I really enjoyed this book! As much a family drama as a mystery, it focused on whether a woman dying of cancer was poisoned, and if so. by whom? The novel kept me guessing until the very end, and I was utterly engaged with the characters. A good, fast read- would definitely recommend.

This was an amazing book! What would you do if you were told you had six weeks to live and then found out someone had been trying to poison you?

McKenzie takes you by the hand and leads you through six weeks of questions, worries, trials, & tribulations. How do you reconnect with your 3 daughters? Well, Catherine will show you in her superb writing and characterizations so there will be peace when the time comes.

I highly recommend this book which I received from Netgalley and this is my voluntary, honest review.

This book started out with Jennifer, a 48 year old mom of triplet girls, being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and being told she only has 6 weeks to live. This causes Jennifer to look in to her past medical records where she discovers an abnormal test that could be the answer to her cancer and causes her to question if she was potentially poisoned.

I have loved all of the other Catherine McKenzie books I have read and this one is no exception. It is told from multiple points of view, Jennifer and her 3 daughters. It took a bit for me to figure out which daughter was who, but once I got them straight I really enjoyed hearing the story from all of their perspectives. I was not expecting the twists and turns that this took and it kept me guessing to the very end.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book ripped out my heart. It is full of broken characters that you just can't help feel sorry for. I could not put this book down and as a thriller it was one that I didn't see coming. This murder mystery was one of the great ones that pulls you in and makes you want to solve the case. While ripping your soul out of your body as things happen.

A suspenseful domestic thriller with unreliable characters and a countdown timeline. Jennifer is just diagnosed with a brain cancer and given six weeks to live. Her triplet daughters all have distinct voices and flaws and are there for her while she tries to understand her fate. Her soon to be ex husband is in the picture as well but has moved on with a new home and new woman.

I enjoyed the bond of the sisters and their understanding of eachother. It added depth to the story to have these characters so well developed, even though I despised them most of the time, their interaction with eachother was sometimes jovial and sometimes catty.

The setup in the beginning was intriguing but slow, once I got to the middle it picked up but reminded me of another story I had read last year.  If I tell you the name it is a major spoiler, so I will just leave it at that. The plot was so similar it left me slightly disappointed.

Overall, a great domestic suspense with deep characterizations and twisty pages.

Jennifer Barnes hadn't felt well for awhile but didn't expect the horrifying terminal brain cancer with only weeks to live diagnosis. Her adult triplet daughters and ex husband are shocked. As plans including the funeral are made, currents of mysterious secrets and deceit start trickling through then the holes and gaps widen. Jennifer admits to having had depression and staying in an institute in the past. But when she gathers her girls together to tell them she believes she had been poisoned, possibly by her then husband, her daughters are dismayed and stunned.

Alternating chapter headings are goosebump-inducing and the pages are practically sweaty with suspense. The premise and twists are interesting. So is the domestic drama. I like that there aren't loads of characters to keep track of...this knot is nice and tight and easy to focus on.

Thriller readers will find much to enjoy about this atmospheric and tense book.

My sincere thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the privilege of reading the e-ARC of this riveting book.

I really enjoyed Six Weeks To Live. Unlike most books lately, it kept my interest. I liked the storyline and I liked that it wasn't just another predictable psychological thriller. Definitely worth reading!

This book, man it was good. I honestly never saw the ending coming. So well written and the characters were so robust. Only thing I would have like to see was how the daughters were doing a few years later but other than that it was amazing!

A Stage 4 glioblastoma. Six weeks to live. Jennifer Barnes is reeling from the news when she discovers a blood test from a year ago in her medical records. The test showed a high concentration of lead in her body. Did this cause her cancer? Was she poisoned? Could her estranged husband Jake be responsible?

Or is she having disturbed thoughts caused by the rapidly growing tumor? Her daughters, triplets Emily, Miranda and Aline, at first doubt their mother, but decide to try to prove that she is wrong…or right. As the weeks pass and Jennifer becomes weaker, her daughters discover secrets that were buried long ago. The family must try to forgive each other before it is too late.

