A wonderful book to teach young kids math tricks. Mathematics means different thing to different people. It is loved by many and many more fear it. But it can be simplified if learnt in a fun way. A wonderful book for children.

This is a great way to help children reinforce their math skills with cool games. The book is divided into 5 chapters. Geared toward children 8 and older. Kids won't even realize they may be learning a new skill. The illustrations are well drawn and pertinent to the problem.

This is a fun book for kids that will have them playing with math concepts. I'm not sure I'd call them tricks as much as fun little exercises or brain teasers. Kids are likely to enjoy it. Illustrations add to the appeal.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

These we're some cool things to do with math that could make it more fun for kids. Going to be using some tricks with my son.

As a math teacher I had to read this one! I am a math coach at a STEM middle school where we focus on science and math and how to make it all more meaningful and engaging.

This is definitely in book that I could see being used at our school. I found the illustrations to be great. The tricks were definitely engaging and easy to understand. This is definitely perfect for middle school and even elementary kids. I would buy this for my own kids.

So often math is seen as a boring subject, and I really want kids to interact more with math like this book demonstrates. I loved the different types of questions and ideas in this book. I quite enjoy these math tricks when I was a kid myself, but grew up not liking "school-math", so this reminded me of how fun math can be!

Intriguing!

Great collection of tricks/ games to change up the regular math routine.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

One of the best, the simplest, the most understandable explanations of a maths concept I have ever seen! This book explains how to find the volume of a 3D shape with the story of Archimedes and his bath, in the most wonderful way. It also talks about tessellations and fractal trees in ways that even Mum and Dad will understand them.

Do yourself and your kids a favour and pick up this book. Read it first (then you will sound really smart). Read it with your children and then play and have fun together.

This book is not just about numbers, it’s about shapes, patterns and sequences, mind-boggling tricks, magical mathematics, curiouser and curiouser things and ways to fool your friends. It is written for children and to children. This gives them the opportunity to use this book independently if they are so inclined.

- The blurb from the publisher, as they do it best -
This is no ordinary maths book. It's an incredible compendium of mind-blowing facts; tricks that will amaze friends and family; and fun, interactive activities.
Young readers will love...
• Using maths to create uncrackable codes.
• Exploring weird numerical patterns. (Did you know that 11111111 x 11111111 = 123456787654321?)
• Discovering the secrets of mathematical mind-reading.
Rediscover subjects such as geometry, statistics, and measurement in a completely new light. Whoever knew that maths could be this much fun?
With a glossary of key mathematical terms included, this brain-boosting book is perfect for readers aged 8+.

As a qualified Primary School Teacher, I highly recommend this book.

Clever and engaging with some cool “ tricks of the trade”. Maths is so different now I was intrigued to see and learn how much the whole patterns and shapes concept seems much more important now or at least how much better the connection to these and numbers is relevant.

Looking for a cool book that includes math, learning and interesting facts? Then this STEM book is an awesome pick for you! Honestly, I wish I had books that made math and science fun back when I was a kid. This book would have fit the bill.

The cool tricks in this book can be easily missed by an untrained eye, but don't worry! This book teaches you some cool tricks now how to use them. The mysterious missing square, don't cover your tracks and other tricks are typical fun ones we see pop up on social media.

Four out of five stars! What a gem! I had fun reading this one!

Thank you to NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

The book contains some great tricks and maths problem solving for children aged 10 and upwards.
You could possibly adapt the tricks for younger children but maybe some of the 'coolness' would be lost in translation.
Its well set out and gives clear instructions - well pitched at secondary school age.

I got this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is full of tricks to incorporate into the classroom. My favorite chapter was the shapes chapter. I always struggle with making units on shapes engaging, but now have plenty of new ways to make the unit exciting. This book allows children to explore the "why" behind math and discover a passion for math.

This is a superb little book, as someone who struggles with maths due to dyscalculia, I loved this. How bizarre is that? I've hated maths for years as I've struggled so much but we went through this one together, fears aside and there was such a diverse range in this book, and for once it wasn't over explained or complicated. This is a really great way to maths fun and made it a subject to embrace!

The illustrations and break up from text make this a really playful and easy book to connect with! Well done to Anna Claybourne, anyone who can me react this way to maths really deserves a pat on the back!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own

This book is brilliant. It's full of fun and interesting activities and ideas for exploring maths. I really like how the maths behind the activities is explained, in a clear way but without being oversimplified. The children at school will really enjoy these activities and so will the staff!

This book was so cool! My son, who really is not crazy about math, has found these tricks really neat and it has helped him become more excited to work on his math work.

Must admit: this is very clear and well done! I'm studying to become a math teacher and I found it very clear. The information is given in a playful way. Children can explore the math tricks themselves and learn more about it all. Also loved the artwork. It's not bombastic but subtle and ideal for kids. It isn't a distraction while reading the book.

I requested this book for my daughter who at the moment is maths mad.
Its a fun book with more puzzles and tricks rather than just a basic maths book with sums.
It's fun and interesting, I also found it interesting but my daughter thought is was great and couldn't wait to show her teacher some of what she had learnt.
Its more a book of showing you how it's done rather than you figuring out how it's done.
This book really did engage my daughter, anything that can make learning fun is a winner for me and she spent quite a lot of time reading through this book and learning things.

As a math teacher, even I didn't know some of these tricks. I am so excited to add this to my list of academic books available to my peers! I also will be sending one to my sister once it is available for purchase. She is also a teacher.
