#Body on Fire. I guess since I been in Cronic pain so long I should have known I was not going to find help in a book. I read this book because of all my nerve dammage. I was in hope of learning something new. However there are some this book will be good for. Just not me.

How many of us go to the doctor for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, insomnia, depression, etc., and are given a pill to make it go away? Well the goal of this book is to make us honestly assess our lives, and take some responsibility for our choices. Poor diet, sedentary lifestyles, and poor sleep habits are stressors to the body that cause inflammation. This book goes over ways to improve those poor habits, thereby decreasing inflammation and helping your body heal itself. Each chapter is presented in a clear and concise manner. One of the things that I really liked is that the book isn’t too preachy in its message. The author’s acknowledge that change can be difficult, and also acknowledge that even small changes are a step in the right direction. This is a pretty short and easy read and I would recommend it for pretty much anyone who is experiencing health issues. It certainly won’t cure everyone, but it could definitely help some of us.

This is a great reference book on how to lower inflammation to keep chronic illness at bay and it is reassuring to see that conventional medicine and doctors are acknowledging the need for practices like yoga nidra and meditation in prevention of illness. It has chapters dedicated to topics like the microbiome, sleep, stress, intermittent fasting, and hydration. Although it's great to have all of these in one place and explained by doctors, none of the information will be new to anyone who is interested in optimal health or who suffers from 'mystery' illnesses which are thought to be the result of an over-active nervous system.

This book is written by a pair of doctors who really seem to care about people and their health issues. They are people who learned a lot, and even expanded their medical knowledge into areas like nutrition. This is a really good guide to healthy eating, to fight inflammation and the illnesses that come with it.
