If you’re in the mood for a sweet, heartfelt and emotionally rich cowboy romance I have a rec for you!

From the synopsis: Sparks fly when a handsome cowboy and a strong-willed widow must work together, in this charming contemporary western romance.

I’m starting to realize that I really like a single parent trope, I think it’s because I love when an author does a good job incorporating kids into the story, and the author did a great job here. Ryan is Thea’s son and he really captured my heart, I adored his budding relationship with Wes, it was so tender and sweet. Since Thea and her kids are grieving the loss of Dylan, there was a beautiful exploration of grief and healing that I thought was handled really well. I found Thea and Wes to both be relatable and the way their relationship unfolded felt really genuine. My second book by the author and I’m now a firm fan, her books are adorable and such a breeze to read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Weston Harding is trying to tame his reckless lifestyle after an injury on the rodeo circuit. He has a chance to redeem himself when his pregnant sister is confined to a hospital bed and asks him to run a retreat at the family ranch for one week. Can Wes keep his promise and show everyone that he is a changed man?

Thea Davis is a widow with two children ready to go on a retreat at her best friend’s ranch that she has organized. When she arrives, she finds Wes Harding taking the place of her best friend. She remembers Wes too well and how he treated her years ago, so she is very leery to trust him. Can Thea put aside her old feelings and take a chance at happiness?

This was such a heartwarming story by Sara Richardson. The characters were well written, and you could feel the emotions of each character throughout the story. The setting, plot and story line were just a perfect combination for a small-town romance. I loved the book and would like to thank the author Sara Richardson, Forever (Grand Central) Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. The opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from NetGalley and Forever 4.5 stars

One Night with a Cowboy is book 2 in the Silverado Lake series by Sara Richardson and while a standalone it’s the story of another Harding sibling.

Up next is Wes Harding, professional rodeo clown/protector for the bull riders but lately this career doesn’t feel like its all it can be. When he’s asked to come home to help run the retreat when his sister Jane is put on bed rest in the hospital for the rest of her pregnancy. What he doesn’t expect is Thea Davis and her two children to burrow into his heart...

Thea Davis lost her military husband and runs a Vet support group that goes on a retreat at Jane’s (her college roommate and friend) Silverado Lake Ranch. For Thea this keeps her focused so she doesn’t dwell on her grief and guilt.

With sparks flying between Thea and Wes can they find what is truly missing in their lives, build a relationship to last and become the family they both are looking for? Only time will tell...

True Rating: 4.5 stars

This book was completely adorable! Wes is a cowboy who never seemed ready to settle down. When he runs into a problem with his sister, it is up to him to show a group of families a good time at their family property. He never expected to find a little boy who loved him, and a woman he would be willing to give his heart to.

Thea has been so.focus on her 2 children since her husband's death, she hasn't taken time for herself. When Wes is the one in charge instead of her best friend, she finds herself being drawn towards him, especially after her prickly teenage daughter starts to warm up to the idea of him.

I adore single parent romances already, but there was a lot to love about this one. Ryan, Thea's son, was a show stealer. He was such a great character, and a great device within the plot to have Wes and Thea see different sides of each other.

I can't wait to continue with this series!

One Night with a Cowboy by Sara Richardson is a slow burn romance until it explodes. Weston Harding is home to help out his sister. She is having a difficult pregnancy so he is doing anything he can. Her friend widow Thea Davis comes to the ranch. As well as Thea comes her two children. While Wes and Thea make a good story, it is the building of the relationship between Wes and Thea’s son Ryan that makes it a great one.

There is romance, soul searching, kids getting into situations without thinking of the danger and families being made. One moment One Night with a Cowboy has you fanning yourself then next tugging at your heart.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sara Richardson brings readers back to Silverado Lake with One Night with a Cowboy.

Wes and Thea's story was a sweet read that pulls at the heartstrings. Their relationship build up was so well done. None of their concerns or conflicts felt overdone or unnecessary. They were relatable characters with real problems and worries.

I also liked that at the same Wes was falling for Thea he was also growing to love her children. There is a focus on both Wes and Thea's families and it was nice getting to know Wes's brother August a little bit. I enjoyed every minute spent with these characters and this story.

