Ranches are my happy place setting in books so of course, I was very excited to have the opportunity to read Snow on the Range.

I had no idea there were deer ranches though. Is that a thing? Do we need ranches for deer? Hmmm

Beyond that little sticking point, I really enjoyed this story! Loved the main characters and the action and mystery made this one a quick page-turner. Knowing this is a new series makes it even better. I'll have to keep my eyes open for Book 2 to see what's next on tap!

Thank you to #Netgalley and #LittleQuailPress for this ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

If you are a fan of romantic suspense with a little thriller element thrown in, then this is definitely the book fo you! Ms. Aves is a new-to-me author, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this book up. Eve and her twin brother Travis are at the family ranch helping out for Christmas. They both go into town for supplies and end up bringing drifters back with them who help out with the chores. Who are these people and why are they here? Things are not what they seem and trouble is coming. This book had me completely intrigued and engrossed and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Suspense, thrill, and heartfelt emotion will definitely have you turning the pages. The author also did a nice job of setting the scenes and making you feel as if you were right there. A really great read, and I plan to read more by this author in the future!

I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

A little bid of mystery and romance mixed together, never hurt anyone! I was instantly intrigued by the synopsis of this book. This book instantly drew me in, I got to explore through the eyes of our main character and this is always my favorite way to discover these details of the story and, it was done very well in this book. I really enjoyed this book and the plot. This author did amazing. I loved the writing style.

This was my first Sofia Aves book and it sadly didn’t do anything for me. I felt the book was disjointedtt, not very interesting and just plain dark.

Eve and her twin brother, Trav, live on their childhood ranch which is close to two hours outside of town. She goes to town and picks up a few drivers to help out around the ranch during the winter. Her father suffered a stroke so I guess they need a few more folks. Her brother had picked up a drifter slay so now two people are coming to the ranch. Several mysterious events later, we have a crime to solve but it read like a first grader’s attempt to tell a story. It just didn’t sound professional at all. And my biggest problem with the story is why didn’t Archer grab Simon early on instead of allowing all the craziness to occur? That just didn’t make any sense to me and shot holes through this entire book. And that is only one reason why I will not read the rest of the series.

I love a good cowboy / ranch story, but this is nothing like any I have read before. Too many side characters were introduced with no real purpose - I assume to set up more books in the series. But don’t bother - it’s just not interesting.

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

At a ranch where drifters are welcome to work there's bound to be some drama at some point, right? You don't really know who these people are, do you? Well, that's what the owners of this ranch do and it has worked very well for them in the past.

Nicely written book, very likable characters. I had no trouble getting into the story. It was interesting. I very quickly became suspicious of one of the drifters who just seemed off to me. As the story went along there was some mystery, drama, suspicion, and of course, romance.

I liked the book and recommend it.

Fantastic read. Stirs up a whole load of emotions in you. The plot was great. Lots of twists and turns to keep you reading. The book was very well written.

Quick romantic read with a bit of mystery thrown in. Two drifters come to stay for Christmas, both handsome and sexy but which one is for real?

The blurb tells you there is a plot—but there is no mystery here—it can’t be more obvious. The main character, Eve, is twenty-five and horny. It’s nearing Christmas and one of the two drifters (not Montana cowboys) they’ve taken in for the holidays is yanking her chain. The other would like to. She and her family have a deer ranch—and bison--near the Canadian border.

There are so many contradictions, omissions, edit misses and plot holes, I was constantly trying to “fix” as I went along.

Some of the descriptions of the area pull you in, then throw you right back out with another inconsistency. It’s a tell not show and dialogue is weak. Eve is petulant, scattered, and clumsy. Most characters are one-dimensional.

The conclusion makes little sense and the narrative appears to be a vehicle for the graphic sex scene. The whole thing would have benefited from several more editors.

I'm struggling to rate this book.
I liked the main characters, however I felt the other characters were underdeveloped and the relationships and actions of the family a bit strange.
I liked the overall plot, but felt in lacked detail and description in places..
For me the main problem. Was the writing.. I felt there was repetition in phrases and in many places it was confusing where characters were and what day it was. I found it confusing in places and had to re read a few pages back to make sure I hadn't missed something.
I would have liked more detail about the brothers injury, the fathers outcome and the mothers injury etc
I would be rating 2 stars were it not for the fact I like Eve and Archer and the chemistry between them.

Snow on the Range by Sofia Aves is A Red Hart Ranch Christmas Special, and my first book by this author. I found this book to be a quick read, but I wanted more details. I found the parents behavior to be a little strange, why no hospital for the dad, the brother was taken there right away. I just thought this book could be more, especially since it's the first book in the Red Hart Ranch series. I will try this author again. Why not read this book and see what you think, plenty of people seemed to love it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is a exciting suspense filled thriller with romance too.The story will pull you in and have you on the edge of your seat. The characters are captivating.Avie and her twin go into town for supplies for their holiday upcoming dinner. They always have a big dinner for the cowboys that don't go home for the holidays.Eve comes back with a drifter to have dinner and maybe interested in working for a while her twin brother also comes home with a drifter.Eve shouldn't be attracted to a man she knows nothing about but something draws her to Rhys. This story is full of mystery and suspense. The chemistry between the drifter Rhys and Evil is smoking hot an off the charts.will they take advantage of their attraction? When Rhys secret is revealed will that be the end of their chance of happiness.?There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted til the very last page an leave you begging for more. I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions an their pain.

A lot of people have given high reviews on this one, so I must be missing something. Tried by picking it up three different times and struggled to read far or get into the characters. Not sure what the issue was, but finally threw in the towel on this one.

Snow on the Range: A Red Hart Ranch Christmas Special by Sofia Aves
Publisher: Little Quail Press
Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Mystery & Thrillers | Romance
Release Date: December 1, 2020

Snow on the Range is the first book in the Red Hart Ranch books by Sofia Aves (and I hope there are a lot more coming!)

I really enjoyed this romance. It had a great pace to it and took place over Christmas, so it was neat to hear about ranch Christmas traditions. I loved the characters (strong female lead!) and that there was some mystery added to the story.

The romance is steamy (NSFW)...WOW! Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about Eve in the future. I could not put this book down!

I'm so grateful to Sofia Aves, Little Quail Press, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Snow on the Range is a romance with a suspenseful thriller element.
Eve and Travis are twins and will one day be heirs to their home - Red Hart Ranch. Upon a trip into town to collect supplies, both twins meet drifters and offer them a place to stay in exchange for work over Christmas.
All is well until strange accidents keep occurring around the ranch. An Eve possibly has been drugged, but by who?
When Eve is hurt, who can she really trust?
This is a great romance and kept me reading on with the thriller element. I will definitely be looking for the other books in this series too!

Okay i wanna say it is me!! i literally wanted to love this book, the cover and the description sold me but when reading it i kinda fell into a slump or something. I made it 40% through and half the time i felt like dosing off which in this case i have DNF'd the book, again possibly might be me as i have seen many many good reviews about this book.

However i do not think this one was for me.

I enjoyed this book. It had romance, intrigue and mystery on a ranch. While the title descries it as a Christmas novel, it is a novel that takes place around Christmas but I would not say it is a "Christmas" novel. I liked the characters and plot and I would look to read other things by this writer. I received a copy from Net Galley. My opinion and review is honest and voluntary.
