This author is new to me and this is the first in a new series. It's a heck of a thing when you find your aunt's nemesis dead on the beach and wind up being the prime suspect! Bee product shop owners do not poison anyone with one of their own products (especially when there is no motive). As if! The characters are engaging, the sleuthing is twisty, the herrings are red and plentiful, and there is quite a bit of bee information. Great read!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensingtospn Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

I was looking for a light, easy read to relax on a snow day and ended up finishing this book the same day. This is the first book of CoCo's that I have read, and she sets up the characters, plot, and setting quite nicely. It's a well written cozy mystery, and I'd say the best that I've read thus far. I'm looking forward to more of Wren's adventures in the future!

In this, the first in the series, we meet Wren Johnson, who owns a bee-focused shop in Oregon. She sells lip balm, candles, candy – all containing bee-produced items. When walking her Havanna Brown cat, Everett, along the beach, Wren finds a dead body who just happens to be holding one of her lip balms that turns out to be the murder weapon. Wren needs to clear her name, and the name of her aunt, before she ends up in the slammer.

I was a little disappointed in this book. I had really enjoyed Hannah Reed’s Queen Bee mysteries (and plan on adding my own bees this year!) so was excited to give this series a go. The book was mildly entertaining, but didn’t really grab the reader, and the characters were personable, but not anyone you wanted to become best friends with. All in all, a perfectly fine read, not a great start to a new series. I won a preview copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher.

A very cute and cozy mystery! Can't wait to read book 2 and visit with Wren again. Thankful to NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

I'd like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this!

I love mysteries and I love bees so I was very excited to read this. The main character, Wren, has a shop called Let It Bee where she sells handmade lip balms, lotions, candles, and other bee related items. She even has a beehive built into the wall. I liked the bee facts and the recipes before each chapter.

There was a lot of action so never a dull moment. Some of the side characters were interesting including Everett the cat. I didn't really care for the cop. He didn't really work as a love interest and mostly seemed suspicious. He also didn't seem to follow proper police procedures at times.

I was hoping for a better twist with the killer but it was fairly obvious. This book could have received a higher rating but there were too many loose ends and some things that didn't make sense. Also there were quite a few errors that took me out of the story. One example is when Porsche and Jason are assisting Wren. The situation is resolved and Jason just disappears. Porsche goes off with Wren while Jason vanishes. The biggest error is at the end though. Not only is there a wrong body count but . . . on the very same page, a paragraph apart, it says what happens to the killer, with the police and EMT action following making zero sense. Hopefully these are just errors in the ARC version.

The first in a new series, we meet Wren and her friends in a small town in the coast of Oregon. It is the week before Halloween when Wren and her cat Everett find a dead woman on the beach. Since the victim is clutching the label from one of Wrens honey lip balms, Wren and her store are in trouble. While the sleuthing is clumsy, it is their first murder and I trust they will improve. Overall, likeable characters and a fun read.

Wren Johnson is minding her own business, plus running an actual business with her boutique store Let It Bee, when she discovers the body of local woman Agnes Snow nearby. Suddenly Wren's life is turned upside down and with the cops visiting her asking questions nearly everyday - it's time to investigate and save herself from being framed for a crime she didn't commit.

This book is quite slow starting, but from about chapter 5 I got into it and by chapter 14 I was racing through it to find out if who I suspected was indeed the killer. Some of the descriptions around how the police work possibly needed a little more researching, but the lead cozy character being interested in bees was a really nice addition to the genre.

I would read more in this series and by this author.

I enjoyed this book. It's got good characters and lots of interactions. I liked the mystery but wasn't surprised by who the killer was. #DeathBeeComesHer #NetGalley

Wren Johnson is living her best life running her own boutique, and living with her cat near her aunt in the coastal town of Oceanview, Oregon. While walking Everett on the beach early one morning, Everett finds the body of her Aunt’s nemesis. When Wren calls it in she quickly becomes the prime suspect.

Not only does Wren have to clear her name, she has to save her business and clear her Aunt’s name in the process too. With so many suspect, Wren is in the same position as one of her precious bees, if she stings the killer, it could be the end of her own life.