Six Weeks to Live is part thriller, part mystery, part family drama and full of twists. Intense and unsettled, fast paced and shocking, this book will keep you guessing. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books and Catherine McKenzie for this ARC.

This was a very interesting plot and definitely had some unexpected twists. I do with the ending and the past were each more flushed out and could have been better connected in the conclusion.

This was quite a compelling domestic suspense that was based on an extremely smart and intriguing concept. It was such a unique take on a whodunit that was filled with lots of misdirections and a rollercoaster of emotions.

I also love a good sibling rivalry storyline and this was was bursting with complex characters, jealousy, and dark secrets.

McKenzie did a great job of seemingly implicating everyone and finishing it off with a bang and truly sinister ending...

Would you have what it takes to solve your own murder?!

What the fork did I just read??!!! Loved it! I would give it 4.5 stars. It was good, but The Good Liar, I'll Never Tell and You Can't Catch Me were still my favorites. I'm a HUGE fan of the author and always look forward to reading her books. This one definitely didn't disappoint. When the book started I was able to relate to the main character (except the part about being poisoned.) I loved her first name- Jennifer. I know how she felt being diagnosed with something she never expected. I don't have brain cancer, but I do have a meningioma that effects my eyesight. Plus we both have daughters named Emily. I felt like this book was made for me. I enjoyed the story, characters and writing style. At times I wanted to stab a fork in some of the characters, especially Miranda for her excess/annoying use of fork. (I really do mean the word fork.) There were so many twists and turns. I kept going down my list of suspects of who could have poisoned Jennifer. I understand why Jennifer was convinced it had to be Jake. He was an awful husband and still treated her horribly after they separated. He didn't even seem upset when he heard the news about Jennifer's diagnosis. I can understand Jennifer not having the best mothering skills after meeting her mother. Loved finding out the truth about what happened to the girls when they were younger. Was definitely shocked at the ending, but it was also perfect because it was so unexpected.

Definitely recommend the book. This book was a great mystery/thriller that keeps you guessing until the end. I look forward to reading more books by the author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Atria Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I enjoyed this thriller by Catherine McKenzie. I was hesitant to read it after discovering the main character was dying of a brain tumor, as my father passed away from a brain tumor. I am glad that i pushed through and forced myself to keep reading. There were enjoyed twists in the plot and kept me curious enough to keep reading the book..

I would recommend this to thriller lovers.

Wow Catherine Mckenzie has done it again,  I've been a huge fan for awhile,  she's become an auto buy author for me and I've greatly enjoyed everything I've read by her.
Six weeks to live was no exception. I quickly got sucked into the story and was interested and intrigued by the family dynamics and drama through to the end.  The book is told in multiple points of view from the 3 daughters and mom in sections of Six weeks. If you love Highly addictive crazy plot twist endings with added family secrets and drama you need to read this one.

Jennifer is separated from her husband and is denying him a divorce. They have triplet daughters. Jennifer has just found out she has brain cancer and the book unfolds into her last weeks and the secrets that she's held onto finally surfacing. We get view points from each of the triplets on how they deal with the news of cancer and the secrets that unfold along with Jennifer's.

This was a great read, but I did feel like it could’ve been edited down a bit. It did have a lot of twists and turns and I never knew which character to trust, which was good. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for review.

Six Weeks to Live strikes a great balance of psychological thriller and family drama. Reeling after receiving a terminal brain cancer diagnosis, Jennifer notices some old test results in her medical records that indicate abnormally high lead levels. As Jennifer and her triplet adult daughters try to come to terms with the devastating prognosis, Jennifer is also trying to get to the bottom of what she’s convinced is an intentional poisoning. She’s pretty sure her soon-to-be ex-husband Jake wanted to harm her to force an end to their marriage.

This story really keeps the reader guessing – was Jennifer poisoned? If so, was Jake the culprit? Or is there something even more nefarious going on? What dark secrets are the characters hiding from each other? Jennifer may only have six weeks left to live, but those weeks are a roller-coaster ride of mysteries, lies, and revelations. You won’t want to put this book down until you see how it all turns out!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing me an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
