After months of courting Miss Georgiana “Georgie” Featherton is thrilled when Gavin, Viscount Turley, the man she loves, drops to one knee and proposes – but the proposal is lacking emotion, so instead of answering his question, she asks if he loves her and when he doesn’t reply, she rejects his proposal and leaves the room without another word. Heartbroken, she reveals all to her grandmother and agrees to leave town for a bit. While visiting with her dear friend Adeline Littleton – whose husband Frits just happens to be Gavin’s best friend, she is invited to a house party and figures if Gavin doesn’t love her, she must get over her broken heart and hopefully find someone who will.

Gavin is stunned, he believed that Georgie was receptive to his suit and didn’t expect her to want a love match. Gavin likes Georgie and knows she would be the perfect wife – and if he could love anyone, he would love her. But after watching his father fall apart after losing his love, Gavin is not willing to risk his heart. So while he would happily give her the world, love is not something Gavin can give to her – or any woman. He wonders if there is any way, he can convince her to change her mind and when he learns she has gone to a house party with eligible young men, he takes the advice of his friends and goes after her. He ends up staying with Frits grandmother and her friends – who agree to “help” him win Georgie.

This was a very well-written book with a lot of potential to be an amazing story – but for me – it was boring. There are a lot of characters and the author set up many plot points that could have made this an exciting read, but each point was shot down before it could take flight – leading to a book with almost no conflict, drama, or passion. Overall, I found this to be a very vanilla read – pleasant but bland with nothing to get excited about and it is definitely not a book I would read again. This is the second book in the series, but it could easily be read as a standalone title.

Gavin, Viscount Turley got down on his knee to propose to Georgie, only that his proposal sounded more like a business arrangement than a marriage one, it lacked sentiment which was why Georgie refused it.

Now he must find a way to make her believe that a marriage between will be everything she would need, even if he can't say that he loves her. All Georgie wants is a marriage based on love, when Gavin says everything but that he loves her, she leaves London in order to clear her head.

A second chance to court her presents itself during a county dinner party and he is determined to attend and not waste it. While spending time together, with the help of a group of determined and well wished ladies, they discovered new qualities about the other.

The romance is a slow burn, which gives them time to get to know the other in a new way. The courting was very entertaining to read, with a lot of details about the process which could be helpful for someone who hasn't read many historical romances.

There were a number of POVs from different characters, it was helpful in a way to understand their action but they also slowed down the book's progress.

The Most Eligible VIscount in London by Ella Quinn might be Viscount Gavin Turley, but he is definitely one of the clueless. He proposes marriage to Georgie like he was applying for a job. Surprising - not - she turned him down! He however is quite surprised.

From here the story takes a lovely romp in the English Countryside with a house party and some older relatives who are taking a personal interest in bringing Gavin up to par for Georgie. Little does Georgie and Gavin know there are all sorts of other characters in play, as well as both having great friends helping them. Horseback riding, lots of tea and little time alone all make the story essentially an historical romance. The writing was interesting, the characters were fun and the situations Georgie and Gavin were woven into the storyline beautifully. I enjoyed reading this novel. The Most Eligible Viscount in London by Ella Qinn was a fun read.

Cute story about 2 people that want to get married but the guy is afraid to love and the girl won't marry without love. A trip to the country with friends and a trio of matchmaking dowagers helps things along. Like I said this is a cute story, but without the passion I've come to expect from Regency romance. For most of the book I kind of wanted to bonk Gavin on his head and tell him to wake up and get over himself!! I liked Georgie...she's a woman ahead of her time. When she was caught up in an ill-planned kidnapping attempt she has the wherewithal to help herself out of her situation...although the event is what finally propelled Gavin to admit that he loved her.
Overall I really didn't feel much chemistry between the two and things dragged on a little.
My thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you netgally for allowing me to read this book in advance and review it.

How should I start this?

First, I thought that the premise was really interesting and that I would surely enjoy it.

Two, I expected a well done slow-burn type of a romance

Three, it would immersed me.

