Wow. This book moves at the rate of a speeding train. Told from multiple points of view and ending each chapter with a bit of a cliffhanger, Gibney grips the reader with suspense wondering when everyone's worlds are going to collide.

With a plot established on strong characters and authentic police procedure, and a very satisfying conclusion, this a must-read for crime fiction fans.

I saved this one especially for the holidays because a new Lottie Parker book is always a treat. This one is no exception. The plot is interesting: women are being poisoned and it takes a while before you get any clarity on what is actually happening and why. The strength of this series remains its characters and their relationships. Lottie is getting remarried but even this cannot happen without complications. Very enjoyable.

Copy kindly received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I found this to be a really interesting read with lots of twists and turns. This kept me guessing about who the criminal really was. I found the characters to be interesting and I really enjoyed this book. Would recommend.

The newest addition to the Lottie Parker series and it’s up there with the best in the series.

Young women are being poisoned in the town of Ragmullin and Lottie is on the case. There are various leads but none of them seem to be connected. Can Lottie figure out a motive that will ultimately lead her to the killer and stop the murders?
We also find here more or less on the eve of her wedding. Her plans are somewhat scuppered and she finds it hard to concentrate on it as the murders mount as well as the suspects and she tries to unravel the intricate web of clues.

As said, this is a great addition to the series. There’s a huge cast of characters and suspects but they are all very well written and not at all hard to keep track of. The book really zips along despite being around 500 pages long. It didn’t feel like any filler at all as this complicated story is told and fleshed out. There’s some lovely descriptive passages that seem to have found their way into Gibneys writing and they really help to add a sense of atmosphere.

This could possibly work as a stand alone but is probably better read as part of a series. Lottie Parker is a fantastic character, smart and not afraid to speak her mind or break the rules, she really does carry all the books on her shoulders.

This series is evolving nicely and if anything getting stronger. This is one of my favourites in the series and I’d highly recommend it.

Many thanks to Netgalley for an ARC.

Lottie never fails me! She is such a good and trusted friend. Although, she can be quite annoying at times, you need a lot of patience if you want to be close to her, and at other times you just want to run and leave that complete mess. When it's time for her wedding, things are not exactly calming down. There is a fresh case on the table. Women around town are found dead. Murdered. The team does not seem to get anywhere with the case.

A solid Lottie book in this excellent series! If you like small towns and big crimes, you should read this series! Even though Lottie can be one of the most frustrating people on the planet, you can't help but love her. Her determination is admirable. She's like an angry terrier when she is on a case. Nothing will stop her from solving the case. Not even her own wedding.

Mesmerizing! Utterly thrilling! Unputdownable! One of the best series I have ever read. It seems like nothing can stop Patricia Gibney. Her writing is excellent. The story flows like a river with no dams, but many waterfalls, and several dangerous currents. Highly recommended!

A new book in the Lottie Parker series is as much about catching up with Lottie, Boyd and the gang as it is about the crime solving. This is probably not a good standalone, but a series better read in order.
Young women are being poisoned and Lottie is clueless as to why. And there are multiple connections, so it’s not clear cut which ones count. We are introduced to quite a few characters that could be the culprits.
Lottie is an intelligent investigator who doesn’t suffer fools gladly. “Selective amnesia is common among murder suspects...do you know that?”
The story moves along at a brisk clip. In addition to the murders, Lottie is just days away from her wedding and there are hiccups with that planning as well. I really enjoy this series and this book is a worthy addition. I highly recommend it for those that enjoy police procedurals with strong characters.
I know it’s the current thing to use “they” even for a singular individual, but I still found it mildly disconcerting.
My thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book.

Silent Voices by Patricia Gibney is another suspenseful thriller with Detective Lottie Parker. Silent Voices started with two mysteries! The opening chapter of the book is set nine years earlier when a young boy is pushed into an abandoned quarry as he is walking home alone at night. Then we fast forward to the current day.
This is the anticipated ninth in the series and it is Lottie's wedding day with Detective Mark Boyd. But oh dear, it is time for the ceremony and the groom is missing. Wait, let's go back to the previous Sunday.
Three women are murdered by poisoning in Ragmullin within days of each other. The women are alone when they die, and no one has been seen entering their homes. What could be the link between these women that would be the clue to the reason for their deaths?
There are a lot of characters in this story. Lottie is going in circles trying to find any information which will give her a reason for the murders and lead her to a suspect. The story of Maddy is also a sad one and I didn't understand how she could be linked to the murdered women until the ending. Even if you think you know who the killer is, the story will keep the reader guessing and rereading some scenes to find the clues!

