I have read a few other books by this author and I thought this one sounded so good. It was! I really liked the suspense and back and forth with what was going on in the story. Short chapters and the characters were only a few so easy to keep up with. Definitely will recommend this to friends and family in my reading circle. Thank you!

Another fantastic book by Catherine McKenzie! Not as frantic as her last book, this one doesn't exactly have a slow burn, either. Figuring out the mystery was teased out in exactly the right length of time to keep me enthralled, introducing bits of information at just the right time! Great read, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it.

Jennifer Barnes never expected the shocking news she received at a routine doctor’s appointment: she has a terminal brain tumor and only six weeks left to live.
But that's not all that lies beneath the surface!
You won't beat !e to out the thriller down.
This story was so intriguing I had to finish it

I’m a huge fan of Catherine McKenzie and whenever she has a new book come out, I can’t wait to dive in and read it. She is such an amazing story teller and when I finish every single book, I say to myself “Where does she come with this stuff?” This took me on a ride unlike any other. Gripping, suspenseful, family drama, lies - I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next … another great book!! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book! The story was interesting, the characters were believable and it kept me reading almost straight through until I finished it. I didn’t anticipate the ending or the way the story played out. That was an interesting surprise twist.

Jennifer Barnes goes in for a routine doctor's appointment and comes out with the shocking news that she has terminal brain cancer. The doctor estimates that she only has about six weeks left to live. She goes home, and rallies her 3 adult daughters to give them the news. Before she can, she discovers some disturbing information - it looks like she may have had lead poisoning and that could have been what caused the cancer. Now she decides to spend her final weeks trying to discover who it was who wanted to kill her, and why.
Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of this author. That said, this book just didn't do it for me. The story is told in the viewpoint of Jennifer and all three daughters. I didn't find any of them, Jennifer included, particularly likeable. The book started out suspenseful, and ended up that way, but seemed to lose steam a little bit in the middle. Don't get me wrong..... it was a good book, and if you like thrillers then I think you should read it. It just wasn't this author's best work.

Jennifer is the mother of three triplet daughters and has just found out that she is dying from cancer. This is the overall premise, but definitely not the forefront of the novel. She has a lot going on. She has a husband that wants a divorce and estranged and difficult relationships with her adult daughters. I liked that the chapters were alternated between Jennifer and her daughters. I felt the characters were well developed and well written. The suspense element was well entwined in the book. I love that this author does not disappoint. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

Catherine McKenzie is one of my favorite authors because her books always have a last minute surprise you didn't see coming. Six Weeks to Live did not let me down! Jennifer Barnes is a mom of adult triplets when she finds out she has terminal brain cancer. She begins her countdown while trying to make amends with her family. Jennifer, who refuses to give her husband a divorce, is convinced that someone poisoned her the previous year when the doctor makes a comment that Jennifer didn't follow up on her lab results. What follows is an unraveling of secrets and half-truths that make you question everyone's decisions!
Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I wasnt sure about this book at first but once i got into it, I couldnt put it down. Lots of twists and turns. What a ride. Highly recommend this book.

Catherine McKenzie has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She did not disappoint with this book! It was once again another well written, suspenseful book that kept me glued to it until the very end. This book had some great twists and turns.
Jennifer Barnes has just been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor. As she struggles with the harsh reality she notices that the prior year her labs were off. She believes she was poisoned and is determined to prove it was her ex-husband. With the help of her three daughters, they begin unraveling all their family issues and secrets. Do her daughters believe her or are they just placating her? Is it just the brain tumor making her paranoid?
This book is full of family dysfunction and lies. It's definitely worth the read!

Catherine McKenzie is one of the most original writers I’ve had the pleasure of reading. This book is super intriguing and had me on my toes the whole time!

