Death... Is The Ultimate Road Trip. This is one hilarious book that will leave you in tears - even as it ends exactly the way it must. A trippy road trip through space and time at the edge of the Millenium, this is one of those random, stoner-esque comedies with soul that makes you laugh out loud so very often and yet makes you fall in love with the characters at the same time. Truly an excellent, feel-good work and a great short-ish (under 300 page) escape for the holiday season. Very much recommended.

I received an ARC from Livingston Press through NetGalley for an honest review. Chaz was 20 years old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor with only 3 months to live. He decides to go on a road trip and adopts a dog to keep him company. He soon discovers, his dog Max can talk. He meets a woman named Clitty who was dreaming of being a Hollywood star. She comes along on his journey. They fall in love and it adds to the adventure. This could have been a somber, sad story but instead, Chaz makes this into a journey. He meets wonderful people along the way, and he sets the pace, and the adventures. Chaz had a short, quirky life but his final journey made me laugh many times. The final chapter was really good.