Silent voices by Patricia Gibney is the ninth book in the Lottie Parker series and it’s another thrilling episode in the series.
It’s days away from Lottie and Boyd tying the knot. When Lottie is called to investigate the murder of Rachel Mullen who was found murdered by her twin sister Beth. Rachel was just starting her own cosmetics business. She was found murdered with her face in so much pain. She has been poisoned. And then a few days later another body has been found with the same description. Why have these people been murdered and what links them both together?
As usual Lottie’s investigations don’t always go to plan and her wedding plans too and her boss breathing down her neck. She has her hands full and trying to figure it out before her wedding day. But that doesn’t deter her to get things done. This another exciting episode in the series and I think is her best one yet. This is fast paced story and a lot going on, which kept me reading into the night but I loved it, especially the explosive ending, Five stars from me.

Finally, Detective Lottie Parker seems to be getting her life back together - in a few days, she'll marry police colleague Mark Boyd. Her kids like him. He likes them. He's recovered well from a recent bout with leukemia. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, if you've been reading this series, you already know something will. And it does - starting with the grotesque murder of a young woman whose body is found by her twin sister. That's followed in short order by another murder with the same M.O., making Parker's boss unhappy at the investigative team's lack of progress (and because someone in the department snitched about the corners she's been known to cut, Parker is already on her boss's bad side). Meanwhile, Boyd befriends a teenage girl whose life is, shall we say, less than pleasant - so he goes out of his way to help.

Clues lead to a restaurant-opening bash the night before the first victim was found, but at first there seems to be no connection between the party and the second murder. Then a third body turns up - you guessed it, same M.O. - leading to more digging that not only unearths links that go back to years-earlier events, but threatens not only Parker and Boyd's nuptials, but their very lives as they finally begin to connect the dots.

Overall, this is a fast-paced thriller that kept me turning the pages right to the end. Thanks to the publisher, via NetGalley, for allowing me to read and review a pre-release copy.

Silent Voices is the 9th novel in the fabulous Lottie Parker series that grabs you from the get-go and never lets up.

For once, everything looks rosy for Lottie with the wedding to Boyd imminent but things are never that simple and the gruesome death of Rachel Mullen is just the start of an investigation that will see the body count rise and past events come back to haunt.

Once again Patricia Gibney has brought Lottie Parker, a favourite detective of mine, back into the action. Love that we see all sides to Lottie and get more insights into her hectic home life and see the interactions, relationships and dynamics within her team too.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC for my honest review.
Can't wait to catch up with Lottie and the team again in the future.

Loved it - comes highly recommended and deserves all of its 5 stars.

Detective Lottie Parker is due to get married but when Beth Mullen returns home to find her twin Rachel dead Lottie has to find out what has happened. Then a young doctor is found dead. Now its a race against time to find a killer, not to mention Lottie’s wedding!

Having realised that this is number 9 in a series it became clear why I had such trouble getting to know the main characters. But this did not stop me enjoying a well formed plot.
I became immersed in the Irish countryside and wanted some of the characters to enhance that feeling, however some of the characters behaviour was somewhat overplayed.
I did guess what was going on but still enjoyed this book
If you are a follower of Detective Lottie Parker you will love this book

I loved this novel! It was complicated and suspenseful, everything I want in a good mystery. Lottie is one of my favourite characters, she has shown so much personal growth since the first book in the series. Her police work might be a bit on the edge but she always catches the killer with the help of her team.

