Get Good with Money is a TRUTH-TELLER in its finest!

Tiffany "The Budgetnista" Aliche leaves no stone unturned in opening our eyes to the sickening, embarrassing and shameful nature of DEBT that she experienced firsthand during the recession of 2008, in her quest to ensure that each and everyone of us knows that DEBT is NOT the end of our purposeful lives.

Tiffany takes us back with her to her early financial calling in her Nigerian home by the retelling of her first experience with money and how MONEY can be used to fulfill us as well as remind us that DEBT must be repaid and sometimes in the REPAYMENT there is pain but ,more importantly there is LEARNING.

Get Good with Money is a necessary book for our time as we have come thru a health crisis the likes of which many had never seen before in the form of the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020. 2020 left many of us with insurmountable debt and now we have been given the blueprint for overcoming that DEBT on our journey of becoming FINANCIALLY WHOLE. Financial wholeness is a level of understanding that mandates that all facets of our lives must be in order if we expect to conquer our debt on our path to developing a better relationship with money, budgeting, investing, and how we view wealth in life. This is MY time to Get Good with Money! This is YOUR time to Get Good with Money! This is OUR time to GET GOOD WITH MONEY!!!

This is the simplest in-depth book I have read. I love the personality of this author. It's like she is sitting in my house or wherever I'm reading this book. If I could give 20 stars I would!

Get Good With Money is a great book that leads to financial wholeness. Tiffany Aliche out did herself with this one. Including her humble beginnings and lessons with money into the book helped make her more relatable with the readers. She seems more like a big sis trying to help her huge family fix and keep from making financial mistakes. The ten steps to financial wholeness along with how she explains them couldn’t be easier. Examples such as save like a squirrel and budget building. Great starters for financial wholeness. And the tip of putting away any extra money not budgeted has really stuck with me. Now I have a plan to put into action and pass these steps on to my kids. Great job with book Tiffany! Keep teaching the world about financial wholeness and more!

I recently dug myself out of a huge hole of credit card debt (for the second time). I expected to feel happy, but instead I felt more overwhelmed. I had come far but still felt so far away. There were so many things I never even thought about like insurance, savings, investing... enter The Budgetnista and her Get Good with Money book. She has the soothing voice of a teacher with a plan. Her book is well organized with bite-sized lessons and doable steps. This isn’t your father’s financial help book. This is your good girlfriend telling you how she got good with money and you can too. Her relatable stories make you laugh and think. Her no-nonsense approach holds you accountable. From the beginning, she invites you to forgive yourself for your financial mistakes, identify your negative money mindsets and create new ones. I’m so excited that I’m finally learning how to build a solid financial foundation and manage my money better. Financial wholeness is achievable.

I have been trying to get my finances in order for 10 years. I would set goals try different apps nothing worked. No matter what I would never feel financially comfortable. Get Good With Money has changed my entire way of think about money. I was thinking I need a huge stack of money in my savings to feel comfortable, as soon as I saved I would spend or need the money. Now as I work to get WHOLE just after a few steps I’m feeling more comfortable then every. I can’t wait to Get Good With Money and finish my goal to be FINANCIALLY WHOLE.

Thank Tiffany for all you do to help us reach our goals.
I really recommend this book if you would like to fix your finances and be financially whole.

A great book on financial wholeness. Easy to read. Content broken down for all ages and financial needs. The great thing about it is that Tiffany acknowledges the shame, fear and distress that we all face when we make those big financial miscalculations and mistakes. She teaches you (yes, the teacher in her comes out) step by step how to get yourself up and running again. There is everything for everyone in this book. I look forward to financial wholeness in the not too distant future. At the very start she talks about one key thing that many of us never address. That is, how our upbringing influences the way we relate to money. Take a look back and understand your behaviour towards spending or savings. The book teaches you how to free yourself of mindsets that limit your financial growth, a move away from seeking financial freedom (leaves many feeling hopeless and working their socks off while not enjoying the process) towards financial wholeness.

