This is a don't-put-it-down novel. Louisa and Cody's story is rich with personal history, deep emotions, and sweet love. The imagery is beautiful and I both wanted to get to the end and didn't want it to end. I'm a huge fan of Courtney Walsh, but this may be my favorite of hers to date. The imagery of Nantucket was poetic in its description and the longing to heal from the past and find a new path forward was heart-wrenching and hope-filled.

Such an encouraging book. It really helped me to get some different perspectives on issues we all face with families and community. It was helpful to see how people respond these challenges and be reminded of God’s constant grace and love towards each of us.

IS IT ANY WONDER by COURTNEY WALSH is a romance novel with a great story and unforgettable characters. There is also a strong Christian message of forgiveness, of others as well as one's self, running through it. We are reminded of the fact that a person can never be good enough to please God, and that only He can make things new.
Louisa Chambers is a delightful person, quirky and direct, but she is a people pleaser and tries hard to make broken relationships whole, mostly in her own strength. She regrets her actions twelve years previously when she lost her first love, Cody Boggs. She also feels responsible for his father's death and the rift between his mother and her parents, who used to be the best of friends.
Cody is sent back to Nantucket by the Coast Guard, the last place on earth he wants to be because of painful memories. He is angry and withdrawn, blaming himself for what happened to his father and determined to not let Louisa break his heart again.
The author gives us insight into the characters' emotions and family dynamics in general. She has an amusing way of letting us know what Louisa is thinking, which I really like. There is a lot more to the story but I will leave things there, excepting to say that it is a most enjoyable and worthwhile read and one I highly recommend.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Tyndale House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
