I thought that this book had a good storyline and great characters.
I will say that it was a little “out there” as far as torture goes!
Tit for tat is the order of the game that these intelligence operatives are playing
Read the book – it won’t disappoint! Roll on book two…
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

Adrien Dumortier lives! I was such a fan of his character in the Special Agent series and, honestly, was devastated when his character died. I was hoping that he hadn't though and was surprised, pleasantly so, when I saw the beginning of his own series.

It took me a bit to warm up to his character in this though because he was written almost tamely in it. Completely different than the POV chapters of his in the prior series. I also have to say the same for Elizabeth Sharkey's character, she seemed much stronger and able to take more than the way her character was written in here.

He may be written this way though because of how jilted and betrayed he feels because he believes that he was left behind, he truly doesn't know everything Lois had to overcome towards the end of the Special Agent series.

Months after the device of his twin brother, he is working as an undercover agent for Elizabeth and her company, who has seriously misjudged him. James and Louis, no longer employed by the same company are still in the same line of work though, with their team member, Melinda Leader. Mel seems to be one step ahead of Adie throughout.

With the ever want to go after James to get to Lois, Adie ends up coercing Sharkey in order to get to him. One step ahead though, James employs Leader to go undercover has a sister in order for Adie to kidnap who he believes to be the sister.

Once these two meet, whose willpower will win over? Will James get to Leader before her walls crack? When will Adie realize the deceptive switch? To find out these answers and more, we shall continue into book two.

Damn, When I finished the Special agents BDSM I just knew Adie couldn’t be dead so I jumped right into this book. He is still dark, handsome and deadly dangerous...but now with a purpose.
I can see how his reasoning goes but it.s one sided. He doesn’t care for logical explanation, but then, he never did.
I loved this twist from the series and can’t wait to read more.
It is as expected from the author: intense, hot and darkish.

Short but entertaining. I did enjoy this author and look forward to reading more of her writing. I loved how descriptive the writing was, I could visualize and laugh with some of the narrative. I was very entertaining. Oops, said that already! It was dark, but just what I wanted to read.

Things I strongly disliked -
-Adie talks like a teenage boy who keeps thinking with his dick. All he talks about is fucking girls and Lois and killing James for his betrayal. Annoying!
-I hated Adie for manhandling Elizabeth even though she was enjoying it! All I wanted to do was beating the shit outta him. I can't believe he's so disgusting! Especially the office scene when he was fingering Elizabeth in front of the whole office. And the girl has no backbone or self-respect whatsoever.
-Why is he so fucking cocky and annoying? I wanna smack his crotch too. Argh!
-This book is starting to piss me off with Adie and his teenage problems about getting rejected by girls. Heck, even a teen boy is more mature than him. He's whining all the time.
-I hate it when the main male character is being sexual with other women except the main female character. I don't mind if he was with others before meeting the female character but if he has sex with someone else after meeting her, the book's a total deal-breaker for me.
-I found the restaurant scene meh! And why the heck am I reading chapters after chapters about him getting it with his boss who I know for sure is not gonna be the heroine?! He's basically blackmailing her to have sex with him. Isn't it practically raping? Just saying. I skimmed the whole interaction. Don't get me wrong; I love steamy moments only when the main couples are getting it. And Elizabeth is pathetic!
-Damn it, Adie. Just go and talk to your best friend 'bout the whole situation. The whole hatred is based on miscommunication and lack of trust.
-Adie utters almost on every page about 'his amazing skills on bed'. Note the sarcasm. We already heard. Move along now dude.
-I think some of the detail resemble 'Fifty Shades' like taking off panty in a restaurant, vodka scene even though in 'Fifty Shades' there's different alcohol I think. I forgot the other moments I found.
-All he can talk about is how he's in love with Lois. Then why the hell he's fucking other girls instead of trying to get her. Not that I want Lois with him or anything. He's all bluff!
-Why did Leader turn into entirely something else after being kidnapped? She's all bark and talk but no action. I'm fed up with authors trying to make the female characters a badass but make them pathetic in front of the male characters. They forgot they can have a fucking backbone!
-What Adie is doing to Mel seemed basically rape to me. I don't know about others.
The book started out soooo good but then everything fell apart. For me at least. You may like it if you like harem books. But this book is not for me.

l loved the book, one thing that had me continuing the book is the fact that Leader kicked his butt, l felt the book empowered women in some sort of way as the woman boss had the affair with an employee, which is usually the other way around

The story was confusing at first but then I really got into it. Loved the characters and the story. I will read more of this author.

Two assassins get together and pow. Definitely adult oriented. Hot sex. However it also has a story and a cliff-hanger. A quick read.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read

It’s a 3/5 for me! I loved the idea behind this book, the story is something I found interesting and different and I thought I would fly through this book but that just wasn’t the case. I, the type of person who reads a book in a day sometime even a book and a half but this book, I’m almost embarrassed to say took me days to read! I felt like the story was extended to reach a page minimum! The main character, Adie, was the type of male lead that you have a love hate relationship with starting on page 1. There were times I wanted to lecture the character as well as have him sent to therapy but also times were I wanted to give him a round of applause (for doing the bare minimum to help a woman but still). Overall I’m going to read the second book but I definitely feel that the two books could probably have easily just been 1.

This is the first book in the series and is action packed. Adrien’s best friend has just married the woman he loves and now she is pregnant. James should have saved him but he didn’t, now Adrien even though everyone thinks he is dead, plans to get his revenge. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, twists and turns and steam. I really liked it.

Wow, ok first I will say this book is strictly adult oriented. It also is a cliff hanger! But it’s is so good it will make you wait for the next book, it’s so yummy you might wanna read it alone. Adie is dark, handsome and knows ways to make a female scream. He’s also an assassin. Leader is also an assassin, every bit as good as Aide maybe better. When their paths cross fireworks go off. If you don’t like erotic books then this is not for you

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