Tiffany’s background as an educator + her sense of humor make this both a highly informative and enjoyable read. If you met me a year ago, I would have never said that about anything financial—my body would literally recoil and hiss at the thought of reading anything financial. What really makes this book shine is Tiffany’s knack for translating technical financial jargon so that you don’t tune out and instead—lean in as if you’re catching up with a good friend. Each chapter has bite-sized homework to work on to improve your financial wholeness and I was left feeling both empowered and peaceful—even during a pandemic—knowing I’m on track to boosting my financial health and have a short-term and long-term plan to support me. Tiffany’s homework really works—with just one tip I saw my credit score jump 40 points.

Grab a hot cup of tea, throw down some cozy pillows, because reading this book will get REAL very quickly. This book is for those struggling with finances. If you don't have your poop in a group in regards to budgeting, saving, and spending.....RUN AND GET THIS BOOK!
I loved how the author made it very simple, provided examples and it was like learning from an old friend.
I liked all of the analogies she does, the squirrel, the Noodle budget, etc. It really reinforces the point she is trying to make.
My absolute favorite part of the book is when she says....quit making your money just an acquaintance. You should KNOW everything about your money like how you know your best friend.
That point really struck home for me. DANG! I really DO need to know everything about my money!

Two BIG thumbs up for this book.

This is a fantastic book on getting good with money and teaches important principles to apply to your life. It is something I definitely could have used in my younger days, and I feel it’s a great asset for younger generations just starting out their financial future to help in building income and credit scores. There are so many good gems in this book about how to get good with money, and although I certainly would have loved to have this when I first started out years ago, it also offers great lessons, tools, and resources for anyone of any age in any stage of their life. There are budgenista boosters, dos and don’ts, suggestions and lessons from people she knows such as financial planners. A lot is covered in this book, but in an interesting and useful way. I love the structure, the layout, the tools and lessons, and the in-depth information. Many books might teach you what this one book will. Highly recommended.

When I saw on Tiffany Aliche, aka the Budgetnista’s Instagram that she’d written a book, I immediately wanted to devour it. So, I was super stoked to find it on NetGalley. Needless to say, less than three days after receiving a review copy, I’m done, and I loved it. No shocker there.

A preschool teacher who maybe saved a little too much, Tiffany Aliche had a good nest egg until the 2008 recession when she lost her job, and was conned out of her money, subsequently losing her condo and ending up in a lot of debt. Further back than she started, Aliche just wanted to get her financial life back into some kind of order. As she got organized and started paying back debt as well as building some wealth, she found that her teacher skills came in handy and she could help others on their own financial paths. She started Budgetnista and offered financial help. In this book, she offers clear, concise steps to help you get started reaching your own financial goals.

It’s broken up into 10 parts, or percentages of being “Financially Whole.” I really enjoyed the structure of the book. I like that she breaks down different scenarios based on your goals and situation. She offers possible solutions and trusts the reader enough to decide what’s best for them. Sure the basics are in here like tracking spending, budgeting, entry-level investing, etc, but unlike other guides I’ve seen that tell you get rid of all your debt before you start saving, Aliche realizes there is more than one way to do things to reach your goals, and comfort levels may vary depending on circumstances.

There is a LOT of information in this book. Not only does Aliche share her own journey, but she has guest contributors, experts in their fields to help navigate some of the more complicated but necessary financial steps. I love both her and their explanations and breakdowns of technical terms that you might actually need to be a CPA to fully understand. The book feels super approachable and doable, and that’s the most important part about any how to money guide. You have to feel like you can actually do it.

Plus, there are TONS of extra resources on her site, all kept up to date. Whether you’re looking for an accountability partner or someone to help plan your estate, Aliche’s guides will point you down a solid path. If you don’t already, I suggest you check out her website and follow her on Instagram for the latest info, and don’t forget to pick up a copy of this book from your fav indie bookstore or request a purchase at your local library. It’s coming at you in March!
