The author begins the book with an introduction to Shamanism and Journey work. She discusses the importance of a teacher or guide. The remainder of the book is broken down into daily entries for the reader to use as meditation or journey work prompts. She also goes into detail about journeys to the Lower World, Upper World, and Middle World.

The entries are short, thoughtful, and insightful. They give the reader pause to think. I can see using them as jumping off points for journey work to other worlds. I have done journey work while I was studying Seidr and Norse studies. The author includes tips for drumming and contacting with your spirit animal. I recommend this book to anyone interested in Shamanism or meditation. It is nice to have small

Shamanism For Everyday is a great practical introduction to the art of shamanism. It is an easy read book that can be digested in thoughtful daily chunks. There is a lot of information of how to access and use your spirit guides and journeying. It is designed to tap into your imagination and use meditation and mindfulness to contact your guide and ask them to show you things. you can take what you want from it really based on your own beliefs. It could be just a meditation guide or a full on spirit world investigative journey for you. Overall a very interesting and deep book.

This was a very interesting book. It is designed to give you things to sort of meditate about and ask your spirit guide to show you. I am not really someone who thinks she has a spirit guide so it was of limited use for me. It could also be used just in a general way to meditate on. It was definitely an intriguing book but I had to force myself to finish it as after a while it felt redundant. I'm sure it would be quite different if I felt that I were going on a spiritual adventure with each of the prompts though.

This is just Beautifully transcribed and well laid out. I absolutely adore love stories and poetry. Most of these you will know. Some you may never have never heard of before. Some of these stories transported me to another world of love and light. I felt this book was speaking to me being so beautifully written it resonated with me. I have started reading an affirmation a day I would recommend as there are 365 quotes so you can read again and again at the start of a new year.
I received an advance review copy from NetGalley but I am writing this in honest opinion.

This book by Mara Bishop is an enjoyable wasy to make shamanism a daily part of your life.I am familiar with shamanism . Whether it is all imagination or not isnt important IMO. What is important is sticking with the activites and focusing on healing and wholeness which this book does. The book starts with a general description of the three worlds of most shamanic organization, The Upper, Middle , and Lower worlds are described. There follows a daily program to access these worlds for information and happiness and healing too. I am still working on this book as it is a work in progress. The daily activites are enjoyable and I look forward to my shamanic times. I also record my results so I know what Ive done and where Ive been. I have taken shamanic workshops and find this book to be a godsend for me to keep my skills going and not lose the healing that it brings. I recommend it to anyone curious about shamanism or a long term student.