However, none of that happened. The plot was really slow and stretched to me. I didn't like the main characters, Georgie and Gavin that much, however I would say I can relate to the main issue of the story.

Overall, it was pretty disappointing.

I saw this cover and IMMEDIATELY wanted to read this book. It just drew me in. I liked the idea of this book, but the story just let me down.

First off, the overabundance of characters in the beginning of the book was overwhelming. Introducing all those people and their stories got confusing, and detracted from the real purpose of the story. They didn't add anything, and felt a little unnecessary. It made the book fussy.

Secondly, the fact that this couple literally isn't really on page together much until after 40 percent is rough. I felt like we were in their thoughts A LOT, but even those thoughts got so repetitive. I just missed the interactions between the characters because by the end it was hard to believe it was true love forever.

I'm glad he fell in love with Georgie, but it wasn't very believable for me.

2.5 rounded to 3 stars.

Will he let his past impede his future ...

Like the previous book in this series, it is a slow moving tale, more a reflection about one wants.
And while the story begins with the heroine rejecting the hero because he is unable to speak the three L words, I wonder if any were really in love with one another.
They liked the facade the other presented to the world but did they really know the person behind it.
Georgie is all prim and proper when in the city, conducting herself as society expects her to. Kind there, polite here. But her true self is left behind.
Gavin is her perfect counterpart, doing his duty to his title, certain to have found the perfect viscountess.
Yet none knows the real one hiding under their ton’s clothes.
He could have looked elsewhere after being refused, which is the usual way in their society, but the sparks between them tell him there could be more if he can convince her. She was ready to explore other possible options rather soon after, so was she really in love.
It is their close proximity outside the polished surroundings of the city that will help them getting to truly know and understand one another.
And from there, they tilt the balance.
It is a story of few actions, following their steps from tea rooms to country parties, with many meddling characters who like to interfere.

There is in the background a second romance, and I confess I was more intrigued by them than the main characters, the fellow guy has a bad reputation, yet he appears more a victim and a true villain, he looks like torn between his wants and his lack of power to make them come to fruition.
And his “love” interest was also intriguing, outspoken and decided.
They would have been great main characters.

This book took me a while to finish. Georgie and Gavin seemed like a perfect pair, but right at the beginning he botched the proposal and Georgie says no after he can’t answer the question of love.

Throughout the whole book, Gavin tries to court Georgie, but whenever they’re close others interrupt and this continues until 80% of the book.
As I’ve not read any other books from this series, so it was hard to sometimes remember who was who.
There was a part where the author accidentally wrote Gavin’s not Lyttons name with another lady. Ah yes, there was another “romance” story going on in this book.

All in all it was an ok read. Personally there were too many people involved in the whole “help Gavin get Georgie” story and it took away from Gavin courting Georgie.

Thank you to the publisher for this advanced ebook copy. All thoughts are my own.

The writing style of the author is very accessible and easy to get into, however, the pacing of the book is too fast for my liking. I also couldn't believe how fast everything goes from one thing to another. The entire book feels like a fever dream to me and I'm feeling like I'm being whiplashed by everything that's happening. I didn't also feel the chemistry between the main leads and they don't really feel like the main characters of the story at all. The main female lead is so fast in jumping to conclusions and being so into her head, it's kind of funny but in an annoying way. The main male lead doesn't have a personality at all, he's just bland and forgettable. The side characters never acted like someone their age at all. If the main character doesn't call her grandmother, grandmamma, I might think her grandmother is her teenage sister because of how she and her duchess friend acts. Everything kind of all over the place and I really don't know if I would recommend this book to other readers. It's not a bad book, it's just so convoluted and messy most of the time.

