Six Weeks to Live by Catherine McKenzie is one that you will have trouble putting down. I found myself on an emotional rollercoaster throughout this book, with an ending I did not see coming. Jennifer Barnes received some devastating news at a routine doctor's appointment. She has a glioblastoma which is a terminal brain tumor and the worst one you can. have. They give her six weeks to live as there are no treatments or cure. She wants to spend her last six weeks with her triplet daughters and her twin grandsons. But then some bloodwork uncovers that she may have been poisoned in the past year. She is determined to find out who is behind this before it is too late. As she begins to ponder who might be responsible she immediately thinks of her soon to be ex-husband as they are going through a nasty divorce. Her daughters are all dealing with the news in their own way. They all doubt that it is their father and Jennifer begins to wonder if the poisoning is all in her head or does someone really want her dead? This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and just when you think you have everything figured out "LOOK OUT". Thank you to Net Galley and Catherine McKenzie for the opportunity to read this thriller.

I have read everything by this author. Why? Her writing style has evolved into this slow burn that keeps the pages turning well past my bedtime. You get this one right at the beginning. Jennifer has six weeks to live. With characters who could easily be your neighbors and a solid storyline, you can feel the suspense as a little twist in your belly that that builds as you read. The timing is spot on and then the WHOA when you realize who it is. Nicely done.

Six Weeks to Live was a deeply insightful glance into the "taboo" part of one's health - mental health. From start to finish I could not put this book down. It was one that will haunt me for months to come. A family can be full of secrets even though they are "perfectly presented" to the outside world. Some secrets - the most dangerous - occur between the family members themselves - can truly affect a person's future dramatically. This book was exquisitely written and drew such a vivid picture of a "not so perfect" perfect family. Everyone has flaws and things they are not proud of...but this book goes way beyond an "I'm sorry" and "I won't do it again" type of apology. Another heart-wrenching, nail - biting, read with at least the night light on thriller novel that is sure to please ALL who read it. Congratulations Catherine...you've done it again. ☺️📖 If I could, I would rate it 10 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Atria Books, NetGalley and the author for an ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. I'm a big fan of Catherine McKenzie, and I was thrilled to receive this title. What a unique plot. A divorced mom, with adult triplets, is given 6 weeks to live. Already enough to throw anyone into a tailspin, Jennifer then sees something that makes her believe she was actually being poisoned before her diagnosis. Trying to manage her terminal diagnosis, her daughters and how they are handling the future AND trying to figure out who might've been trying to kill her is woven into a narrative between Jennifer and each of the three girls. This was an outstanding book, and I highly recommend it. This was a winner all the way.

This is my first read from Catherine McKenzie and I have heard so many great things I couldn’t wait to dive into this book. I think she has a way of writing that grips your attention. I enjoyed the different perspectives and the plot definitely had its twists!

This was another eerie domestic suspense read by Catherine McKenzie, who does such a great job of building an interesting and engaging cast of characters to tell her stories. We follow Jennifer, questioning if her sudden and aggressive cancer diagnosis was the result of something much more sinister than bad luck. I really enjoyed that the book was told from the perspectives of Jennifer's triplets, each with their own, very different personalities and opinions. This book was definitely twisty, with a heavy dose of family drama and unreliable narrators, allowing the reader to keep turning the pages late into the night!

I was really into the beginning of this book; then I feel like it started dragging and becoming overly repetitive. The twist at the end was interesting but made me mad. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

Six Weeks to Live is a thrilling story of 40 something year old woman, diagnosed with cancer and only has six weeks left to live. The twist is that she shouldn't be sick and she definitely should not be dying. The book revolves around Jennifer trying to figure out if someone poisoned her, before she runs out of time. What began to me as a simple "whodunnit" type novel turned into a story of a broken family, and how the sins of the parents, Jennifer and Jake, have affected their children, Emily, Aline, and Miranda who are triplets but but couldn't be more different from each other. Although we are trying to figure out what happened to Jennifer, the story becomes so much bigger than her. We step into a story where relationships are strained and everyone looks suspicious at some point, including Jennifer herself, and McKenzie leaves us bracing ourselves until the end for the answer.

I personally have never read a novel from McKenzie before but it has been a while since I've read a true suspense novel in which I hung onto every page.

Catherine McKenzie is one of my favorite authors, and I always know I am in for a good read when I pick up one of her books. I was provided an ARC of "Six Weeks to Live" from NetGalley. Jennifer, the mother of adult triplet daughters, is diagnosed with brain cancer and given six weeks to live. She learns that the levels of lead in her body were astronomically high the year before and decides that her estranged husband had poisoned her and caused the cancer. Jennifer spends the next few weeks trying to prove that he was guilty. However, during that time, secrets from all the family members come out as the story races to a chilling ending. I highly recommend this book!

