The Billionaire Athlete’s Christmas Fling
Leslie North

Chase is a retired skier and returns to his family run ski resort. Tana is the ski instructor there. They are both there for the same job. Sparks fly between them . A fairly predictable but easy quick read.

Escaping her past she finds everything she possibly needed. Insulting her boss was something she never anticipated but a fling might be just exactly what they both needed.

Chase Elker is a retired ski star and he is only heading back to his family's ski resort is because his beloved Gran has an important announcement once he has heard it he is heading off to LA away from the snow.

Tana is a ski instructor at the Elker Lodge ski resort, a single mother she is trying to make the best life for her and her daughter and getting promotion at work would help cement her and her daughters life here.

After her announcement Chase's gran asks him to go through the external candidates for the management role at the ski lodge.

When he meets Tana he is attracted to her and her daughter but when he realises she is going for the same job as he is going through external candidates for the problems are just beginning.

I really enjoyed the book, Chase starts of as maybe a bit of an arrogant character but his story arc is o e of the highlights of the book.

Lindsay the daughter is fabulous.

Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained.

This wasn't my cup of tea. There was no chemistry between the characters, no characters development at all. It felt rushed and I just couldn't get into it.

Leslie North is one of my "go to" authors when I want an easy book to read. This book followed that same pattern of great character development, a believable plot, small amounts of angst / drama and a happily ever after. Not to mention her books are usually short and can be read in a day. All pluses in my opinion during this crazy COVID world.

Chase Elkins is an ex-professional skier who ruined his career when he took a terrible fall during a ski race. He began to suffer from a mild case of depression - but enough to keep him from visiting his family. That is until his grandmother called and instructed him to return home for Christmas. His grandmother wants him to help his brother, Jonas, select a new director for the ski school. Chase doesn't really want to do it, but how can he turn down his grandmother after all she has done for him?

Tana is working as a ski instructor at Chase's family ski resort. She doesn't know Chase, but she has applied for the ski director job as a way to earn more money and have more stability for herself and her 6 year old daughter. She meets Chase one day in an unusual fashion and the sparks fly for both of them. However, there's only a few problems - Chase is on the committee to select the new ski director and she is an applicant; and he has said he tries to avoid children at all costs.

This is a cute book that entertained me for the time I was reading it. What else can you ask for?

This was a great read by a great author. Perfect book to start a new series as well. A star skier that meets a woman who makes him reconsider his feelings on long term relationships and her young daughter who he can’t help but fall in love with.

this book was interesting enough to keep me reading but not interesting enough to where I'd want to tell my friends that they should go out and purchase it immediately.

This was a nice Christmas themed book. It didn't really haveanything outstanding but it managed to make me interested in the story. The plot wasn't very complex and it didn't have any actual suspenseful moments.

The relationship between Chase and Tana seemed a little too rushed for my taste. The characters didn't really have any development and that was a little disappointing but overall this is a good and easy read to pass time.

A quick and easy Christmas read. Three brothers, each finding their true loves. This one is Chase's story. He is a professional skier, who was injured. Home to his family's ski resort he meets Tana, a single mother who is a ski instructor. It is predictable, but still kept my interest to the end, so would recommend.

This was not the book for me. The characters were hard to connect with and the plot was a little too convenient.

My problem with this book is that it had no plot and way too much angst and unnecessary drama. I kinda liked our main characters but since nothing really happened and everything ended up magically fixing itself i got bored.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review

The storyline is too convenient, character building is not thought at all. Eveything is too fast. Development of characters and relationships are missed.

I hoped that it would have a better story and narration. I was dissapointed.

I read until 20%, maybe to 25%, then jumped to the end.

I enjoyed this. It was a sweet and quick Christmas romance. Nice wee pick me up read. As always I loved the male protagonist, Chase, the most. I enjoyed his chapters and his backstory. Tana wasn't a bad female protagonist but she wasn't outstanding either. I liked the plot and everything seemed pretty reasonable. The child kind of annoyed me but thats how normally feel about that trope in books.
I have read a few books by Leslie North and they don't disappoint. If you want to read a Christmas romance this is a nice place to start.

I loved this book. It was a quick, easy read. The characters are fleshed out enough where you aren’t left asking questions. I went through highs and lows just like I was right there with the characters and it has the happy ending that makes your heart melt.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first in a new series. I almost always enjoy Ms. North's books. While I find them sometimes unbelievable, the romance and story are usually fun. This is no exception. Chase a wealth ex pro skier and Tana a ski instructor meet and a wild ride insues. 3.5 stars. Quick, easy read

DNF.
The title alone should have scared me away.

First, Chase - our billionaire, tells a complete stranger - Tana (the flingee) how to do her job.
Second: Mere moments after offering said advice, he’s “standing there with his arms crossed, checking her out from head to toe.” Despite the fact he already knows she’s one of his employees, and when she recognizes him, she’s...flattered?
Third: He creepily lurks and spies on her. Again, even though she’s an employee and therefore off limits.
Fourth: He tells her “I’m a no-kids kind of guy,” right before they pick up HER kid.
And FIFTH: Just before I quit this already over-the-top instalust hot mess, he gifts her with super wise, unsolicited parenting advice. He’s single, admittedly anti kids, and still able to mansplain parenting to a stranger he’s inappropriately attracted to.

He’s a keeper.
Not.

Pass.

Loved it! Great story line with really well done characters that you care about. You get lost in the story and don’t come out till it’s done.