I enjoyed the beginning of this story very much. It is about a young woman who is being courted during the season. She has a devout suitor that she feels that she loves very much. They connect on so many different levels. The hero comes to propose and just fails. The one point she wanted was to be told he loves her. He tells her that love doesn't exist. She abruptly gets up and leaves. After thinking about it the hero vows to get her back. He doesn't realize that he is already in love with her.
This book is part of a series and there were very many references to other stories. There is a little group of grandmothers who are trying to pair everyone up, but only with love matches. A part of the story is told about a rival for the heroine, but his attempts seemed luke warm at best and he gets paired with another.
Readers who enjoy a light hearted romance that mostly deals with character development will like this book. I like a little more history in my stories and no so much party girl. But overall, it was well written, no errors and even though a long read for me, it read fairly smoothly. I recommend with 4 stars.

I don't have too much to say about this novel. I really liked the premise. The set up was amazing from page one. I was ready to see the hero, Gavin, really pursue Georgie. So I settled in and then I waited... and I waited...

And everyone else and their grandmother was helping this guy try to win over this girl and it still took until 80% before they even kissed.

To put it bluntly. I was bored. I was so bored. I can't even really recommend this to anyone because it didn't follow through on the premise. The hero doesn't really go through a journey to realize his love.

They just flirt with people in their way trying to help them get together... its was long, drawn out and boring.

Especially since I feel left down after that great opening 10%.

2.5 stars, but I will round to 3 stars.

*** 3.4 Stars ***

We’ve met Gavin Turley and Georgie Featherton in earlier books and assumed they were a fixed couple. Apparently, they were and they weren’t. Now, we have their story, and the beginning isn’t very auspicious. Georgie has waited forever for Gavin to propose – and now he is bungling it big time. As he lays out all of the business-type reasons they should marry, Georgie becomes more and more and more disillusioned. Never once does Gavin mention love and when Georgie asks him if he loves her, he cannot/does not answer. That, of course, tells her all she wants to know and she declines.

Georgie leaves the room and proceeds to her bedroom where she manages to cry her eyes out. Gavin stares at her retreating figure in disbelief. He knows Georgie has been looking forward to and was favorably inclined toward his proposal. What did he do wrong?

Gavin absolutely cannot allow himself to love his wife. His father loved his mother beyond all else and when she died, it ruined his father and his family. Love just cannot happen for him – he cannot allow it. He admires Georgie, is fond of her, and is grateful for the friendship they share, but he does not – cannot – love her. How can he convince her that what they have is better than love?

Friends and family are definitely not shy about interfering in Georgie and Gavin’s lives, but Gavin is just not being cooperative. They ALL know Gavin loves Georgie, Gavin just doesn’t know it nor would he admit it if he did. Everyone has their work cut out for them, but when Georgie is in danger, Gavin finally realizes all he could lose. But, is it too late? Has Georgie already moved on?

While I liked the basic story, it was pretty bland overall. There wasn’t much excitement at all – even the danger to Georgie was a bit anti-climactic. I also found that I wasn’t overly invested in either of the characters – especially Georgie. I understand she wanted to marry for love – and that she supposedly loved Gavin. What I didn’t understand was – if she loved him so much, why was she almost immediately considering what other eligible gentlemen might be available to her. I know it would take me a long while to get over the fact that someone I loved didn’t love me and I definitely wouldn’t be looking for his replacement almost as soon as the door shut behind him. Then, there were the interfering friends who didn’t do anything helpful to further the relationship. To my view, they hindered more than helped.

It was a nice story and I was happy to see Georgie and Gavin get their very lovely HEA – as well as a happy event for Frits and Adeline from The Most Eligible Lord in London.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a sweet courtship romance book.
I have not read any of the author's other work but felt this did fine as a standalone.
Georgie and Gavin are the cutest idiots. They both love each other but he botches the proposal so she says no. Gavin then spends the rest of the novel trying to win her back. Their romance was adorable.
The beginning of the book was very strong. I was pulled into the story and was speeding through the pages. However, the rest of the book did not have a ton of excitement (except for one scene towards the end). There were also a lot of characters, I kept forgetting who was who and how they were related. That may be my fault though since I haven't read any of the other books in this series. There was also a lot of time spent on another couple that gets hitched at the end too. I wasn't sure why this was included. I felt it took away from the romance between Gavin and Georgie.
Besides my few qualms this was a very sweet, mostly clean romance that made for a nice Sunday read.

