This was an awesome story I loved all the characters in this story and I was totally addicted to this book. I could not put it down. It is told in various POV and it actually had two love stories mixed into it.

The main romance is between Ella and Dylan. Their parents have been dating and are now in love and are wanting to get hitched. They decide to have their two kids host an engagement party mostly to sort of bond but Dylan is anti the wedding and Ella just wants her mom to finally be happy. And so the book is their story of falling in love while working on the engagment party as they start to get to know each other.

The second romance is between, Jim who is Dylan's dad and Ella's mom, Brenda. They are in love at the beginning of the story but we also get to see them face the issues of creating a family when the grooms son hates Jim's fiancee and his wife to be hates his son as well.

We also get to know Ashley, who has the cutest kid and who eventually Ella ends up working for and becoming friends with. She is a lonely widow who loved her her husband but is still not ready to move on. The reverend is also a big part of this story, as is Granny who I absolutely adored.

This was a really fun romance and I absolutely adored every minute of it.

This is the latest installment of the Magnolia Harbor series, and I liked the others in the series okay, which is why I requested to read this one through NetGalley. This book far exceeded my expectations - I was really drawn into this story and the characters. Ella Macmillan is a fiddler, who has struggled to live up to her classically-trained violinist mother’s expectations; she is home after years of estrangement. Ella’s mother would like to have Ella and Dylan plan her engagement party, since she and Dylan’s father are planning an intimate wedding. There are 2 problems that become apparent- Dylan wants to break their parents up, and a growing attraction is growing between Dylan and Ella.

I found Ella’s relationship with her mother relatable, and I found her to be a very likeable character. The other characters sort of grew on me, and I found myself hoping for a happily ever after. I don’t typically get dragged into a book to the point where I stay up past my bedtime (I am REALLY exhausted when my head hits the pillow), but I just couldn’t put this one down until I finished it! 5 stars.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was looking for a light read and this is definitely that. I can’t say I liked or related to any of the characters. They all had personal issues and for the most part seemed to lack backbones and the way they interacted turned me off. I found myself skimming parts of the book. I knew what the ending was going to be, but I finished reading it anyway. Definitely not my favorite. I have enjoyed other books by this author so I will continue to read her. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

What can I say about Ella and Dylan. She is trying to be a free spirit and he has a stick up his back. I found the end to be a little bit silly and the beginning a bit forced. I have to stop reading this author

Normally I love Hope Ramsay but this one is not one of my favorites. I don't have anything else to add to that statement and I refuse to retell the story as so many reviewers do. I will look forward to Hope's next book.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Ella who is a musician decides to return home to her mothers. She us surprised to find out that her mother is engaged. Ella and the grooms son are tasked with planning an engagement party for the couple. The more time Ella spends with the grooms son, the more she grows to like him. I enjoyed the different characters in this book.

Cute, but predictable story. Ella, a musician, returns home for her mother’s wedding. Dylan, the small town doctor, is opposed to his father marrying Ella’s mother. The couple makes their children work together to plan the engagement. Ella and Dylan change from enemies to lovers during the process. All ends well for both parents and children.

This was a really cute book. At the beginning of the book I was not a fan of Dylan, but he really grew on me as the book progressed. Dylan and Ella both grew a lot throughout this story. The town of Magnolia Harbor, and the inn, and the pirate ghost add a lot of interest to this story. The problems in this story seemed pretty huge and insurmountable, and I was really questioning how it was all going to end. I was pleasantly surprised with the ending and how everything worked out! I hope they Ashley gets her own book and a happily ever after soon! I received an ARC from netgalley, and this is my honest review.

Ever meet a man and a woman who were never going to be brother and sister. Just because their parent was going to marry the others parent there was no future as siblings. However that didn’t mean there would be no relationship, just of a different sort. Opposites attract and being dissimilar is good in a relationship. But there does have to be shared respect and attraction. And Ellen and Dylan have that in spades. In A WEDDING ON LILAC LANE by Hope Ramsay there are several blooming relationships. In a small town I guess interpersonal relationships are usual fare.
But Ella and her mom are rather new to this small community. Both wound up here kind of licking their wounds and finding the peace they didn’t know was missing from their lives. Ella has always lived in her mother’s shadow. She never reached the true potential of her music prowess. Her mother Brenda had the talent, but an abusive marriage put an abrupt end to that. So Brenda invested all her energy into Ella and her abilities. Ella is good, perhaps even great with her violin, but her outlook is very different from her mom’s. She likes spontaneity in her playing, improvising. That’s where her heart points her musicality. Her playing is glorious. She just marches to a different drummer than Brenda, but her mom hasn’t managed to accept that. At least not yet.
One of the best character exchanges is when the priest gives his sermons. No I’m not getting religious here but heartwarming and inspiring no matter what road you follow. Micah St. Pierre seems to tailor make his sermons for his parishioners. And the funny thing is his congregants all think it is them that he targeted. I laughed out loud at the reaction some of the core characters had. He hit the bullseye.
So there is a wedding and engagement party to plan. Characters working hard to find their place in this new family grouping. And futures that are still very much left to be decided. Glorious writing.
Hope Ramsay is a find. This writer knows how to tug your heartstrings and at the same time make you think. It’s not just her characters that are looking inside themselves, it’s her readers as well. I haven’t met a hope Ramsey character yet that I haven’t fallen in love with. Ella and Dylan are immensely flawed and lovable. Even Brenda will capture your heart. She is trying so hard you feel like she too needs a break. There is always an honest core to stories by Hope Ramsay. She allows her characters find their way through her creativity, her dialog, her humility. It is a great gift to all her readers. Fans of Hope Ramsay will absolutely adore A WEDDING ON LILAC LANE which is chock full of some of her best characters.

I received an advance copy of, A Wedding on Lilac Lane, by Hope Ramsay. I thought this book was ok. I really liked the character of Ella, but did not care for Dylan, way too immature.

I’m pleased to see that Hope Ramsay hasn’t lost her touch. I enjoyed her Last Chance series, and she managed to weave the same small town/nosy-yet-lovable vibe into this book. Dylan and Ella have a bit of a tumultuous relationship, what with the hate and then the attraction and then the letdown, but even their torment can’t stop this wedding from taking place. Dylan spent part of the time being a spoiled brat in a man’s body, while Ella tried to please everyone until it all became too much for her to bear. And when Ella broke both her own and Dylan’s hearts to keep each of their parents happy, I wasn’t sure how this would work out. But I had some faith and wasn’t disappointed in the outcome. Now I shall wait to see if Ashley finally finds some happiness herself, and if it’ll be with Micah or someone new.