I love Nancy Coco’s other series and this one is even better. I’m so excited for her to have a second series and having it set in Oregon near the ocean is a favorite spot for me, so bring on the next book, I’m ready for it!

This looks like it will be an interesting series. The mystery kept me guessing, although a few minor things didn't get completely resolved (just like in real life). I liked all of the recipes using honey and the bee facts.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.. I have preordered this book.

4 🐝🐝🐝🐝 bees out of 5 (4.5 really but I can't cut a bee in half!!) for book one of this new, really enjoyable, cozy mystery series! Engaging and stressful but fun and when I wasn't reading about it, I was thinking about it! And it also features an adorable cat sidekick, Everett, who helps his owner, Wren, try to solve a murder mystery.

It's Halloween in Oceanview, Oregon and Wren is busy getting her store "Let it Bee" ready for the weeklong festival. The store carries all natural honey products and has what I imagine to be a beautiful glass wall housing a living hive. I will sidebar here to say that this book also features honey and beeswax recipes and creations throughout that I actually want to try so that was another huge plus! But back to the plot, Wren finds a body on the beach and the dead woman is clutching the label off of one of Wren's lip balms and unfortunately, Wren becomes suspect number one. She sets out with her Aunt Eloise and friend Porsche to try and find the murderer because things keep getting worse and worse for Wren! There are lots of characters and you will spend a lot of time wondering why certain ones are introduced and what is happening and who may be involved or working against her. There were points where it went beyond a cozy and I was really overthinking the plot, which was nice!

Nancy Coco did a really lovely job writing this one, it flowed really well and was a good read. The characters were very well written and well rounded and some were tropey when needed for punctuation. The ending wrapped up a bit quickly and I was eager to hear about some loose ends that didn't get wrapped up but maybe those are for other future books in the series. It was very atmospheric in parts and I could feel the fog and the chill. And, of course, I loved the environmental, animal friendly delivery! There was some light romance and lots of family and love.

I will absolutely be back for book 2 and am eager to see what all of these characters will be up to next! If you love a good cozy mystery, I ++ recommend that you do no let this one bee🐝 pick it up when it publishes on January 26, 2021 and start the New Year off right!

As a first in a new series, Death Bee Comes Her is an absolute fantastic story.
I felt an immediate connection with Wren, the main character, as well as with the rest of the wonderful characters in this book.
Who knew bees could be so interesting?! I
thought the story was exciting and I read it nonstop.
I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

Death Bee Comes her by Nancy Coco was an advanced reader copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Wren Johnson and her cat take a walk by the ocean. She lives on the Oregon coast and has a honey store. Wren finds a woman on the beach, dead. The lady is holding a label from lip balm Wren makes at her store, Let it Bee. She makes candy, lotions, candles, lip balms and more. Someone is really trying to frame Wren. Thankfully, she has a good lawyer. There are recipes through the story, plus little words of wisdom in connection with the benefits of honey. The kids love eating the honey toffee candy.
Nancy Coc has written a cozy mystery series that takes place on Mackinac Island in North East. This book was interesting to read about items that can be made with honey. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of DEATH BEE COMES HER (Book 1 of the Oregon Honeycomb Mysteries) by Nancy Coco in exchange for an honest review. Wren Johnson has recently moved back to Oceanview and opened Let It Bee, which is a boutique featuring honey-themed candy, gifts, and specialty items. One fall morning, Wren takes Everett, her Havana Brown Cat, for a walk on the beach and returns home a murder suspect. Though Wren’s aunt carried on a long-term rivalry with the victim, Wren is puzzled about why she, herself, remains suspect number one. When it becomes clear that someone’s trying to frame her for the crime, Wren and her friends work overtime to clear her name and identify the real killer.

I liked this book and thought it was a great start to a new series. The book contained an excerpt from the sequel, and I am looking forward to that book’s release. I recommend this book to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, seaside towns, special events, honey, honeybees, Halloween, small businesses, and Havana Brown cats.
