really enjoyed this one and it was an easy read which provided a perfect distraction from our current world.
Mia and Luke were both such likeable characters and I loved seeing their relationship blossom throughout the story, despite a couple of setbacks.
Their method of communicating was really cute and an added novelty to a narrative which also focuses on stereotypes and abusive relationships.
I liked how the author sought to show how relationships can blossom and that everyone deserves a chance: you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Mia Abbott has just recently moved away from all her family and friends to help get away from a horrible ex boyfriend. She is bound and determined to make it on her own and not let anyone get past the wall she has put up as the result of a string of bad past relationships. She has taken to people watching the two individuals opposite her flat. In one flat is 'Hot Guy Opposite' who works out every morning at precisely 10 am. An event Mia is given the opportunity to witness while sitting at her computer doing her work. The other is 'Immaculate Woman', who always seems to have herself put together and looking perfect. One night Mia decides to venture out and check out the local bar. Low and behold, she runs into Hot Guy Opposite Luke, who coincidentally owns the bar. Immediately there was an instant connection, one that Mia was determined to stub out from the get go. However Luke, an absolute womanizer, and his charming personality convince Mia to take him up on his offer of being her own personal guide to show her around. What Mia wasn't expecting was not only falling head over heels for this man, but facing some difficult challenges, which also includes Immaculate Woman, and past insecurities along the way. Will both individuals be able to let go of their pasts and finally be able to be with their one true love?
I want to thank Netgalley and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read and review this book. It was a cute, entertaining easy read. Although I did get a bit irritated with Mia's tendency to jump the gun more often than not and Luke's occasional cockiness, the storyline was pretty cute and also had some deep thought provoking moments in it. I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good British rom-com. I rate this ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a really fun romance and I loved every single one of the characters, however it was OVERLY cheesy. I love a sprinkling but this was like taking a bath in cheddar.

I did really enjoy that the story took place in Manchester as that is where I am from so I knew the places they were talking about!

I usually don't mind plots that make no sense since the characters and their relationships are able to make up for it, however, that was not the case for this book. This story had so much drama and so many misunderstandings that I was spending more time being frustrated rather than enjoying the book. I've also come to terms with the fact that there are very few British romances that I can read, the jokes and the writing just does not translate well.

A huge thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC. All opinions are honest and my own.

I picked this one up earlier this year, couldn't immediately get into it, and put it down again - I'm glad I revisited it though, because I found it fun and charming! The premise was unique - two people living across the street from each other, leaving messages in the window - and I got super invested in the characters. Fun and quick!

I loved this novel! It was cute and enjoyable. It was the perfect beach and vacation read. I started it at the beginning of my holiday and finished it on the plane ride home! Such a great book! Highly recommend!

I really wanted to like this romance novel, but it took me a while to get into it. I struggled to connect with the characters and didn't feel their chemistry. I guessed the twist fairly early. The little bunny was adorable and there were a few steamy moments.

This is an interesting concept, but just felt a little young for an adult romance. Mia just recently moved to get away from her crazy ex boyfriend. This has made her reserved so when she meets Luke at a bar she doesn’t give him his number. Turns out their apartments are right across from each other. So they end up talking through notes across the way. This is a somewhat cute story but I think I would have enjoyed it more and found it better suited if the main characters were teenagers or if there were some other points to make this plot line work better.

It’s been a while since I read one of Kathryn’s book and I forgot what a wonderful writer she is.
I devoured this book, reading it at every opportunity and I loved the story of Mia and Luke. Mia moves to Manchester following the break up of a nasty relationship when she meets Luke, the bar owner across the road. Mia is attracted to Luke but he is a ladies man and appears to have slept with a number of women. Mia was in such a bad relationship when she swapped her telephone number she won’t even give her telephone number to anyone but family and a select few close friends.
When Luke meets Mia he is instantly attracted to her and feels something he hasn’t felt for a long time. Luke lives across the street from Mia and so they communicate via messages in the windows.
There are also characters such as Stan and Elle who bring their own lives into the story which I really enjoyed.
This was pure escapism, humourous and an easy read.

I knew instantly i'd enjoy this book as it's perfect for me. Light hearted, easy and enjoyable to read. The characters are lovely, and the development between them is fantastic. I flew through this.

This book is almost reminiscent of Taylor Swift's "You belong to me" with Luke putting messages in his window to attract the attention of Mia who is new to town and not looking for love at all. A Very sweet quick read that will make you smile.

I absolutely adored this book. I had the pleasure of interviewing the author for my blog and it was an honor to get to read her work.

The MC in this story is so unlikable and judgmental, it makes me wonder how much of the author's feelings about women are woven in this story. Slut shaming, fat shaming, any kind of shaming you can image is in this story. The other MC, Luke, the hot guy next door, constantly is arguing with Mia and WOW, give it up. There is a way to introduce chemistry through differing personalities but this AIN'T IT! I was not a big fan of the reflection/internal dialogue after every interaction. At a certain point, let's move on from the same scene. The book is lazy and not original, but very overdone on every stereotypical rom-com trope.

I received an advance copy; all thoughts are my own.

When I first starting read this one, I thought it would be a super cute, easy romance. While it was largely that, it was also boring and hard to read, in my opinion. Wish I had loved this one more than I actually did, but the love interest and the main character were both too flat and I didn’t think they meshed well together. Their relationship progression seemed awkward and forced. Really enjoyed the premise but the execution fell flat.

Kathryn Freeman's Mr Right Across the Street is the perfect summer rom-com. This cutesy tale of neighbors who exchange written notes through their windows is just what I needed to kick off my summer reading.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Mr Right Across the Street definitely had it's cute moments but I honestly couldn't overlook all the unnecessary drama and secrets. It was starting to get a bit frustrating dealing with half-truths and then the drama that unfolded right after it. I just don't understand why communication is so hard for people. Whether it's friendship or dating - please talk to one another!

Other than that, I will admit that I did like the idea of Luke being with Mia. Especially once all the secrets came out to play. It was pretty obvious that he kept things in and lived a personal life. As for Mia, she was okay and somewhat likable. I just feel like they both had a list of pros and cons with me. At times, I liked them and other times I just wanted to strangle them for being idiots.

In the end, I am glad that I got the chance to dive into this and finally found the time to do so. It was definitely cute.
