`It’s not often a book begins with a proposal. Viscount Gavin Turley is ready to do his duty and take a wife, and he’s selected Miss. Georgie Featherton. Georgie wants more though, she knows she deserves a love match and if he can’t tell her why he chose her, she’s just not interested and flees to the country. Knowing Georgie is the one for him, but being relatively emotionally stunted, Gavin follows her to their friend’s estate.

This was a cute, fun and light-hearted read. It was actually the first book I read by this author and I’ll be going back and reading more.

Gavin and.Georgie are a couple who have to overcome the odds. Gavin thinks that love and marriage should be exclusive to each other.
This book was boring at times near the end but overall it was quite entertaining.
Julia Quinn has written a book of entertaining value.

The story was good. I enjoyed it. I do wish characters had focused more on how they FELT instead of reading as: and then this happened, then this, then she said that.

Enjoyable but not deep, and that is likely due to my own preferences to having characters have deep reactions and internal thoughts shown throughout the book, vice action from scene to scene.

I enjoyed this story. It took me quite a while to warm up to Gavin. I couldn't understand why Georgie was in love with him! The accompanying characters in this story-and there are many-were quite delightful!

The Most Eligible Viscount in London follows Georgie Featherton and Lord Gavin Turley's courtship after Turley’s proposal is turned down. I loved how refreshing reading about a romance well into the courtship was. It made the story very unique in my eyes.

The first thing that caught my eye as I was reading was the language. I absolutely loved the word choice and felt the whole book carried a fun, whimsical air as a result.

After Georgie turns Turley down, the next few chapters felt a bit slow, but when Turley becomes determined to convince Georgie to marry him, things get fun. He follows her to a house party and begins to woo her. My favorite aspect of Turley’s attempts to win her over (and frankly of the whole story) were the scheming grandmas. Turley employs a dowager duchess, his friend’s mother, and Georgie’s grandmother to help him in his mission, and these women were the stars of the novel. I absolutely love scheming grandmas, and these ladies were not a disappointment.
The pacing of the rest of the book, as well as the buildup of the romance was very well-executed and I found myself wholly engrossed. All-in-all this was a fun read!

Ella Quinn does not know how to write a bad book! This story was wonderful. I loved that Gavin was so insistent that he and Georgie do not have a love match. I loved that friends from other books helped their romance along and helped Gavin to see what was right in front of him all along, his love for Georgie.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It had more depth than I have come to expect from historical romances. Georgie was likable and a true romantic at heart but not a pushover. I enjoyed Gavin's suffering as he fought his love as well. This was my first book by this author and I’ll be sure to check out her other work.

Another enchanting tale from Ella Quinn. Gavin has proposed to Georgie but has told her he cannot love anyone... but if he were to love it would be her. Georgie is crushed as she is very much in love with Gavin but refuses his suit because she must have her love returned. Gavin gets a second chance to woo Georgie at a house party in the country. Will Gavin realize he *is* in love with Georgie in time not to lose her forever?
Georgie and Gavin are such appealing characters. They are fun and serious and at one point downright saucy. It is nice to see secondary characters from previous books. However it can easily be read as a standalone. Fans of Ella Quinn will just be delighted to see them again. The plot is interesting as it follows Gavin’s self discovery. But there are twists enough and some fast action. I would give this a solid 4.0 and would recommend this book to my patrons.

I was most disappointed with this book. I love Ella Quin, but I don't think she even wrote this book! It did not feel like her writing at all.
Every time the hero expressed a thought about what he wanted in a wife, the heroine displayed it. Quite methodically. There was no feeling of romantic attachment building up. There were very few romantic encounters (only 2, one kiss and finally getting together)!
I usually love Ella Quinn's books, but not this one. What happened?
It won't put me off reading her books as I live in hope that this was an anomaly and normal service will be resumed soon!

This was Georgie and Gavin’s story. He had been courting her all season. She wanted to marry for love. He didn’t want love. He was afraid it would make him weak. Gavin only wanted Georgie. There are many twists and turns in their relationship. The story was wonderful.

This was DNC for me. I didn't love the first book in this series and I should have gone with Tommy first instinct which was not to read this author again.
Ella Quinn just isn't work for me. I feel like I gave this book a fair shot and it just bored me.

An enjoyable Regency Romance set not in the ballrooms of London but at a house party instead, where a Viscount must convince his chosen lady to accept his suit which she has already rejected. She wants true love, he is afraid that love and perhaps the loss of the love will destroy him. The events of the house party and times they get to ride together in a way they never would in London allows them to get to know each other much better than they could ever during the limited chances during a London season. It felt like a real romance not instalust or infatuation.

