A thought look at conservation work in the modern era and ways we can combat it. I am not the target audience because of my education, but I would push it on folks looking to learn who don't have me experiences.

We Alone is a huge eye opener of a book which takes on the Herculean task of saving the world. Written both for the scientifically astute and the barely literate, We Alone takes the time to explain, document and propose solutions to the problem of how to save us from ourselves and in so doing repair damage done and protect what is left. Well padded with scientists and conferences of world wide importance, We Alone intersperses more readable accounts which stem from the author's homeland experiences in Africa and how those experiences have led him to this study of the fate of the earth. Both in terms of what has been done since the beginning of time and what can be done now and in the future, We Alone sounds the alarm and points out the exits and extinguishers to all.

An important book.
A book that holds a lot of beauty.
A book that made me think, smile, and sparked hope I had thought lost, hope for a better tomorrow and humans prioritizing reforestation and much-needed conservation.
THANK YOU.

Conservation

This is a book written about man's conquering the environment. How our industries and lifestyle have polluted our air and water.

It is a wake up that each individual must be responsible to our natural resources and do what we can to save them.

It did read a little like a textbook. It was interesting in spots, and I believe the author truly believes what he has written.

I can't say I understand all of it, nor can I say I agree with everything written. I do believe in doing what we can to conserve our earth.

I think it is good to look at all views of a subject and this is a good book for the view of the environmentalist.

Thanks to David Western, University Press, and NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of the book for an honest review.

Not for me, a drag to get through. I enjoy the academic-aspects but the topic might not have been directed to me as an audience because I was struggling to care. I dont think I would recommend this honestly.