I'm obviously in the minority here. This felt like Run and Sharp Objects with some unseeing twists and turns.
So the ending felt anti-climatic. Having watched my own grandmother suçcumb to brain cancer this was tough. It's a horrid way to die. This was just...not my type of book. A fractured family at the end that had no morals or love for anyone but themselves.no redeeming qualities not even the writing.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy. This was just a rare miss for the books I've been getting from S & S

Absolutely loved this one ! It was so emotional and yet a gut punching undertone of suspense! I couldn’t put it down and stayed up way too late. Imagine being told you have six weeks to live and realize that you may have been poisoned !!!
Filled with family drama, heartbreak, lies , deceit and the biggest form of betrayal this book is a page turner from the start! This is not an easy read as it does deal with a mother’s passing !! If you are seeking a family filled drama and suspense read then this book is for you !
Kudos to the author who is now an automatic purchase for me ! Thank you so much @netgalley and the editor for this gem !

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. This was my first book from Catherine McKenzie, and it definitely won’t be my last. There were so many twists and turns and I pointed fingers and everyone, and never would have guessed the ending. Books like these always end up my favorites. I can’t wait to check out other books by her!

What would you do if you only had 𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲? What would you do if you thought the reason you were dying was because you suspected someone poisoned you?
Between the mystery and the family drama, you won’t be able to put this one down! I loved how relatable the characters were. This was the first book I’ve read by @catherinemckenzieauthor but it definitely will not be my last!
Thank you @atriabooks, @simonandschuster, & @netgalley for this #ARC!

Thank you for allowing me to read this ARC. This book was amazing. Great story line and it made you keep wondering "who did this"

Jennifer thinks she may have been poisoned by her evil ex-husband. After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis, she grapples with processing the information as well as how to inform her family. Every moment dissected leading up to her doctor visit including the abnormal blood tests.
Aline, Emily, and Miranda, are Jennifer’s grown triplet daughters in various stages of adulthood. Failure to launch Miranda lives at home, Emily is a devoted mom and wife, and Aline a career woman.
Each daughter approaches their mother’s illness differently and the road to acceptance spurs many conversations among them. They don’t seem to agree on anything except that they talk around each other but don’t communicate important matters. As the book progresses, the ghosts of family dysfunction emerge and things get very interesting!
I had no problem tracking the multiple characters in the story. Each had a distinct position and the titled chapters alternated between several different viewpoints.
The subject of death and getting your affairs in order was sad at times but I enjoyed the book overall. I was hovering between three and four stars, but the payoff ending made this solid for me. Totally unexpected - I loved it!
I would recommend this to those readers liking psychological thrillers with a heavy helping of family drama.
Thank you to the author, Atria Books, and NetGalley for my advance review copy.

I love a story that starts strong and doesn’t slow down... this book delivers a fast paced, multi layered, thrill of a ride! Jennifer has a tumor. It’s terminal. All I have to say is this is a twisty tale and you won’t guess the ending.

I was not expecting very much out of this book before I read it. This story has many layers that we undercover and examine very closely. It also makes one think about their own mortality and trying to right the wrongs that we may have done initially. Also there is the issues of siblings and the trials of life we go through with them in our life or without them. This book is very well written. I will be recommending this to anyone wanting to read something new or something to sink your teeth into! Loved it!!!!

This is one well-plotted, twisted, psychological thriller that had me guessing right up until the very last page!
Imagine for a second, - that you have been given a fatal diagnosis. Then you find out that you only have six weeks or so to complete your "to -do list"!
You have to say good-bye to your three daughters, and two grandsons, and your very best friend in the world.
That's bad enough, but then to find out you have been poisoned and it may have actually contributed to this awful cancer?
WHAT?!?!
Who would do this to Jennifer and why? She only has one person in mind that would have a reason. Could/Would her husband really, truly want to kill her to get his way? They have not been on good terms for a long while, and he did ask for a divorce, but really??
This entire novel had me going back and forth with Jennifer to put all the clues together with such little time!
You will not believe it or maybe you will.
Definitely an intriguing story that is well played out! I really loved it!
