This book was written by the founders of the site Adore Them Parenting, and it is divided into chapters for each month. The book frames everything very positively, explaining in the introduction that the authors chose to stop following and consuming media that presented parenting in a negative way, even when it was meant to be funny. Each monthly chapter starts with a brief intro and space to set monthly intentions (answer the same 5 questions). Then the chapters have a section to "focus on you," "connect with your kids," and "work from home" with different content/tips/activities ideas each month. Each chapter ends with monthly reflection space to recap but also look forward.
I like the book being split into months, because many parenting books seem to give a ton of info that becomes overwhelming quickly. That said, in some areas the content for the month seemed lacking or almost like it was geared toward someone who has just started working from home - March's work content is about setting up a workspace. I would guess the authors wrote at least some of this or were already thinking about it before the Covid 19 pandemic. Perhaps if the past year hadn't been a pandemic, the book would have resonated more with me. I think I was anticipating more tips and tricks on how to get work accomplished.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