Wow, wow, wow. What a deeply disturbing thriller. I thought I had it figured out a couple of time and boom there's a twist. I couldn't put this book down and became deeply invested in the truth of the story. What a complex family dynamic. So good. So recommended.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for this ARC

I have to say I am a huge HUGE fan of Catherine Mckenzie , but when I read the description of this book, I really didn't expect much as I thought it was extremely far fetched. A woman learns that she has cancer with only roughly six weeks to live and she thinks someone poisoned her with the cancer? Come on now! I thought "well I got to read this and see how insane this really is"

I was not expecting to love it as much as I did. This is a great suspense novel and to be honest its been a long time since I read one that was this original. I love the fact that she had triplets but two of them were identical twins while one was a fraternal twin. (That piece reminded me of a Tami Hoag novel I had read years ago). There were so many aspects of what could have happened to Jennifer.

I honestly want to write so much more, BUT since the book hasn't been released yet, I don't want to give anything away. The most I can say is def put this on you TBR

This is a unique thriller in many ways and one that I really enjoyed. The main character, Jennifer, finds out that she is dying of a brain tumor and only has six weeks to live. She is shocked, of course, but also highly suspicious about how this could have happened to her. She begins to suspect that her ex-husband is somehow behind her illness. She shares her suspicions with her daughters and they swing between disbelief and skeptically questioning their father. As a reader, you are in the same tug-of-war. It is also fascinating to unravel the layers of Jennifer’s relationships with her daughters. They are each complicated but in different ways and for different reasons that slowly come to light.

I was drawn to Jennifer’s internal struggle with her impending death (I cannot even imagine what that reality would be like) and her desperation to find answers to huge questions while she is still here. The end has a twist that I did not see coming and left me thinking for days. I highly recommend this book to readers who love thrillers and domestic suspense. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you to Atria Books and the author Catherine McKenzie for this ARC and opportunity to read and review this amazing book!

Jennifer learns that she has cancer and only six weeks to live. Only it makes no sense since she’s always been such a healthy person and took care of herself. She starts to do some digging and comes to believe that she was poisoned. But by who? We follow Jennifer on her journey through this book to find out what truly happened and why.

I absolutely loved this book! Every twist and turn was such a shock. Especially the ending! Definitely jaw dropping twist at the end. The story is told from four different points of views changing from Jennifer herself and going to her three daughters. It helps keep you guessing on what has happened and who the true victims and who the true culprits are. Highly recommend!

Excellent drama of Jennifer - a mother to triplets and her husband, Jake.

The reader follows the different-minded triplets through their struggles with their mom's diagnosis. Jennifer's husband, meanwhile, had been begging her for a divorce. As the story unfolds we are taken through a journey of Jennifer's personal life and her dilemmas. A very interesting story.

A MUST READ!!!

Many Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for a superb read!

What would you do if you found out you had six weeks to live and an inkling that someone was to blame for this prognosis?!?

That's exactly what happened to Jennifer. Doctors gave her six weeks to live and Jennifer suspects that someone poisoned her. Did someone poison her? The soon-to-be ex-husband? The new boyfriend? One of her daughters? So many suspects!

Six Weeks to Live was a unique and enjoyable domestic suspense. I don't think I have read anything quite like it. This novel does have a who-dunit suspense to it but is overall more of a simmering domestic drama. And I don't know about you, but I love reading all about twisted family drama... so many secrets and lies! I really enjoyed delving into Jennifer's relationships with her almost ex-husband and her 3 daughters (a set of identical twins and a fraternal twin) who are SO different.

It definitely kept me guessing until the end about what really happened to Jennifer. I flew through the second half of this book because once I hit a certain point, I couldn't put it down until I knew what happened!

Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for an e-arc of this book in exchange for my honest review!

This was a good book. I did have a hard time at times because I have lost two friends to this terrible cancer that the main character has to endure. However the plot is great and had good twists. I am glad I got to read it!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

I love thrillers and medical mysteries so this was a good combination for me. The book went in an entirely different direction than I expected; I hope reviews are all vague so that everyone is just as surprised.

Overall, a good read. It wasn’t my favorite of Catherine McKenzie’s books mainly because I didn’t feel connected to the characters.

Catherine MCKenzie delivers a twisty story with a surprising ending. I was pulled into this story from the beginning, feeling for Jennifer and her diagnosis. As she grappled with her suspicions, I felt I had a sense for what was happening to Jennifer, only to be led in a new direction and even that was incorrect!.An interesting story that kept me engaged, even as the ending was unsettling. I recommend this story for anyone who enjoys stories with layers and surprises.
