I guess I understand what the author is trying to say... But, honestly, I'm not sure. It isn't very clear on the message that the story is supposed to convey therefore I do not recommend it as it may be confusing to children.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I am reviewing a copy of Faith: Embracing God’s Presence through BooksGoSocial and Netgalley:

As a Mother and her two children walk in the snow they encounter puppies and Ice Skaters while walking in the snow, in which the Mother reminds her children that even they speak of God’s love.

When they stop at a local bakery, an adventure of discovery is found, where the Mother helps her young children recognize God’s presence in acts of kindness, great and small, in the beautiful sights and sounds of nature and the people around them.

This would be the perfect book to read to young children and those young at heart who want to know more about God’s love. Faith is a beautifully written and illustrated book. One that I am happy to recommend!

I give Faith five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Faith by Lara Glenn Blanchette provides easy to understand analogies to introduce concepts regarding the love of God. Her faith is shared in simple examples. The short text of each page makes this appropriate for even young readers with short attention spans, All will love the detailed illustrations that are beautiful in their understated elegance. The imagery of light is prevalent throughout the sweet story alluding directly to the light of God. This book is an essential part of a library for a young child learning more about their own faith. The images and inspiration will bless their lives and reminders are found throughout the book about how children are loved deeply.

I was provided a free advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review from Net Galley. The opinions shared in this review are my own.

Faith is a beautifully illustrated picture book for children to explain the meaning of faith especially during the festive season.
The author did a beautiful job of explaining to children about what faith is and means, especially with it being such a hard topic for children to understand completely.
The illustrations are so beautiful and this book would be a fantastic book for families to share together and discuss at Christmas time.

This is a story of a mother talking to her children about her faith and God's presence using examples from what they observe on their evening walk during the festive period . This was such a heart-warming read and written so delicately. The use of pictures and rhyme make it very accessible to children. The content makes for good discussion where children (adults even) can also get into the habit of thinking about the ways they can see and acknowledge God's presence in their everyday lives.

Such a well written way to explain faith to children and adults alike. Beautiful illustrations and a message everyone should hear. I’d recommend this to everyone.

I’m not really sure what the purpose of this book is. The title, Faith, would suggest that it’s an attempt to explain to a young child, why the author believes in God. However, the examples given, whilst creating nice, warm feelings, don’t do much to explain God’s presence. If it had been written by a child, I would say that they have allowed the rhyme to take over, at the expense of the content or storyline.

Such a great little book for a little one. I loved reading this one out loud to little ones. Definitely kept their attention and was asked to reread. Illustrations were beautiful!

Such a difficult concept to reduce into something tangible that a child can understand. I can see immediately how having given birth a mother may be blessed and feel a deeper faith in God.

Basically this is what this lovely books says in simple two lined verses and illustrations that invoke an evening walk around Christmas time.

I loved the introduction as Mum sets out on a walk with her two children intent to show how within the world around them her faith is revealed.

So in a few pages we meet a local baker who goes out of her way to serve and places a sign of her belief on the wall of her shop. Certainly we can all cope with a little more peace and joy in our lives; fundamental in the Christian teachings around the birth of the infant Jesus in Bethlehem.

While the story goes on to celebrate the decorations, the Christmas tree and carol singers as reinforcements of faith that direct link to Christ the saviour is not fully made. Faith is at work but it’s meaning and reason is lost in what can be for some quite secular events.
The faith and loyalty of the dog that brings joy to others and obedience to his master is the closest I felt to a deeper spiritual context and no real link was.made here to a personal God.

For me the book is not overtly Christian and perhaps this is intended; indeed Christ is removed from Xmas in the USA by the bland Happy Holidays.
I think the book works well for all who have faith in a God but then the link to Christmas might put off those of different faiths. But through the miracle of children any woman can see the new life happening and to be reminded of this, especially around Christmas. For me this is reason enough to have love, peace and joy. Faith is hard to explain and is often based on things we cannot see. So anything this book reveals as room for faith to grow should be welcomed.

It was a cute book about a mothers love, and how God is present in everyday life. I liked that the illustrations made you feel festive and you just want watch a lot of Christmas movies after.
I liked the poem, and how you get two lines for every picture.
Would totally recomend as a Christmas present to a child, or a mother, but others would like it too.
