I read the first book in this series and must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. But i just didn't get the same connection to this one.

"This time is finally for us. Look what we went through all these years trying to fight our feelings for each other."

Sequel to the Moon Shadow, our female protagonists are back, finally acknowledging and basking in love and displaying the same grit while fending off enemies old and new.

Fans of the the prequel who did not get enough of the pair have their wishes granted in this book, where the calls of love and intimacy are answered in the pair's mutual loving and companionship.

There is just something about thrillers and suspense that i crave. Especially when its a potent mix of alluring and gorgeous leads with an intense plot.

The adversaries this time around consist of the vicious Eshee Yukimo who will stop at nothing to bend Rachel and the wiles of a rejected admirer Derrick.

4.5 stars for me. The trip to Rachel's homeland was beautifully written. There is this lightness and feeling of empowerment when Rachel introduced Claire to her land and roots. Looking forward to Book 3.

I didn't read the first book. However, this one seems to have a lot going on. Before once situation ended another began. I liked the main character Rachel even though at times I wondered why she never says no but instead putting herself at risk. With the money both MC had I couldn't understand why they needed to such risk. Throughout the book I wished the story was solely based on catching Eshee and her step dad with their illegal business and what she had to endure from him as a child. Having said this, I still enjoyed the book. 3.5 stars

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest opinion.

This is the second book in a series, the first book needs to be read before reading this one.

Rachel and Claire are finally together, but still healing from the events they went through in book one (Moon Shadow). But when Rachel gets pulled into another op with MI6 their peaceful life is no longer very serene. Rachel travels to the Philippines to help takedown the operations of SeaBridge, when the op goes sideways, MI6 still needs her help but it's too dangerous. Meanwhile, Claire is under protection in Las Vegas and being sort of stalked by Derrick. Rachel joins Clair and they remain under private security, but it isn't enough to keep them out of harm's way. When the op with MI6 seems to be done Rachel and Claire start anew, but the start might be a bit too blank.

There is so much going on in this book I don't even know what to say. I love a good action/crime/mystery-romance, but this is just too much. With everything that goes on in this book you could have easily written another 1, or even 2 books. Because there is so much going on I think most of the storylines feel rushed, skipped over, it feels like my brain was overloaded with information and it wasn't the most enjoyable experience. I like Rachel's character, but there is just so much left unsaid/ undone with her (and the other characters) that I also feel like it's just forced. Maybe that's the word that best fits this book, all of it feels a tad forced, the book doesn't need 3 very defining storylines, 2 would be more than enough. And the money, there is so much talk about fortunes, ridiculous amounts of money, it's just highly unbelievable.
This all sounds rather negative, but somehow I did breeze through this book and enjoyed it. I suppose because it's unbelievably ridiculous I am able to enjoy it, just don't take it too seriously, which is the case for many romance books I guess.

Rachel and Claire are finally together after they confess theirs feelings in the first book all they want is to live their life in peace.

Their peace’s is shattered when they learn there’s danger lurking around the corner when a woman name Eshee vows revenge on Rachel because she blames her computer program for destroying her company that she works hard for and she won’t stop until that revenge is met.

As they deal with this threat another threat is form of man we met in first book Derrick who a doctor who becomes fixates on Claire after she turns him down and he refuse to believe she won’t return his feelings as they try to navigate the danger they both are in they wonder are they strong enough to get justice or will they run out of luck.

I love this read it was suspenseful with romance it’s crazy that you create something to help people companies to succeed and then get blame for it because the company fails or not where it supposed to be. They both strong women but you can see the vulnerability.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.
