I looked forward to reading this unusual book, but the more I read, the more uneasy I became with the author's thoughts and observations. I do keep in mind that this is a translation and perhaps the original tone didn't come across, but to me, it felt like there were Semitic undertones to some of the author's observations, either from ignorance or her own bias. I felt uncomfortable reading this and I was unable to finish it. This may be a cultural difference, but I'm not so sure that American readers who are more informed about Judaism will find it interesting or enjoyable.
