Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This is a re-release of a book from yesteryear. The content is not totally about Lincoln's humor but is all about his honesty, wise thinking, and prodigious memory. The information given helps the reader to further understand the life and times of our 16th President. This is a relatively quick read and is very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Another fine book on most highly regarded president illustrating his gift for the English language. With his limited schooling it shows that his self education was exemplary.

The minute I can get my hands on a hardcopy, I will be buying it for my personal collection. This book inspired me to watch the movie "Lincoln" again, and I enjoyed it much more the second time around.

I am sure that by now you can gather that I thoroughly enjoyed the book as well!

All I can say ... what a man Lincoln was!

This book collects stories of Lincoln and his life, comments, conversations, and responses to others. Some are humorous, others illustrate his dry sense of humor. The book covered each one often with notes about who he was conversing with or about. They are numbered sequentially but don't necessarily seem to be organized by time or type.

A lovely and insightful collection of deeply human stories and anecdotes by and about this giant among American historical figures. A timely reminder of the great value of humor and humility in a leader.
