LOVED THE HEROINE! Strong and unyielding who outranked others with her cunning and kicked ass like a beast! I loved the action and the flow of story - until the indecision of the characters in the hot-cold-hot ending which forced me to deduct half a star. However, all in all an awesome read from the Scottish Highlands!

✨Thank you so much Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for sending me this ebook to read and review!

Hints of enemies to lovers ... add one of them begrudgingly helping the other. Makes for a very excellent read. Big fan of Scottish highland romances and this one lives up to the genre.

Welcome back to Scotland during the Second Jacobite rebellion and a country that is war torn. This is the third book of Eliza Knight’s Prince Charlie’s Angels and my favorite of the series. It should be noted that although these books standalone and feature different couples I believe you will best enjoy them if you read them in order.

The MC in this story are Lady Fiona MacBean and Brogan Grant - both are fighting to get the Bonnie Prince on the throne and to release Scotland from England’s cruel reign. Although they each play different roles as Jacobites both are devoted and willing to give their lives for the cause. After their initial meeting these two keep coming together and each time their feelings and desire grow. This is what leads up to a “fake” marriage between the two with thoughts of Brogan protecting Fiona as the ultimate goal. Needless to say the UST and hidden feelings make the fake marriage very successful.

The fake relationship/marriage trope is one of my favorites - I always like to see just how long an author can make the characters linger, deny developing feelings, attempt to avoid those carnal pleasures, and of course what the ultimate breaking point for the couple will be...does this make me slightly twisted? Maybe. I still love it!

As mentioned in my previous reviews of the series, the author did an amazing job of delivering the reader smack dab in the middle of Scotland at war. She also drags you all around Scotland as Fiona and Brogan chase the Bonnie Prince from one area to the next, camping in the woods, running and hiding from Dragoons. At one point I felt like I was riding around the highlands and could have used a wee dram of whiskey to quench my thirst!

I loved it all - didn’t want the story to end.

The only part I didn’t enjoy of this book was the ending. We got no glimpse of the HEA for this couple nor did we get to see how the previous two books MC were doing. Maybe she can write book four and have all three couples featured 2-5 years down the line. *Hint Hint*

So, to summarize if you enjoy brave women, sexy highlanders, Scotland, and of course cute dogs...(Milla🐾) then grab this book and dive in...5 Stars!!!

I received an ARC copy of this book via #NetGalley for review.

This was a very enjoyable read. I loved the historical backdrop. It really helped set off the story. The characters were well developed and the storyline move at a decent pace. The romance was a slowbuild as the two main characters got to know each other. The romance scene was tastefully written and was steamy with being obscene. I definitely recommend this book if you are a fan of historical romances.

I love Scottish history especially imaging Charley’s angels a group of heroine woman who are fight for the Jacobite cause. Lady Fiona MacBean is determined to do her part by delivering messages for Prince Charles and carry secrete messages. She’s becomes as the “Phantom”, very few know who she really is or when she deliverer of secret messages across the country. She encounters Brogan Grant, a Jacobite soldier and bastard son of the Chief, and an enemy of her clan. I love this story as Fiona leads Brogan on a merry chase has he tries helping her do even though she’s been on her own for a few years, but she keeps disappearing to always show up when least expected. Brogan, a bastard of the laird of Clan Grant doesn’t trust many people and he trust Fiona even less. He's a hardened warrior and a true loyalist to the Jacobite cause and suspicious of everyone. A captivating story delving into the Jacobite history and those who did everything for the cause both men and woman. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent story that’s filled with rich history, adventure and romance of a lifetime.

I'm not sure, but this book reads like its last book in the series. I really liked the way that it was wrapped up in the end. The rest of the book was really good also. There was a lot a fighting so if that's not something yet you like keep this in mind. Most of the book was out running the war trying to get to the prince or fighting the war for the prince.

Being a Mackintosh I am always excited about a book involving the Jacobite rebellion. Having been lucky enough to visit Culloden the ultimate sacrifice these clans made for King and Country is clearly seen from the vast expanse of grave stones on the moorland where the battle was fought. I am also a fan of Eliza Knight and her 'Stolen Bride series' so when I saw this book on my recommendations list I could wait to get my hands on a copy.

