I loved this book and the chance to share it with my children. The illustrations were great and the content was perfect for conversation starting with my kids.

I really didn't like this book. I think the questions were good, but the answers were really straightforward and didn't give the kids space to wonder or even be curious.

This is a book for teens, most likely. It explores the multitude questions kids have about the Bible. How come there is God in Three Persons? All those "If God is love, why would He do (insert something bad here)?' questions. Or even questions where Christians, urged to do nice things, yet somehow work as something like lawmakers who caught people.

So very interesting for kids who are curious about the Bible and God.

I didn't finish reading this as I don't like that it isn't clear what they are teaching, or rather that they are trying to please different people who hold different beliefs but they don't say what they think.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

The author attempts to explain creation in a simplified manner by saying that God created the world in 6 days. It would be helpful to see some pictures of habitats for animals being created with God and Adam naming the animals to help the concept become more real.
There are some easy misspellings that need to be corrected such as "innite" (infinite), p.4.
On p. 5 "rst" (first) and "ey" (they), the explanation in the first paragraph is the most common one - kids may have difficulty with the explanations in the last 2 paragraphs. I enjoyed the painting and the explanation of God creating man from dust on page 6.
The map and the explanation of where the Garden of Eden could be are very helpful and help to explain the Bible in a literal, believable way.
It was helpful to explain that in Adam's time, brothers and sisters could marry, but not after that time period.
The stories and explanations of who Abraham, Isaac and Joseph were are easy to understand and concise.
The explanations for Moses, the Exodus and Leviticus are all age - appropriate and easy to understand.
The frequent spelling errors need to be corrected and reviewed.
The other explanations for Biblical people and events make sense and they cover the topics well.

This colorful children's books is filled with colorful stock photos as it aims to answer their questions about God. In most places, it gives standard literal bible answers to questions. In places, it tries to please all kinds of Christians. For instance, it says some people believe various things about how people were created, whether it was Adam and then Eve from Adam's rib in a day or that time was symbolic and it took a long time and that some Christians believe God created evolution. In most cases, it just answers questions with yes and gives you some bible verses. For instance, did people really live to be 900+ years old in the old days? It just says, "Yes, they did" and then gives examples of people in the bible who were said to be that old. It says that this might be because sin has damaged our DNA and that's why we can't live to be much over a hundred now. It also says that brothers and sisters could marry in Cain's day (it says Cain's sisters weren't mentioned in the bible because usually only boys were recorded, so his wife was one of his sisters) and that was okay because sin hadn't damaged our DNA yet. ??? In other areas it just didn't answer questions very well in my opinion, like how two of all animals fit on the ark (you didn't need sea creatures, some are very small, and you didn't need one of each breed of things like dogs). That doesn't even come close to answering most questions I have about the logistics of the ark. It also criticizes Jewish people throughout, like talking about how much the Israelites complained and failed God by not trusting him enough and all of their character flaws.

The stock photographs and artwork throughout are kind of successful at times and odd at others. In places there are historic paintings depicting bible scenes, but in other places there's a giant grinning blond woman with her hand to her ear, a sleeping puppy, a construction cone and an angry young Asian woman shouting into a bullhorn, among other images.

For me, it was an okay book, but not one that I particularly liked or would recommend. Others might appreciate it a lot more.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
