I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a great fantasy novel and still able to do it's own thing. The characters were great and I enjoyed the world.

A book with very strong character development, if you like that sort of thing then you'll enjoy this.

some formatting was a bit poor but overall a fairly enjoyable read

Review in 10 words: A fantasy epic. Magical with an abundance of character development.

Synopsis: Aren is gifted with the ability to hone the powers of magic. His ultimate goal in life is to become a Mage. The story follows Aren on his quest to master the powers of magic (aided by my favourite character; Gilandor). Aren's journey leads him to meet the would be King; Elirae.

I enjoyed this book mostly for its character development. I loved the story the author painted and felt like Aren grew incredibly throughout the novel. It gave me very strong 'Lord of the Rings' vibes in relation to the themes of journey and personal growth- This book would be perfect for people who love a good, epic fantasy tale and enjoy the brotherhood so often associated with wizardry/magic.

I did find some of the dialogue was excessive and difficult to follow at times. The formatting of speech paragraphs attributed to this.

The author successfully built a world that I believed and I could sense myself in as I was reading.