Having since read the book, I realise that this is the third book in the 'Charlie's Angels series' I haven't read the previous books but have added them to my, to be read list. I don't think not reading them before this book 'You've Got Plaid' affected my enjoyed of the book or stopped me from knowing what was happening, but I am sure it would help tie up some of the characters who appeared previously.

This one follows Lady Fiona MacBean, disguised as a healer amongst other things she hides in plain sight and delivers message throughout the Highlands on behalf of Bonnie Prince Charlie. Known to most as "The Phantom" she keeps her true identify a secret. When delivering one said message she comes into contact with Brogan Grant, a Jacobite soldier who is determined to find out who she is and can't help but feel the needs to keep her safe and protected. Having lived a dangerous life for many year in pursuit of tying to put who she thinks the rightful king back on the thrown she is having none of the brawl highlander who is trying to keep her from harms way and a love, hate relationship begins.

I really enjoyed this book and the characters, both Brogan and Fiona are head strong and true to their cause and have definitely met their match in each other. It had just the right amount of mystery, bravery, romance and political intrigue to keep me turning the pages. I look forwards to reading the rest of the series.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Expected publication date is 25th May 2021.

I really enjoyed this book. The road trip, force proximity and fake marriage tropes that are at the heart of this novel are an absolute delight. The backdrop of the 1946 Jacobean rebellion is fascinating and I think Eliza Knight does a lovely job interweaving moments of history into this story of two people fighting for Scotland and the Scottish King they are upholding.

The writing for this novel is engaging, it started off a little slow for me as we were getting a lot of historical background on our hero and heroine and how they are involved in the Jacobean rebellion, but as soon as they meet the novel swiftly picks up the pace. There is a nice tension that drives the novel forward due to the constant danger of British Soldiers. The interaction and banter between Fiona and Brogan, is on fire, it also serves as a great moving force that drives the events of the novel ahead and has a lovely humorous undertone that keeps the reader engaged in their slow burn romance.

Fiona, the heroine, is such a wonderful and strong character. I love how she is independent and so brave as she helps the rebellion progress. Brogan, the hero, is also a very strong and independent character who is fighting for the Jacobites. So, he starts his relationship out with Fiona on the very cautious side as he slowly discovers who she really is. I loved watching these two independent people learn to respect and trust the other because their priorities aline is so many ways. I love that Fiona is able to fight for herself when she gets caught in unwanted situations and does not have to fully rely on Brogan to get her out of every scrape. I also love that Brogan wants to help Fiona out of those scrapes while also recognizing that Fiona has an underline strength that will help her fight tooth and nail.

I highly recommend this novel if you love a highlander romance, if you are interested in reading a romance set around the Jacobean rebellion and if you like your hero and heroine to be on equal footing with each other. This was a delightful, engaging and well paced read that continues this series nicely and leaves the reader excited for the next installment.

Prince Charlie's Angels #3

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brogan Grant is not only a Jacobite soldier he is also the illegitimate son of a Chief. He has fought like a crazed Warrior on the battlefield, and barely escaped with his life. Now on the run, Brogan comes across what he thinks is a spy - a beautiful lass disguised as a lad, who also happens to be the daughter of his clan's enemy. He is in awe of her and admires her bravery, but he knows how dangerous it is, and can be for a woman alone travelling a war ravaged land.

Lady Fiona MacBean is more then determined to do her part and ensure that there is a Scottish King. She goes disguised as a healer, delivering messages to rebels throughout the Highlands and is called the Phantom. This one mission makes things a little different though as she meets a man. A striking Highlander who is as determined as she is, but he wants to send her home to safety.

Fiona will not be deterred though so left with little choice Brogan joins forces with her if she agrees to return home after. Now these two must practically become one and work together to save the life of Bonnie Prince Charlie himself, but as time goes on their hearts become more entangled. As things become more dangerous for all of those involved will their hearts truly be at risk? Or will they be torn apart by the war as so many others are?