This is another cleverly written book about Detective Lottie Parker. As in the previous books in the series Lotties case goes sideways and she’s scrambling to solve her case. I love Lottie, Boyd, her family and her team. No one is perfect, in fact everyone has some sort of issue. It’s realistic and relatable. The murders are always interesting. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and was up in the wee hours of this morning reading this book. It was a wonderful read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Another excellent instalment in a splendid series. Well written, intriguingly plotted and with believable characters, Silent Voices is set against Lottie's impending nuptials, and nothing runs smoothly! My only slight reservation is that the number of characters involved seems somewhat excessive.

Another fantastic book in the Lottie Parker series. It may be book 9 but it’s still as good as book 1. I love how Lottie is finally getting her life back on track with the wedding date set but with more murders to solve will they actually make it to the altar. I was gripped from the first page as usual and couldn’t wait to find out who the killer was but also didn’t want it to end. I just hope we don’t have to wait too long for book 10. I highly recommend this book/series and author.

Just finished this book. To say I am buzzing after reading it is not a lie. Having read the other books in this series I'm delighted to say it didn't disappoint me. At this stage I feel that the main characters in the book are my friends. Super plot. So many twists and turns from start to finish. I thought i had it solved but no there was more. Can't wait for book 10.

Silent Voices, the 9th book in the DI Lottie Parker series has me asking how I have managed missed out on this brilliant series? This is my first time reading a book by Patricia Gibney and I clearly have some catching up to do. I simply have to get my hand on the previous eight books in the series….. Can someone please add them to my Christmas Wishlist!
A small-town crime story about family, friendship and secrets from the past forcing their way back to the present one dead body at a time. Silent Voices is a brilliantly written thriller that will keep you turning the pages. I found myself so engrossed in this story I forgot to charge my tablet and was forced to stop reading when the battery died….. needless to say, I was extremely annoyed with myself.
I have read books by other Irish authors that were a little difficult to follow due to the use of Irish lingo, Patricia Gibney does not do any of that. Making her writing easy to read and understand. I was drawn into the story quickly and never felt eager to reach the last page. Even though I flew through this book in only three days.
When the body of twenty-five-year-old Rachel Mullen is found, Detective Lottie Parker is drawn into an investigation that leads to more questions than answers. Body after body appears, with little clues and not much to work with, DI Lottie Parker is racing against time to solve the crimes before her wedding which is only days away. Everyone one involved appears to be guilty and no-one is being completely truthful. Will she track the murderer in time?
As mentioned, I am new to the series and Patricia Gibney. This book quickly drew me deep into the world of DI Lottie Parker and I cannot wait to get my hands on the previous books in this series. I loved the setting and found myself submerged in the town of Ragmullin, picturing the people and the town as I turned each page. This story helped me escape reality. I absolutely loved it!
The characters in Silent Voices are a mixed bag of the rich upper class and the poorest of the poor all colorfully drawn and masterfully brought together. I adored Maddy, the poor girl who has struggled through every step of her young life and still managed to maintain her sense of self. Looking after not only herself but also her little, two-year-old nephew, Trey.
There is nothing about this book not to love! I am completely hooked and cannot wait to get my hand on more of Patricia Gibney’s books.
If crime fiction is something you enjoy, then Silent Voices will be right up your alley. Go ahead, give it a try. This book has you suspecting just about everyone and keep you guessing right to the end!
In case I have not been clear above, yes, I recommend this book – it is a brilliant read!

Here we are at book 9 and I still look forward to these books.

Detective Lottie Parker is finally moving on in her personal life, but before everything comes together there's a new murder to solve. And then another. Young women are being killed in an excruciating manner. Are they connected? And what connects them? I enjoy Lottie and I'm glad that Boyd is back by her side. Lottie is starting to grow more for which I'm pleased about. I liked the mystery even though it wasn't the best out of the series. I look forward to more investigations.

Another Lottie Parker book from Patricia Gibney and another great read. Number 9 in the series and I think maybe one of the best yet. Lottie and Boyd are finally going to settle down and get married but you just know it won’t be easy. A great plot, delving into just how far reaching jealously, guilt and betrayal can effect generations. Horrendous deaths, with bodies piling up and the clock ticking on the nuptials, make for a rollercoaster of a read. I love this series, the subplot and the characters who are all beautifully flawed and real.
