I have only read the excerpt offered by NetGalley and will have to wait until the release date to read the entire thing, but if the first few chapters are anything to go by, this is going to be a delightful continuation of the Graceling series. I love being back in this world with these characters and can't wait to read more!

WOW!! I can’t wait for this book to come out! Kristen Cashore is one of my favorite writers. I absolutely love this series. This book has a really great start and I’m sure it will have an even better ending.

I was excited to read the excerpt. While I enjoyed it I really need to go back and re-read the previous books. The author was good about keeping the story contained to that volume I spent the time trying to remember past character stories. But this is my issue and not any problem with the excerpt.

Ugh, I cant wait for this book. I cant imagine it to be bad. Being back with these characters is the homecoming I needed.

I probably won't pick this up when it comes out. I found Bitterblue to be the most boring installment of the original series, and unfortunately it doesn't seem that I find her any more interesting now. I'm not sure exactly what it was about it, but this just didn't hold my interest.

I am so happy to go back to the Graceling world. It has been years since I read Bitterblue and was so excited to hear about a new book, As I was reading the excerpt things kept coming back, I am loving where the plot is heading and I cant wait for Winterkeep to be published.

I loved the Graceling books so I was absolutely thrilled to hear about another one bring released next year! It's probably one of my favourite fantasy worlds and I was over the moon to be back in this world among some very familiar characters.

This was just the first couple of chapters but it threw the reader right back into the action. There is a lot of amazing set up and it really enticed me to read more. I can't wait to read the rest when it's published!

There's little else I love in this world more than I love the Graceling Realm. This world is one I find myself so comfortable in, more so than the real world. I am beyond ecstatic that there is a new book in this magical world, and I cried the day it was announced.

Through this tiny sneak peek, I can already tell I will love this new book. (PLEASE, Kristin, write more!)

Giddon was one of my favorite characters in Graceling, and Bitterblue is one of the best queens in YA literature. I'm already loving the inclusion I'm seeing already. We love to see bisexuals right in the beginning of a novel, and I hope we keep seeing more and more inclusion from Kristin and Penguin.

I cannot wait for the full book!

I have to admit that I was excited but a little hesitant about Winterkeep when it was announced - I adore Graceling and Fire so much that I worried extending the series would be overkill. Luckily, this excerpt hooked me, so I'm more eager to read the new novel next month and find out more about the intriguing politics and relationships set up here. It was already so nice to see a grown-up Bitterblue, read from the perspective of a familiar character, Giddon, and hear early mentions of beloved Graceling characters.

Such a great sneak peek into Winterkeep. I'm so excited to get back into this world. I did have a hard time visualizing the map, and found I was a little turned around as to where everything was, so I hope there is a map in the published copy.

This was just a preview of a few chapters, but it jumped right into the action and characterization. I really look forward to reading the whole book - just these first few chapters set up an underground resistance network, a mystery in a faraway land, and a potential romantic relationship between a queen and one of her subjects. I can't wait to get back into the Graceling universe!

This book was received as an ARC from PENGUIN GROUP Penguin Young Readers Group - Dial Books in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I am a fan of the Graceling series by Kristin Cashore and did enjoy each book. Winterkeep sure measured up to the rest of the series. Even though this was only a sample, what I read so far seemed like a very enticing book. However, if new to the series, this is not the book to read first due to the many reoccurring characters and past events frequently being mentioned throughout the book which might cause confusion. However, I have read all three books and it was on the refreshing side to see some of our favorite characters pop up and reliving past events from the other three books. I know this book will circulate very well just as her other books in our YA collection.

We will consider adding this title to our YA collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Kristin Cashore is a genius and I ADORE her fictional worlds. This one is such an interesting tapestry of light and dark, so beautifully balanced, and all of her gorgeous writing and rich worldbuilding are in service of a taut and fascinating plot. I'll read anything she writes.

Gosh, it's been ages since I've read this series so I remember bits and pieces about everything, yet I was still extremely excited when I found out that we were getting a new book.

This excerpt is such a tease! Definitely made me want to reread Bitterblue. Can't wait for the whole book to come out.

This series is one of my absolute favorites and I'm so excited that we're getting another book! This little excerpt was such a tease though; I can't wait to read the full thing. I love this world and these characters and getting to spend more time with them, even just these few chapters, makes me so happy. I think I might have to reread the rest of the books in anticipation.

A story with an alluringly grim setting and a very bright heroic heart at its core.

Winterkeep takes place a few years after Bitterblue. Our heroine, now the the queen of Monsea, has not only grown up to be a ruler with her land governed as a just republican monarchy (even with all the brutal setbacks a thing like monarchy has) proved to be a thousand times better than her father and she can still wander around solving mysteries that want her people to suffer a few more days like in Bitterblue.

Winterkeep goes on in the tradition of the Graceling book series as a more grown-up young adult story for teenagers who are ready to explore what it means to be a person with responsibilities.
As it should be for a book dealing with the burden of leadership, we see each character struggling with their loved ones, their family, their views on varied peoples, and their differing opinions on obedience versus innovation. The great message of this story for me turned out to be the message of being real and truthful in a relationship, be it between a boy and a girl or a Queen and her realm.

In the end, the book is an excellent addition to the series. If you are fans of Graceling or want to see a fantastic realm with interesting character arcs, I believe you should let it enchant you.

This chapter sampler really has made me excited for the rest of the book. More so than I already was even. So glad to have another book focusing on Bitterblue, and looks like we see some cameos from other favourites too.