Miss Georgie Featherton is hopeful for a proposal from her beau, Viscount Gavin Turley. But, when Gavin does make a proposal, he seemed to be listing his credentials for a business partnership. Georgie will accept nothing less than love, so she refuses him. Now Gavin needs to convince her they belong together.

This is the second book in the Lords of London series. Sadly, this book just wasn't for me. The story started interestingly enough, with the rejected proposal. The hero witnessed his father's heartbreak and devastation after his mother died, and decided he would not allow himself to fall victim to love. He wants a solid marriage built on companionship and lust, and he thinks he's found that with Georgie. But, for me, the story meandered aimlessly for chapters with a long separation and various conversations with a large cast of characters. The hero and heroine just didn't spend enough time together and, even when they did, I didn't feel invested in their happy ending.

Readers who like a sweeter, simpler story may want to give this a try.

This is my fair and honest review, voluntarily given and in my own words, for this ARC. I have always enjoyed Ella Quinn's books which is why I requested this one. This is a very long read. Part of that is due to a lot of minutiae. If you like that sort of writing, then you will love this book.

This book is so slow and that's saying something as the story begins at the marriage proposal. There is no backstory most of the earlier plot most have happened in the first book of the series, I wouldn't know I didn't read it. There was no chemistry between the two characters and I was just bored while reading which is definitely a sign that this book isn't worth the time.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Absolutely loved this book! It had everything, love romance a kidnapping (kinda) if you love historical romances you will love it! With the right amount of “romance”

If you have read the other books in The Lords of London series, you might have been surprised like I was to learn that Gavin and Georgie were getting their own story. After all, their devotion to each other was evident from the first time they met. For several books, they have clearly been moving towards a much-anticipated marriage proposal. The problem is that it was a little too anticipated by Georgie and, when Gavin bungles it, she is left doubting his love (with reason it seems because he refuses to love her). Had he been a bit more passionate in his proposal, she might not have thought to ask and there would be no story at all, but, once she did, we were off on a merry chase involving the whole cast and crew from the series so far.

This book is especially enjoyable if you have read the other books in the series, enjoyed the characters, and want to spend more time with them. If you haven't met the other characters yet and this is your first introduction, you won't be lost, you just might not appreciate the anecdotes and personalities as much as you would have if you had known them longer. Don't worry about starting the series here.

Overall, this book is a nice, enjoyable read. The characters are fun. I particularly enjoyed Georgie's horse, Lily, who has several shining moments. And the Dowagers are as meddlesome as ever. The problem is that there is little conflict to keep the plot moving. Everything that happens is quickly resolved, yet it takes nearly the entire book for Gavin to come to his senses about Georgie. It is easy to put down and pick up again at a leisurely pace. When you get to the end, however, you will have enjoyed the time you spent.

You can always count on Ella Quinn for a reliably good, historically accurate romance. That’s exactly what you’ll find in The Most Eligible Viscount. A heroine looking for a love match, and a hero who doesn’t realize he’s already in love makes for a nice read. Their standoff also allows the reader to learn more about the characters as they learn more about one another. I rather enjoyed that approach to character development.

Again I persevered to chapter 2, just to make sure the previous book wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. The experience was the same.

The first chapter was one long description of a marriage proposal gone wrong, which could prove to be an advantage. In another author's hand. This wasn't romantic, it wasn't humorous, it wasn't dramatic...It was the equivalent of beige.

While the first chapter was focused on the heroine's "experience" getting the "beige" excuse for the marriage proposal and her subsequent decision to abscond to the country (for no other reason than the "beige" proposal, it's not like the guy actually insulted or compromised her), the second chapter focused on the hero and started at the point of marriage proposal refusal (which happened in the middle of chapter 1).

Yet again, the jarring time-space switch, the lack of any exposition or solid description of either hero or heroine and/or their feelings, reasons for being in the story in the first place, the amateurish narrative style...It all put me off.