I received this arc for an honest review.
Wes Harding is a rodeo clown, the one who want the bulls to chase them and not the bull riders. I have always thought those guys were just a little bit crazier than the guys riding them. Here he ends up helping his sister Jane who needs to go to the hospital after complications with her pregnancy. Though he has a huge shot at an upcoming event he steps up for his sister to help out with the event at the ranch.
Thea Davis and her two children are coming to the ranch and she is usually the one with the plans of the event for military families. Though her husband was killed three years ago she still plans these and goes to them. Now though when she finds out that her friend Jane is not going to be there, she is not too happy. She is less happy when she arrives a day early and Wes is having a party at the lake with friends. It becomes worse for her the next morning when she discovers that he has changed her itinerary. the families are happy about the changes so she goes along with them.
The story really picks up when Ryan her son ends up banding with Wes. Since they both lost their fathers and Ryan likes to fish and Wes teaches him and talks to him. This ends up to be another one of her contentions when she finds out that her son is talking to him about his father and not her the mother. There is a lot of push back and forth between the two of them and though like the title they do spend one night together things don’t work out for either of them. Each one has to get past, the past of their own pain in order to move forward. The author has done a good job with all of the characters and with each of the separate relationships that go on. A very good story and very much worth the read.

I loved everything about this book... Wes as a rodeo clown, Thea and her kids, the families at the retreat, and all of the fun activities and adventures that Wes planned. This is a great series, and I can't wait to return to Silverado Lake Ranch!

When I first started this book it felt like I had read it before, which yes I know its new so that's impossible. However after a few pages in, that change and the author did a really great job of taking you on an emotional journey through Thea and Wes' life. I really like both characters equally. I feel like when an author makes the characters relatable and feel like friends you know you are in for a book that will keep your attention. I think one of my favorite lines in the book is "He Lived to spend time with his family." I feel this sums up the book and it shows how powerful a choice can be when you make it. This is some sexual content in this book, Over all I would read this one again it was emotional, but also found myself laughing too. Friendship is the key in the book.

“It’s not what I came here for either, but sometimes you find something when you’re least expecting it.”

What You’ll Find:
✔️Cowboy Romance
✔️Widow
✔️Second Chance
✔️Small Town
✔️Single Mother
✔️Dual POV

One Night With A Cowboy by Sara Richardson is a charming story about handsome cowboy (Wes) and a widowed mother (Thea), coming together to host a veteran charity getaway. Both harbouring grief from their pasts, they don’t expect the connection between them. Wes isn’t looking for roots. And Thea’s focus is on her fragile family. But one kiss leads to so much more.

This was a sweet story of second chances. Their story takes place over a short period of time, but the way the story is told made it feel much longer. The chemistry between them is undeniable but this story was minimal on the steam. It was more about family, and healing. Moving forward. The children were also a big part of the story which I enjoyed. Ryan is such a ham, he will have you smiling, if not laughing out loud.

This is the second book in the Silverado Lake Series, but my first read of this authors. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, but I wouldn’t mind reading the first book now after meeting the characters in this one. This series is a sibling series and I must admit I’m curious about August’s story too and the ‘one that got away’! If a lighter cowboy romance about family is your jam, check this one out!

Thank you to the author and Forever Publishing for the eARC via @netgalley for my completely honest review.

One Night with a Cowboy is the second novel in Sara Richardson's Silverado Lake series, and since I seem to be on a cowboy kick lately, I was eager to read it, and I am very glad I did. It's a sweet, well-written, second chance at love novel and it gets 4 stars from this reader.

Thea is a military widow, and her marriage was a rocky one. Just before her husband left on his next deployment, the last thing she said to him was that she wanted a divorce--words she wished she could take back, since he was killed in action 3 years ago., leaving her a widow with a 13-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son. After seeking some counseling, she's devoted herself to meeting with other military families and discussing the issues they all face, and, once a year, she takes them on a 10-day retreat to the Silverado Lake Ranch, which is where she meets Weston (Wes) Harding, an excellent rodeo bull-fighter, who steps in to lead the retreat in place of his 7 months' pregnant sister, Jane, Thea's former college roommate, who was just rushed to the hospital and who will be unable to lead the guests at this year's retreat.

