A book with lots of information and fabulous ideas to create a home office/space. This book introduces use to the concept of where to start by choosing a location and providing a great gallery of photos of layout and looks. Secondly, still with fabulous photos, there are the answers to set up which include lighting, storage, dressing, and lots more. Finally the books come with tips and ideas of how to make it user friendly for working from home.
I think I need I need at least 10 office space - cant chose from the gallery of pictures.

Home Office Solutions by Chris Peterson is an essential book for anyone working from home these days. It is divided into three chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on choosing a location for a home office, and includes a variety of important issues to consider, such as how much space you need, traffic flow, if visitor space is necessary, the noise level of the area, where the technology dead zones and hot spots are, and even the visual impact the office will have on your home. This section also discusses the various options for home offices, from closets to attics, basements to outbuildings. Basically, the book has ideas for you if you have a room you can dedicate to your home office or if you have to use a corner of a bedroom, repurpose a closet, or even use space under the stairs.

Chapter 2, which is the largest of the three chapters, focuses on setting up the home office. Peterson goes over how to plan your room and your desk layout, furniture options, technology, lighting, colors and patterns, and even discusses how to personalize your home office.

Chapter 3 covers better ways to work from home. Peterson discusses video meetings, which have become a staple these days, focusing on issues such as lighting, sound, picture quality, and background clutter. He also has a section on tax advantages of working at home and even includes a list of useful apps and programs.
The book also includes other useful bits of information, such as reviewing the case against using the same computer for home and work, options for soundproofing, how to build a DIY floating desk, features to look for in a quality office chair, and many other gems.

Finally, the book is filled with lovely full-color photos that would make anyone want to have a home office – even the offices under the stairs or in a closet look amazing!

I think this book is most useful for someone setting up a home office. Since I already have such a setup, I found Chapter 3 to be the most useful. But really, this book covers everything you need to know about creating a home office and working from home on a daily basis.

Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy of this book.

Very timely publication with tips for creating the ideal home office space and tips for working from home. There is a section for small spaces but even these are for more space than I have and would have liked more information about having to share work space with roommates or your partner.

This book is a feast for the eyes. It effectively shows examples of home offices for all walks of life and income levels. It even gives advice for those forced to work from home (due to the pandemic) some nice tips on staying sane. Great book!

**The PDF that I enjoyed was an advanced reader copy granted to me through Netgalley. All opinions are my own and not that of the publisher.**

This is an incredibly timely book, as many people spent last year transitioning to working at home. And as many are continuing to work from home, and have their children attending school online from home, this is a wonderful guide to creating a workspace for everyone that fits their needs and their homes.

I originally picked this up because I thought it would give me some visual inspiration for my home office. This boom is so much more than that. Its great for inspiration yes but is also a great resource and delves into tips and just general advice on working from home. Loved it!

This is a wonderfully useful book for anyone planning to set up a home office. It contains all the information anyone working at home needs to install an attractive and ergonomic office anywhere in the house or apartment, from tiny nooks to large open spaces. Peterson covers which room to choose, how to choose equipment, how to lay-out your office, and much more. There are unusual ideas. For example, have you thought of putting your office in the kitchen?

The book also has beautifully-photographed pictures and diagrams to complement the writing and lists of items you may need.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I thought this book was very informative and helpful to me during a time when most everyone is required to work from home. It provided very useful information about locations throughout your home you would never think about using, and also gave ideas on how to convert areas of dead space. The book gave many scenarios, such as small and tidy alcoves or big and spacious rooms. It also provided options on details of your workspace - lighting, electrical, decorative pieces, types of chairs, etc. I loved the pictures that were associated with the type of workspace that was discussed. It helped me visualize and form ideas on where I can set up my space. I did skim through some parts that were not useful to me but overall it was a good, practical and useful book that I would recommend.

This is a very relative book at the moment since so many jobs are working from home. Based off your house size, this book offers very good options to create an office spot. They all looked very nice and some could work in my house.

If the question is: Work from Home? The answer is this book.

Really, it covers absolutely every idea and question you may have about how to set up a space and the actual work from home. It starts with taking a better, closer look at your space and choosing the best nook or room or little space to set your desk (I appreciate it is quite empathetic with small homes, too) and ends up with advice for video calls, tax benefits and security. It's the whole deal!

My home office has evolved naturally, with every need being met in the best way available at that time. This book is great to take a way a lot of doubt and hustle out of the way and make the best choices right from the start. There are so many details that you first don't take into consideration but this book covers them all. It's also great if you, like me, have already a dedicated space but you're in search of some ideas to better the space and the experience.

You know how they say - if you have a problem, there's a book for that. This book is the solution to establishing a work for home practice. Highly recommended! Plus it has a lot of pictures for inspiration and to illustrate the ideas presented.

Thank you to @netgalley, the publisher and author for gifting me this free e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was looking for some ideas and inspiration on how to secure some space for my "office". I live in an apartment with hubby and 2 kids and don't have a lot of space and I found some really great solutions in this book.

Would recommend to anyone looking for somw inspiration for their home office, no matter big or small

I was first drawn to this book as I'm working from home full time now, and am working out of my bedroom. I was hoping there might be some tips for setting up a work area in small spaces, but the book was more focused on if you have a separate room for a home office. The images were very nice and great inspiration, that maybe if I do get a place with my own office one day I can definitely keep in mind! It wasn't the most helpful to me for where I am in life right now, but I think others would really enjoy and could benefit from this book.

I was excited to review this book as I'm trying to set up a workspace in my home and I am looking for some really great desk and storage ideas along with where to purchase those things. The book has a lot of pretty pictures and some good ideas overall, but I think most of the ideas are out of my price range and not applicable to the specific area that I have for my workspace.

However, I did enjoy looking through it and reading the areas there were applicable to me and I will probably use a few of the ideas in my workspace.

This is a very helpful book. I was a little disappointed in the beginning because from the cover I expected a lot about how to tuck great, inexpensive home offices into homes without a lot of space and the first part of the book is filled with tons of stock images of expensive home offices where they have a giant dedicated room for their office and it's impeccably furnished. Later on in the book it gave really good advice for those of us who don't live in that income bracket or have that kind of space though, and had lots of pictures of creative home office solutions in kitchens, closets and more. There is lots of good advice about everything from dealing with kids to computer security to installing a pull down desk, and it's very thorough in the second half.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

I am a sucker for a good home organization book. Even though I've been working from home for four years (three houses, so three home offices in that time), I learn something new from each office setup and house layout. I think particularly right now when most of us (if possible) are working from home and companies are reconsidering their work from home policies, this book can be really helpful. Covering more than just the basics of what kind of desk you might like, there are also tips for how to manage the balance of working from home, for instance when children are also in the house. A must read for anyone working from home.

I found this book about home offices to be very interesting and enlightening.. I like that there were photos of different types of desks, chairs, lamps, etc. and much description given as to why certain furniture works better than others.
