Not really what I was expected... I'd thought it would be more along the lines of energy healing protocols and what one can actually do without the help/need of an energy medicine practitioner, a bit like Donna Eden's books.
But this one fell more along the lines of self-therapy and introspection and somewhat of a free-for-all approach to get in tune with oneself, after the anecdotal chapters send the reader in a specific direction...
Reminded me more of journal prompts than actual energy healing protocols, but it is definitely one book that will make you think

This was an interesting and easy to read book. I appreciated the use of stories and exercises to teach the principles. That said, I had a hard time connecting to it or finishing it. It will be perfect for a certain audience, one who already knows about energy medicine and wants to hone their skills.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review The Power of Energy Medicine.
This book was not what I was expecting, and I really enjoyed it so much!
This book is easy to read and it is relatable, it is also filled with important information.
The author organized the chapters into stories that are told to illustrate the power of a specific type of energetic medicine. Examples of this is the good medicine of patience, gratitude, planting, compassion, forgiveness, strong guidance and many more.
Each chapter ends with a short exercise that helps to further drive the point home and arrive at “good medicine” in your own life.
This book is a unique and wonderful way to consider all of the sources of energetic medicine that are all around us if we choose to tune in and recognize it.

This is a surprisingly powerful book, easy to read because it’s packed full of relevant, interesting, fascinating stories from real life. Each story is followed by a short exercise about a certain kind of “medicine” that relates to the story just told. Included are “medicines” such as: Genuine Patience, Connection, Good Mistakes, Letting Go, Traditions, Authentic Courage, Facing Your Vice, Breathing Through, Strong Guidance, Spirit Animals, Everyday Miracles, Love, and many more.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was drawn to this book because of my own personal health journey. As a first-generation American, I have been fortunate enough to see the benefits of both modern medicine and traditional practices, and both have helped me tremendously.

I enjoyed that the perspective in this book isn't anti-science or anti-medicine, but takes on a collaborative approach. I very much enjoyed the stories and cases shared here and the opportunity to see an immense amount of compassion for the people one cares for. Regardless of one's reasons for entering healthcare, there are not many practitioners who are able to convey their compassion in a way that earns deep trust in the relationship. One of the stories Hilary shares reminded me of a phenomenon that I read about while in grad school, where patients lived for the amount of time given to them in a prognosis from their physician. One might think the doctors were all just very accurate; however what was truly revealed is that something inexplicable happened when the patient heard that timeline and came into agreement with it. This has changed the way many relay the expectations of disease progression.

I love that Hilary is discussing energy medicine in a way that really engages the reader. There is so much about the body that we do not yet understand, and I agree that maintaining an open mind will help us to discover more than we could imagine. I would also enjoy this book a bit more in a physical copy due to the interactive nature the book takes on.
