It will have you laughing so hard it makes your stomach hurt. I highly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This ebook is in stores for $3.99 (GBP).

Well, the title isn't wrong.

Though that may seem a bit snide, I appreciate that. I think we, as teachers, often do a disservice to poetry when it's only used seriously. There are some great mentor texts in here for teaching poetry as an act of play.

There is ‘good bad’ poetry, there is McGonagall, there is The Stuffed Owl: An Anthology of Bad Verse, and there is this. I’m sincerely hoping that this will be the worst book I read in 2021 and that I will be more discerning in future. I’m currently reading Dante’s Divine Comedy and, in need of some light relief (and who wouldn’t be?!), I requested a review copy of this thinking it would be entertaining. It isn’t. I found it irritatingly awful and pointless. Others appear to find this collection clever and funny and that is fine. I respect their opinions. Differences in humour make the world more interesting. It is, however, absolutely not for me!!

With thanks to NetGalley and Matador for a review copy.

I am starting to like poetry! Like it said, these poets do not necessarily make a lot of sense, but they are well entertaining. The only issue I am having, though: "Deutschland, Deutschland ueber alles"?
Okay, I get it, Germans are Nazi. Sooooo funny. Not.
Matter of fact, that specific part of the National Anthym has been forbidden after WW II, but why bother to educate yourself when writing, right?

I received a free ARC by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This poems were not for me. I didn't found them funny at all.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me this e-book copy.

Amusing collection of silly poems about animals, Covid and many more. The rhyming style and plays on words are reminiscent of Shel Silverstein. Enjoyable poems for adults and kids alike!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the gifted copy. All thoughts are completely my own.

I read Stupid Poems 15 last December, so when I clued into what day it was I went looking for the next installment.

These poems are definitely stupid and silly. They are also exactly what some of us need right now.

I rolled my eyes, laughed, even shook my head. Which is great because I'm sure that's meant to be the purpose.

I look forward to reading next years edition ;-).

This book lives up to its name in the best possible way. Armadillos playing pianos, Covid related jokes and hand washing are just a couple of the things that had me laughing out loud. Much needed silliness in this time.

There’s a lot to be said for honest advertising. And this series of books does it and delivers on the titular promise. I’m not really into poetry and definitely not into stupidity, but did read book fifteen of these and was mildly entertained so I figured why not check out 16. These are after all readily available on Netgalley and take almost no time at all to read, this one was maybe 15 minutes. Plus I somehow enjoy the idea of some old British foggy somewhere coming up with these just for the sheer love of the game, it seems. Some of the volumes have no reviews or ratings at all. And this one I’m the first to rate and review, so much so I even had to create a GR listing for it.
So anyway, this volume isn’t as timely as the last one, nothing political at all, just a bunch of silliness. The best one was a menu at a cannibal restaurant. The one with riddles was cute too.
So yeah, a very slight diversion between the books. Not much ventured, not much gained.
And now a guilty pleasure…I do apologize, but it’s compulsive…

Number sixteen,
much like previous numbers,
Won’t give you great joy,
Or immediate slumber.
It’s free and it’s quick
and make cause mild amusement
so that’s my opinion,
you’re welcome to use it.

Thanks Netgalley.