Wes was always considered the wild, flighty, and irresponsible one in his family. He never thought he could live up to the standards set by his two siblings, and in lieu of a regular job, joined the rodeo and traveled from event to event, becoming well-known for his skill set and only returning to the ranch during the off season, never considering a more traditional and safer profession. He's his own worst critic, and carries a giant load of guilt and regret, blaming himself for not being there when his father died. Since Thea is also plagued with guilt for her last words to her husband, these two have more in common than they first realize, as well as sharing a mutual attraction to one another.

Told in dual narration, a literary device I love, we readers get the inside scoop on what these two engaging and troubled characters are thinking and feeling. We also get to see how Thea's son, Ryan, latches onto to Wes almost immediately, and it's not surprising to realize that he's been missing a father figure in his life, something Thea notices from the start. She too is attracted to the handsome and charming Wes, but in her 3 years as a widow, hasn't even considered dating, let alone another relationship.

This novel is deeply emotional and written with great sensitivity. At its heart, this is a novel of love and loss, guilt and redemption, hurt and healing, and I'm happy to recommend it.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of the novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Hopeful, emotional, and charming!

One Night with a Cowboy is a delightfully heartwarming tale that sweeps you away to the beautiful mountains of Colorado and into the lives of Wes Harding, the rugged, hardworking bullfighter, and Thea Davies, the military widow and mother of two as they both learn together how to heal and move on from the guilt, grief, and regrets they harbour over their individual losses.

The writing is smooth and fluid. The characters are multi-layered, genuine, and considerate. And the plot is a sweet, engaging mix of tender moments, self-discovery, temptation, friendship, family, happiness, chemistry, and love.

One Night with a Cowboy is another adorable, addictive, compassionate addition to the Silverado Lake series by Richardson, and as always, after I finish any of her books, I’m already looking forward to reading whatever she publishes next.

Terrific love story!

Wes and Thea barely know each other, connected only through his sister, Jane, who is her friend from college. Now Jane is indisposed and needs Wes to take a break from his rodeo career to oversee the family resort during Thea's annual vacation with her fellow military families.

Thea, widowed three years ago, only knows Wes as the good-time party guy she first met more than a decade before. Wes, however, is still shaken by his father's death and is trying to find his purpose again.

I loved the instant chemistry these two had, and I especially loved Wes with her children, Liv and Ryan. The way that he was able to sort through his feelings about his dad as he interacted with the kids at the resort was exquisitely written, compelling and insightful on every level.

The author doesn't take any shortcuts here, with each relationship being forged in fire and tested by real-life situations. Wes and Thea's HEA was sublime, refreshingly original and heartwarming. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Love is a journey!

What happens when you take a rodeo clown that is always traveling to the next rodeo to protect the bull riders and a widowed social worker with two children?

Weston Harding didn’t know what he was getting into when he volunteered to help with the next retreat for veterans after his sister went into premature labor. Wes never thought that he would ever settle down but after meeting Thea Davis and her children makes him realize there is more.

Wes falling in love with Thea and her kids is a feel-good romance that makes the reader want Wes and Thea to get their happy ever after. I hope August gets his story next!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and Grand Central. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m beginning to see a pattern with Sara Richardson’s books. No matter how busy I am, I seem to find a way to read them in one day. Although I’m a somewhat fast reader, I don’t have to time to just sit and read as often as I’d like. With this author’s books, I tend to let things slide in the real world in order to keep returning to the book world.

My husband was military the first 10 years of our marriage and Ms. Richardson really gets the feel right. Many people understand the hardship military families go through during deployments. Not everyone really understands that often there are bigger issues when the service member comes home, the family re-learning who they all are. I appreciate the care given to some of these issues.

Wes and Thea have instant and amazing chemistry. And even better, Wes has such a natural rapport with Thea’s kids. He never tries stepping into their father’s shoes, but Ryan and Liv both really need the steady, loving, and calm presence he brings to their lives.

There are events in this story where a lot of authors would have had Thea react in a more stereotypical way than she does in this book. I love that the author thought outside the box of a+b=c when it comes to moms, kids, and mom’s reactions to the mistakes kids make. Things that could have been a catalyst for strife between Thea and Wes instead became Wes learning to take a look at his past from a different angle.

As much as I love this author’s stories, I must remember to start the next book I get from her on a day I have nothing else planned.
