This book grabbed my attention from the beginning,. Loved all the twists and turns. However the end was disappointing for me. A little unbelievable as to how a doctor jacket and syringe were obtained so a 3 star. Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Six Weeks to Live gives us a manageable number of narrators, including a couple of unreliable narrators. Jennifer is a 48 year old mother of triplets, who received national attention after they were born 25 years ago as Jennifer had 2 embryos, 1 split as identical twins Aline and Miranda and a fraternal 3rd triplet Emily. Jennifer has just gotten results of testing and told she has glioblastoma, a brain cancer. She has six weeks to live. She discovers that when she was feeling ill last year, she tested positive for lead poisoning. Why didn't the doctor follow up with her? Her symptoms went away until her crushing migraines lead to her cancer diagnosis. Jennifer's husband Jake left her for a younger woman. Her grown children had their own lives.
Who poisoned her and why? Jennifer spends an alarming amount blaming her ex she refuses to give a divorce for unknown reasons. She also has a secret and Miranda has some kind of deal with her dad because he paid her debt. Emily is the most like Jennifer. All this time I was thinking one idea until it was clear to me that not only was Jennifer an unreliable narrator but one of her own family members was determined to get revenge.
Tw for medical abuse & MBP. This became somewhat obvious after a while. The only thing that made it satisfying was the person getting away with the revenge. It might have been interesting to leave the best friend the letter about Jennifer's suspicions.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the E-arc of Six Weeks to Live.
A solid mystery, full of suspense and will keep you turning the page. I enjoyed it. It is a stand alone mystery.

A seemingly healthy 48 year old is given horrible news- brain cancer with 6 weeks to live. While most others would spend time with loved ones, Jennifer Barnes is searching for a reason why she got cancer. Convinced she was poisoned, Jennifer now has to figure out who wanted her gone while the clock is ticking.
Even though at times there isn't much going on, I could not put this book down. I liked the whole cast of characters and how they interacted with one another, and the storyline flowed well to keep me interested. I was thrown for a loop of few times, and glad that the end was not as predictable as I originally thought. Would definitely recommend. Thanks to Netgalley for the great ARC!

This is a solid suspense tale with all of the elements of a good story. This is lots of helpful reviews already, so please read those for more details. Recommended.
I really appreciate the ARC for review!!

At first this book really drew me in - a woman diagnosed with a glioblastoma and given a grim prognosis, her daughters, a unique set of triplets, and a husband who was begging for a divorce for years. Did someone poison her, causing her brain cancer? And if so, there was only once person who would benefit from her being dead. Or was there?
There was a twist at the end and I didn't totally see it coming. But, at that point I found I just didn't really care anymore.

I was given this book by NetGalley for an honest review -
What a shocking and interesting book this is -
Jennifer is shocked when at the doctors office she finds out she has a brain tumor and only 6 weeks to live — but more startling is seeing in her chart that a year ago she has an excessive amount of lead in her body ...could this be the reason for the cancer? Was someone trying to kill her?
Jennifer is a mother of triplets and her husband has left her for another woman. Her first thought is her husband was trying to kill her as he kept demanding the divorce she wouldn’t give him As time goes on each daughter and friend is a suspect. Who wanted to kill her? How and when and why? Will she find the answer in six weeks?

I wish I could write this review in emojis ... if I could it would look like this 🤯 The family dynamics in this riveting tale consistently amazed me. And then, that last sentence really pushed it to a full fledged 5 star review, so thanks to NetGalley for the early read. Family is always complicated... and the hurt that can occur is one that can sting for a long time, unless of course you say Sorry.

I went in waves with this book. It hooked me initially, I lost a bit of interest, then it hooked me again. The entire book leads you to believe it’s one specific person of interest, to the point of (almost) annoyance. Also annoying was the repeated use of “what the fork”. Interesting use of song lyric chapter titles, but I was distracted with how they connected to the story. Thanks NetGalley.

Jennifer is a 48-year old mother to triplets, with twin grandsons. After a series of episodes leads her to a doctor’s appointment, she finds out that she has a brain tumor. It’s terminal, and she only has approximately six weeks to live.
When Jennifer reviews her medical records, she sees that she had a high amount of lead in her blood a year ago during her last appointment. She is convinced that someone was trying to kill her a year ago, and that is the reason for her terminal brain tumor. The only person she could imagine doing that is her husband, Jake, whom she is separated from.
Could he really have done that to Jennifer? Her daughters don’t think so, but she determines to find out before it’s too late.
I went into this one thinking it would be a psychological thriller, but it’s more of a domestic drama with suspense sprinkled throughout. I enjoyed it, but at no time was I blown away. The story is told from the POVs of Jennifer and her three daughters, and author Catherine McKenzie does a phenomenal job of giving each of them their own, distinct voice.
I am a HUGE fan of this author, having loved everything I’ve read of hers. My expectations were maybe a bit too high. The pace is steady, but never really ramps up. The revelations, while interesting, never really shocked me. I do expect a lot of people will enjoy this one more than I did, so please check out other reviews as well. As for me, I will anxiously await McKenzie’s next release. As for this book, it may not take much longer than six weeks for me to forget.
One last thought: Jennifer’s daughters use the word fork instead of the F-bomb. “What the fork?” “Are you forking kidding me?” After about 20 times, I was about ready to stick a fork in it.
3.5 stars

