Thanks NetGalley and Random House Children’s for the eARC.

Jack and his little sister Annie are on their way home from school when they come across a treehouse filled with books. After making a wish, they are transported to another time - with dinosaurs! They set off on a fun adventure filled with dinos.

I love this adaptation of the Magic Treehouse! This was such a fun read with great pictures. So many of my students love the Magic Treehouse series - I check it out daily. I can’t wait to add this entire graphic series to my library, they will be thrilled! This is such a great graphic novel for younger students.

I think that kids will love this graphic novel. The original Magic Tree House books are so popular that I think these book will be just as popular. The art in it was pretty and the story was easy to follow.

This was my favorite book series growing up, and this graphic novel adaptation is perfect! The art captures the story so well, and I was right there with Annie wanting to pet all the dinosaurs. I'm really looking forward to more adaptations of this series.

Dinosaurs Before Dark Graphic Novel is a stunning adaptation of one of the world's best chapter book series! I'm so happy to see such a beautiful adaptation and I can't wait to read the next one. Recommended for all library collections. It WILL be popular.

What a fun graphic novel for the younger set! Jack and Annie, who are brother and sister, come across a treehouse filled with books. What more could you ask for, right?! It just so happens that magical things happen with the books contained within this treehouse. Jack and Annie are whisked away on a wonderful adventure. Kids will really enjoy this graphic novel. It is a fun read with colorful, fun graphics and a great storyline. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book. It brings back great memories of the books and the series.

This is a great addition to the graphic novel genre for 1st - 3rd grade readers. The illustrations are full color and engaging. Annie seems to be a 6 year old but for some reason Jack looks more like 10/11 to me than 8.5. I like the lower levels of text to keep the reading level equivalent to the chapter books. I definitely feel this is a must add for any elementary library or teacher classroom. Great for emerging readers as well.

This graphic novel adaptation of Mary Pope Osborne’s first installment in her immensely popular Magic Treehouse series is stunning. The illustrations by Kelly and Nichole Matthews is bright and beautiful and just exactly perfect for drawing younger readers into the tale of brother and sister Jack and Annie and their discovery of a book-filled treehouse that can take them anywhere, both in time and geographically. What a terrific way to help 1st-3rd grade students discover the visual delight of graphic novels and then segue into the more developed stories in traditional format. Highly recommended for libraries serving the target age group and for those who want to quickly revisit the Magic Treehouse world in a whole new way.

My grandson loves The Magic Treehouse series, he pretends to be Jack and wants a treehouse in his backyard. We started with the audiobooks and follow along in the chapter books. He enjoys his illustrated, hardback copy of Dinosaurs Before Dark so I was curious to see if the graphic novel would be different. He was riveted by the story's simple dialog and detailed pictures. I will definitely get him the next in the series. A big hit for Magic Treehouse lovers and a great introduction to the series.

"Dinosaurs Before Dark" is a graphic novel adaption of the classic children's series, The Magic TreeHouse! The artwork is beautiful, but the pacing of the comic adaption could use some work. The pacing and plot development feels very clunky, and therefore I would only recommend it to younger children and not tweens or teens. Absolutely gorgeous art work though!

Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope Osborne is a familiar story to a lot of people (the first book in the Magic Treehouse book series), but this time it gets a fun overhaul in a graphic novel format. The pictures were vibrant and engaging, the story more or less the same, and i'm sure it will bring more fans to the already popular series.

What a fun way to reintroduce kids to a series that, at this point, seems intimidating to even start. I loved this read, quick and still fun just like originals. The art in this is so cute too!

I received an ARC of Dinosaurs Before Dark, which is the first Magic Tree House book in graphic novel format, thanks to the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I grew up reading Magic Tree House books. I started with book 17, Tonight on the Titanic (yes, I know that is very far from book one), and was hooked. If you are unaware of what this series is, first, I apologize for your child self, and, second, they are still worth reading! Each book contains an adventure where Jack and Annie travel in time and place in a magic tree house, which is filled with books of where they can (and most likely will) go. Their first adventure takes them 65 million years into the past where they get to experience dinosaur's first hand.

Jack is the cautious and studious older brother while Annie is the hyperactive and impulsive younger sister. Together they learn about the world and history, saving people and animals as they go. From adventure one, they are addicted and are excited to go on the next one with knights!

The graphic novel did a wonderful job at translating the book into a graphic novel format. I love the artwork and it read like a movie. While the original books are about 100 pages with pictures throughout, this is a much faster read with beautiful colored images. My daughter loved Magic Tree House but as she got older the less she wanted to read chapter books and the more she got into graphic novels (she's 8). This will definitely get her back to exploring history in a fun way!

I've got readers all lined up and excited about this new way to dive into magic treehouse. Great for new or current series readers. The kids who have read it already LOVED seeing the pages with the books in the treehouse and connecting them to the stories they had read. Annie and Jack's personalities show clearly in this new format and I look forward to seeing MTH scoop up a bunch of new readers with this new offering.

Thanks to NetGalley & Random House Children's for the early copy in exchange for an honest review.

A retelling of the classic series, this follows the first book all about dinosaurs! Jack and Annie get sent back in time thanks to...a magic tree house that they discovered.

I really LOVED the art style in this book. It was so soft and pleasant to look at, plus the dinosaurs were both cuddly but realistic! Also, Pennsylvania is at least accurate with its unlimited trees, so props to the artists for that, ha.

I do wish the book was more informative like the originals, but I can see that infodumps would be hard to convey in a graphic novel. It's still a great start to a series and I hope it rekindles children's love for the series!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House Children's for a digital galley of this book in exchange for an honest review. As always, all opinions are entirely my own. I remember reading the original Magic Tree House books when I was younger and loving them. When I saw this on Net Galley I thought it would be a fun nostalgic read. However, I think that the original stories are still my favorite. This graphic novel was cute, had good art, and mostly followed the storylines of the original book. However, I felt that it left a lot of things out and could be a bit longer. I still think it is great they are making new books in the Magic Tree House world for the next generation of readers.

I read this graphic novel with my 8 year old daughter and it was the perfect age for her to read. The story and illustrations were age appropriate and not too scary. The pace held her attention but wasn't so easy that she was bored.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion.

I have never read the original series. However, I love the graphic novel adaptation, and now I understand the popularity of the series. The story combines fantasy, adventure, and education. I was captivated by the story, and I also learned a few things. This type of book is perfect for the graphic novel format. The fast pacing makes this a great option for reluctant readers. My only gripe would be the illustrations. Though the artwork stays true to the original work's cover art, I would have liked a more modern look. I still look forward to reading the next book.

This graphic novel is a super cute and vivid take into the beloved Magic Tree House series. I love that the artwork matches the original covers but also helps bring the adventure to life, especially with all those dinosaurs! (I also love that it gives a glimpse of what happens when they wish on a book! So cool!)

Highly recommend to young readers who either prefer pictures to words or want to experience the story in a different kind of format.

This was definitely really fun, but I didn't love it in graphic novel form as much as book form. It'll be a good way to introduce kids to this series, though!