Eliza Knight is absolutely fantastic. This book is the best. Ms. Knight will take you romping through the Highlands with the Jacobites making you feel as if the Dragoons are hot on your tail. This book is so vivid and the historical significance is astounding. Fiona was such a brave lady. It was like she wasn't scared of anything and faced it all head on. Brogan is your dream Highlander. He's not afraid of a thing, but life has scared him some so when he loves he does it fiercely while trying not to get hurt at the same time. These two were perfect together. They moved as one unit. I was hooked from the get go and one page just flowed so nicely into the next. I was sad to see the book end and can't wait to see what Ms. Knight writes next.

Lady Fiona is a rebel that works as one of King Charlie’s angels delivering secret messages to allies. Her role in the war is dangerous and deadly, but she is determined to see her country with a Scottish ruler. Brogan is a Jacobite and a fierce warrior who has seen his fair share of death on the battlefield. On the run after a particularly brutal battle, Brogan encounters Fiona, who is the daughter of his clan’s enemy. Inexplicably drawn to Fiona, Brogan makes a deal with her to deliver her message and find and help their prince. As they journey across Scotland and their feelings ignite, Fiona and Brogan must decide if their feelings are worth fighting for.

This is a great addition to the Prince Charlie’s Angels series, and Fiona is as fierce and courageous as her friends in the first two books. Often known as The Phantom for her stealth and secrecy, Fiona is a free spirit with a fiery personality. Not only is Fiona is smart, savvy, and loyal, but she also has a strong sense of duty and is determined to make a difference. I love her fighting spirit, steadfastness, and refusal to give up. Fiona doesn’t let anything distract her from her missions until she meets Brogan. He makes her feel things no one ever has before, and she doesn’t know how to deal with these new, complex, and confusing feelings.

Brogan is a regimented and rule-following warrior who thinks women need protection and that they have no place in the war. This proves troublesome to Fiona, who has served as a messenger throughout the war and has risked her life repeatedly to deliver messages to the prince. Brogan grows a lot throughout the story and comes to the realization that women are more than capable and have had a much larger role in the war than he ever knew.

I think his initial opinions stem from his experiences (or lack of) with women as a child and young adult. Continually abandoned and rejected by the women in his life, including his own mother, Brogan is slow to trust and slower to love. He does not want to be left again. However, fighting his feelings for Fiona proves impossible, and his experiences with her change his opinions about women for the better.

Fiona and Brogan have an epic and swoon-worthy romance. She’s a rebel she’s fierce, and she can handle herself in precarious situations. He struggles with his preconceived notions and expectations for women, which severely contrasts with the fierce and independent Fiona. However, though they don’t see eye-to-eye, they are irresistibly drawn to each other, and their chemistry is fantastic!

Whether they are arguing, working together, or purposely ignoring each other, their connection is palpable and strong. I love how they both try to fight their feelings but can’t. Brogan. in particular, struggles to reconcile his affection for Fiona, which confuses him since he’s never felt this way before. They face continual threats, and war and danger lurk everywhere, but amid this terrible and potentially tragic time, Fiona and Brogan find hope and love.

This is a suspenseful and immersive historical romance filled with danger, fighting, and devious plots. Fiona and Brogan and their fellow travelers are continually hunted and followed by the Dragoons, and there is never a dull moment! Fiona and Brogan face so many obstacles, both internal and external, and they both show a fierce determination to succeed.

Like the other books in the series, I am amazed at the amount of research that went into this book! The battles they reference, the locations they visit, and many of the people they discuss and meet are steeped in history and offer a realistic view of Scotland at this time. The author easily immerses the reader into the battle-worn country and its people.

Though this is the third book in the series, it can totally be read as a standalone, as can each book in the series. That being said, the first two books do offer context to some of the minor characters in this story. For those who read the first two books, you’ll be pleased to know that some of the characters make an appearance in this one. I liked this aspect of the book, as you get to see these characters, especially Charlie’s other angels, from a different perspective.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablance, and Eliza Knight for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. I think this story will appeal to readers who like epic and swoon-worthy historical romance set in the Scottish Highlands.