SIX WEEKS TO LIVE by Catherine McKenzie is a riveting novel of psychological suspense and family drama. I am a big fan of the Catherine McKenzie’s books so I was thrilled for the chance to read an early copy of her latest and it definitely did not disappoint! I was hooked right from the beginning and the suspense never let up right up to the shocking conclusion. Forty-eight-year-old Jennifer Barnes is stunned when her doctor gives her the news that she has terminal brain cancer and only six weeks to live. She vows she will use that time to get her affairs in order and spend time with her adult triplet daughters and twin grandsons even though her health will likely decline rapidly. Her world is further upended when she sees a staggeringly high level of lead in her blood on a routine lab report from a year before. Could someone have purposely tried to poison her? Jennifer immediately suspects her cheating husband, Jake, from whom she is estranged and who has been begging her for a divorce. With the time she has remaining, she sets out to prove Jake is responsible. While her relationship with her daughters hasn’t always been perfect, for their own reasons they reluctantly agree to help her solve the mystery. They are skeptical that their Dad is involved, but who else could want Jennifer dead? As the story progresses, secrets, lies and drama unfold with twists and turns I never saw coming. I enjoyed this twisty and sinister thriller and highly recommend it! Thank you to the author, Atria Books and NetGalley for the chance to read an early copy. This is my honest review.

Woah! This is a twisty book. There are so many turns and secrets in this book. This novel introduces us to Jennifer a mother of adult triplets. Her husband left her about a year ago and now she is terminally ill will brain cancer. She also has suspicions that someone tried to kill her. It’s a race against what little time she has left to figure out if she was poisoned.
This book starts off in a doctors office and bam your thrown a curveball and they just keep coming. This is fast paced and well written you are sucked in from the first page. All the characters are flawed and messy. I could feel the characters pain while reading this book. I’ve never read a Catherine McKenzie book before but this won’t be my last.

Interesting psychological thriller about a women diagnosed with a brain tumor with six weeks to live. She is convinced she was poisoned and the story keeps you turning the pages and guessing until the very end.

I wanted to like this book, I really did. Maybe it’s the fact that the MC had the same type of cancer that my friend is fighting. The writing itself was fine, I just found the storyline kind of sickening. If you were dying would you really want to spend your last weeks driving gaps between you and your family?

3 stars!
Forty-eight year old Jennifer is told she has an inoperable brain tumor and has six weeks to live. She struggles with the idea that she was poisoned with lead a year ago and that is the cause of her cancer. She accuses her husband Jake because she will not give him a divorce.
Jennifer and Jake have Twenty-five year old triplet daughters together; Miranda, Emily and Aline. Each of these girls have their own issues and deal with their mother's illness differently. There is a lot of family dysfunction and drama which leads to a conclusion that I did not see coming.
Although, this was not my favorite Catherine McKenzie book, I do look forward to reading her other books in the future.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Mystery/thriller about a mother who finds out she has cancer and has 6 weeks to live. She slowly starts to suspect she was poisoned, and spends her remaining time trying to figure out who and why. Was someone trying to kill her? Or is it all on her head? 😱
This is a bit of a slow burn, but had a few surprising twists. I wouldn’t say any of it was shocking really, there were minor hints throughout the book that made me suspect “whodunit.” This is written from 4 points of view. The mother and her 3 grown daughters (triplets).
There were a couple extremely minor aspects that hit close to home and made it hard to get through for me personally, and there really wasn’t many likable characters. But overall I think it was worth the read!
Also, side note, you don’t see chapter titles in books much anymore these days, and this one has a lot of fun chapter titles. (I think they were song titles?) And I always think that adds a little something!

This is not your typical psychological thriller! Jennifer finds out that she has cancer and wonders if past irregular lab tests were what led to this diagnosis. Could someone be responsible for this??? Through her last 6 weeks of life, Jennifer and her family reveal many secrets that have been kept for years and years. This was a book that kept me turning pages!!!

I was intrigued by the premise of this book. What would the twist be if the synopsis tells you the main character is going to die? Jennifer gets her diagnosis in the first few pages of the book: her cancer is terminal and she has, as the title says, six weeks to live. She panics, wondering what she will tell her three daughters and her ex-husband. Then she remembers that her previous trip to the doctor revealed she had suffered from lead poisoning. Could the two be related? The book takes the reader along for the ride as the secrets Jennifer and her family have been keeping from each other slowly come out, leading to the devastating conclusion. Catherine McKenzie does a good job of keeping the reader guessing about the ultimate outcome. Thanks to NetGalley for the free advance copy.

This book was one where I wanted to sit down and only stand up after I'd finished it. I was immediately drawn into this book and it kept my attention the entire way through. Even though I had a hunch from the beginning as to "who did it," I still thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It felt like peeling back the layers of an onion and finding more and more about the family (what lingers beneath the surface).

What a ride! Six Weeks to Live kept me tearing through pages until the wee hours of the morning. This novel opens with a fatal prognosis, and remained gripping until the very last page. Elizabeth has had a tough few years after her husband of 20 years blindsided her with a divorce. Now, just as she is starting to stand on her own two feet again, she learns she has quite literally six weeks to live. A former med student, she begins to research her condition for answers, and fears this may not have been pure bad luck.
With POVs switching between Elizabeth and her adult triplets, this one leaves you breathless and uneasy. Is anyone a reliable narrator? Did someone truly do this on purpose?
A shocking twist led to another 5 star rating for Catherine McKenzie!