The only drawback was the subplot of another interested party who must marry well to get his inheritance and the threat he might do something nefarious to upset Gavin and Georgie’s romance. It didn’t feel developed enough that it really was any threat to the Gavin and Georgie. The other man quickly saw that Georgie’s heart was engaged so he tried only a few times, half-hearted at best, to draw her attention. Then he turned to another lady who was much more receptive to him. I enjoyed seeing the “bad” guy was more complex than a stock character and liked the romance that developed between him and Lady Aurelia. It felt like the writer was fully committed to the subplot and the book suffered a little because of it.

Overall, though, an engaging love story. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review.

I'm afraid I just couldn't get on with this one. The main characters both seem completely devoid of personality, and their central relationship conflict could have been resolved with one simple conversation. There are far too many secondary characters, each more outlandishly named than the last, and they meddle constantly in the plot to the point neither hero nor heroine feel like they have any agency, and the heroine in particular barely feels like she has any page time. There are also secondary characters with viewpoint chapters, which further pulls things away from the main characters and slows the story. For a romance, there seems to be almost no focus on the romance, but there isn't any secondary plot either! I'm struggling to keep reading as I'm just not invested.

The Most Eligible Viscount in London, by Ella Quinn, is available at booksellers 3-30-2021. In book 2 of The Lords of London Book series we're introduced to Georgie Featherton and her not so reluctant beau. Gavin, Viscount Turley has a warped view of love thanks to his fathers reaction to becoming a widower. He fell apart & everything fell on Gavin's shoulders. He thinks this was a lesson and that love is dangerous. Silly man doesn't realize that his feelings for Georgie are love. When Gavin can't tell Georgie that he loves her she flounces off with a broken heart. She won't marry without love, no one in her family has. I love the plots and maneuvers the people around them come up with. We're also treated to the pack of matchmaking grandmothers that have run through several books in the Worthington/Marriage Game series. They're determined and a real hoot. A very enjoyable read.

The attention to details in this book blew my mind. The story was sweet. I haven’t read any other books in this series, but I think it would be better to read in order. There were a lot of people and background stories involved and it took a lot to keep up with. A good light hearted, feel good romance.

My Thoughts:

I liked the characters and the setting- I do love this era. The writing was good and the pacing steady. My biggest problem was that for some reason I didn't really feel chemistry between Turly and Georgie. I wanted to but they felt sort of stiff with one another. Granted, he was holding himself back but it made me less interested. There was very little romance throughout the first half which I missed. The multiple POVs were fun but were a little confusing at times with all the names and view points. Over all, not a bad read but not a favorite.

When the hero first proposed to the heroine, she asked an important question that made her reject him. To give herself some space, she left London and visited a friend's country home. With some help from some grand dames, the hero followed her to make her change her mind. Will he succeed in getting the heroine?

This Ella Quinn book has a nice writing style and story vibe. I liked the characters, especially the strong friendship groups of females young and old. There wasn't any huge drama, but I didn't mind because I enjoyed the story, even though I did wanted more details for better transition in some parts of the story. Overall, this is wonderful story and I look forward to reading more Ella Quinn books.

To make matters worse, when Georgie asks Gavin if he loves her, Gavin remains silent. Georgie, who wants to marry for love, refuses Gavin’s proposal and leaves town. Gavin determines to find her and convince her to marry him but knows he will never love anyone. Will Gavin realize his true feelings before it’s too late?

This is a quick and enjoyable read with fun characters and witty dialogue. It’s clear that the main characters, Gavin and Georgie, are in love with each other, but Gavon’s internal conflict stands in the way. He has to face his feelings and his preconceived notions of love before he can fully embrace a future with Georgie. As they get to know each other, they realize how well-suited they are, but doubts and fears threaten their happily-ever-after.

I found many of the secondary characters charming and interesting, especially the older, meddlesome dowagers. They are observant, astute, and not opposed to influencing the lives of those they love. I love how they work together to bring Georgie and Gavin together, as they seem to know what’s best for the couple more than Georgie and Gavin do.

Overall, this is a quick and light regency romance with a sweet love story. I think readers who enjoy historical love stories will enjoy this book. Thanks so much to NetGalley, Zebra, and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Marriage proposal or business offer? Gavin Turley has finally proposed to Georgie Featherton and she couldn’t be happier, that is until she hears his actual proposal which sounds more like a business offer than him saying he loves her. When she asks him if he loves her he just goes silent and that’s enough for Georgie to refuse his proposal because she will only marry for love. Georgie leaves town and now Turley must find a to win Georogie back while trying to get her to understand he can never love her....... or will Georgie be able to convince him he is in love with her? Throw in friends and family who all come together to help these two people get together. Overall this story was a bit lackluster and missing something, it just wasn’t as exciting to me as other Ella Quinn stories I’ve read. It wasn’t bad it just was not memorable and as fun as other historical romances from this author. This was a quick and easy read, the romance was light but overall just okay.

What a disappointment. I read the whole thing only because I received this as a free ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.
