I read this cookbook in hopes of finding some easy recipes to try and I instantly felt overwhelmed with all of the steps and ingredients involved in the recipes. I liked the personal insight and the stories that were included in with the sections and recipes, but I didn't find anything that made me intrigued enough to try out on my own. I enjoyed reading through this cookbook, but it won't be one that I will read again in the future.

This was a great cookbook! It's perfect for families with picky eaters. I tried several recipes, and my personal favorites were the cheesy broccoli cheddar bow tie pasta and the one pot turkey helper. The recipes were easy to follow along, tasted great, and the cookbook was well laid out.

I feel this was a decent cookbook. No fuss isn’t actually correct several recipes are complicated and time consuming for an ok dinner probably not worth the efforts required. The recipes aren’t bad at all but it’s mostly run of the mill fair with the twist of harder to find ingredients and extra steps that could be simplified for cooking ease. I think it has potential but just isn’t a home run for me.

A good family friendly cookbook, but some of the recipes aren't really "no fuss". Beautiful photos that make the dishes tempting.

I thought the recipes were just okay, I don't think they were as "no-fuss" as they are claimed to be. Overall I think it's a good book not necessarily a must have book.

There are some interesting recipes but I'm not sure I would consider these recipes fuss free as the title implies. So, while I will try some recipes from this book, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for when I picked this cookbook up. They aren't super complicated but I was expecting few ingredients or steps to get dinner on the table.

This isn't exactly a "no-fuss" cookbook. I suppose that for a chef, these are super simple recipes, but for people who aren't great chefs and want to use fewer ingredients, this might not be for them. It's nice to see the author and his family, the photos are great, but I wouldn't really call it "no-fuss."

I am an avid cookbook collector and I love to cook! I loved that their are so many pictures in this cookbook. Often, cookbooks don’t have enough pictures of the food and I NEED pictures! The recipes looked really good and easy like the author claimed and I was so excited to get in and start cooking a few. This will be a cookbook that use & cherish for years to come!

** Thank you to the author/publisher & NetGalley for an ARC of this book!

This is a really cute cookbook. The photos make everything look delicious, and the meals do actually look family-friendly. And that's from a person with a child who makes picky seem generous and open. I especially liked that it doesn't have a doctrine (there's meat! vegetarian options! plenty for me, and I'm vaguely kosher!) and was written in a breezy and approachable way, but with really clear instructions in the recipes. Highly recommended for a lot of delicious basics as well as some fancier fare to add to your monthly meals.

I might actually go out and buy this cookbook. I found some of the recipes intriguing however, my biggest problem is always time. I felt like some of the recipes still took too much time for me to prepare which made it hard to become a staple for weekday dinners.

This is a great cookbook! I will be adding it to my collection every. I feel this cookbook is very user friendly and I am a huge fan of pictures. I do wish the font was a little bit larger. I think this is a great cookbook to add to the quest to find family friendly meals.

Celebrity chef, Ryan Scott, is the author of The No-Fuss Family Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Everyday Life, a cookbook filled with fairly simple recipes that are suitable for families. This cookbook has all the elements of an excellent cookbook: easy recipes, ingredients that most of us have in our pantry and freezer, beautiful photographs (mostly of the dishes, but an extra dose of pictures of his daughter; he obviously thinks she’s adorable and more interesting than the food), and notes at the beginning of each recipe that give explanations.

The recipes are written in a succinct, easy-to-follow manner, so everyone – beginning to advanced cooks – can easily turn out the dishes so they are picture perfect. While there are dozens of fairly appealing recipes, there are none that absolutely “blow me away.” Some are interesting enough to consider making, but none made me excited enough to rush to the kitchen to prepare immediately. The cookbook does include a nice chapter with breakfast dishes, as well as soups, salads, snacks, pasta dishes, dishes for dinner, and desserts. The title lets readers know that the dishes are geared for everyday meals; while they are great for everyday, they can be put together fairly quickly, and are suitable for weeknights, but they tend to be a bit boring.

If you are a cookbook collector and like cookbooks by celebrity chefs, you’ll want to pick this one up. Some of the recipes are definitely worth preparing for your family.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

The title says it all!! This cookbook is actually "no-fuss"! I love that the recipes are so accessible in terms of ingredients and ease of cooking.
The book itself was also a joy to read. The author seems very playful and the family vibe just oozed from the pages. Great compilation of recipes, I will definitely be looking to get the hardcopy for our kitchen shelf.

I enjoyed this book and the different recipes ideas but there were not a lot of gluten free or dairy free options. There were recipes that offer many ways of differentiation for each member of the family.

Healthy recipes and great for families! By taking somewhat classic recipes and putting a twist to them (updated rice crispies!) it really gives the sense of trying something new, especially for the kids. Great pictures and inside look at how a celebrity chef feeds his family and makes it interesting! Everything is straight forward and easy to follow. My only problem was that the title is ‘no fuss’ and some of the recipes added extra flair that seemed a little fussy. But vegetarian options are nice! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

The No-Fuss Family Cookbook by Ryan Scott is a fun and interesting collection of recipes for family meals. There are lots of healthy additions to traditional favourites and the personal stories that accompany many of the recipes will be enjoyed by fans of the author. That being said, those looking for quick and easy meals that are fuss-free might be disappointed.

I am a cooking show junkie and I have always enjoyed Ryan Scott’s flair for making ordinary food exciting. This book has quite a few recipes that will become instant hits and there are quite a few that I am excited to try. The recipes include:

Foreword: Carla Hall
Introduction
Breakfast and Baked Goods
Salads, Soups, and Snacks
Pasta
Dinner
Veggies and Sides
Desserts

❀ SIMPLE LAYOUT

The book has a simple layout and there are quite a few images to accompany the recipes. Ryan takes traditional family meals and turns them up a notch with flavour and healthy alternatives. There are also lots of notes included to give readers tips on how to achieve the best results.

❀ NOT QUITE NO-FUSS

While I really enjoyed this cookbook and found it to be quite useful, the title might be very misleading to some. The idea of “no-fuss” implies that there are few steps and fast results. These recipes aren’t the fussiest ones that I have come across, but they aren’t as straightforward as I was expecting. Having to toast coconut and slice a banana to decorate the top for a banana bread recipe adds a little more time to my schedule, for sure.

Admittedly, this banana bread is extremely satisfying with the inclusion of three types of coconut and packs in a lot of flavour. The next time I try it, I will avoid adding the banana to the top, as it fell out in a big clump when I tried to remove it from the pan! Thankfully, I took an image of it before it all fell apart.

❀ NEW AND INTERESTING IDEAS

If you are looking for some new and interesting ideas for family meals, The No-Fuss Family Cookbook by Ryan Scott is one to try. There are some fantastic ways to shake up your routine in the kitchen with this book. Maybe not the most fuss-free recipe book out there, but it certainly has lots to offer.

Quick weeknight meals that are kid-friendly and healthy? Yes, please! Remember those commercials for Rice Krispie treats where the mom came out of the kitchen with flour all over her face and looking exhausted and presented the treats to her family who all thought she had slaved over them? You can re-create that with any of these recipes because they're all that easy. There's even a recipe for Brown Butter Butterscotch Marshmallow Square Treats if you feel the need to stick to the original script.
